____________ Hola amigas :) ______________

I'm red-head Kelly, a first timer, and am 11 weeks and a few days along this joyful little journey, due on the 28th of September. I'm from Australia and have been married to Ernesto for 5 years now and we live in Spain. We have always loved the idea of starting a family and decided to take the plunge last Christmas and soon after I missed my first period. I really can't complain about MS, headaches etc though I knew even before peeing on the stick that I was preggers for the sore boobs, no getting out of that one.

I am doing my PhD in soil science and am heading into my last year, though with the arrival of little bean coming along then I'll be taking all of this calmly. I've been told by workmates before that finishing your PhD is like giving birth, so I'll be able to check first-hand on that one.

This web site is fantastic, I'm loving being able to read about all your stories and its nice to feel part of a community of people in the same boat, especially at the moment cause I'm pre-12 weeks and haven't told anyone yet (other than direct family). I'm someone who is always laughing, happy go lucky, and so this site proves to be good entertainment, things that you would never dream of you hear them now and can relate to them, so its lots of fun.

Take care everyone and see you around...

KJ xx

The day little bean was made (TMI!!!)

Friday 14h of March

I ate half a kilo of strawberries today, wasn't my intention but they were yum :)

Sunday 16th of March

Saw the Sunday afternoon movies on the tele, "Mother in Law" with Jane Fonda and had a lil sob followed by "Green Card" and cried til I ran out of breath when he got deported....gee that was rough! Feeling OK these days, a bit tired even though I'm sleeping like a champ. I'm finding it hard to watch the entire news, I can't take so much violence. Some poor dude got thrown about by a bull so that channel got zapped (idiot him for showing off and entering in the bull ring I might add).

Wednesday 19th of March

I think its time to start telling people that I'm pregnant! In Spain its fathers day today and I left a little present at home for Ernesto to open when he got up. At work, a friend mentioned that she had to go and buy a present for her husband and I spontaneously mentioned that I had left a present for Ernesto this morning and my boss looked at me and said...but he isnt a father....is there something you're not telling us....I didn't know where to hide! They'll all know next week anyway, I'm just excited to tell it to my best buddies first.

Saturday 22th of March (12w 6d)

We started telling friends this weekend and got big hugs, great reactions and happy smiles all-round. One friends comment after breaking it to him was

....well what do we talk about now, anything else is seems so insignificant....

had to laugh at that one!

Monday 24th of March (13w 2d)

Went for an US today and it was an adorable experience, there is a little person inside me!! Bean was moving about alot and posed for the camera. We got to see what bean goes through when I laugh too, the poor little thing gets thrown about by my stomach muscles.

Here are the pics...

Thursday 27th of March (13w 5d)

I just went to tennis class and told them that I am pregnant and I got sent home! They were shocked when they realised I've been playing all this time. My Dr's know about it and say that the body adjusts, though I'll ask them again.

Wednesday 2nd of April (14w 4d)

So today is Wednesday and I have a cold, this is like Chinese torture cause I can't take anything for it. This weekend we're out and about on tour with Ernesto's band which will be lots if fun, I just hope I'm feeling better by then.

Sunday 13th of April (16w 1d)

Went for an US today with my friend, we did our very best to try and determine whether its a boy or a girl, at the moment we think it could be a girl, though we have to wait a little more to be able to confirm.

I uploaded a few short videos....

Saturday 3rd of May (18w 6d)

Well, moving right along now, tomorrow we head into week 19. I've been feeling good, I definately look pregnant now and just recently people have been braving to ask me if I am. Getting some maternity clothing is becoming an issue, I'd better get into that one soon. We're looking forward to the next US in a couple of weeks to know the sex. Haven't conciously felt and kicks yet, looking forward to that.

Wednesday 14th of May (20w 4d)

Still no kicks, and still looking forward to the next ultrasound :)

Monday 19th of May (21w 2d)

Thursday 29th of May (22w 5d)

We found out last week we're having a girl !! They found some irregularities in the 20w US and recommended an amniocentesis which was a bit scary til we got the results back though lucky enough everything is in order. I realise I've been getting kicked for ages though wasn't sure what to look for, no doubt about it now and its very cute. I finally had some luck with maternity clothing too so am now set for summer.

Thursday 3rd of July (27w 5d)

We decided on Eliana as our little girls name.

Monday 18th of August (34w 2d)

Everything is going well besides feeling big and bloated, can't complain.

Tuesday 9th of September (37w 3d)

My calendar tells me there are 19 days to go. We're pretty much prepared now for the arrival of Eliana. My feet are all swollen up and I get belly and back pains more often than I would like, that started about 1 week ago. I go swimming everyday religiously and it works well, I feel a lot better in the water and feel good also when I get out.

Wednesday 1st of October (40w 3d)

3 days over due today, since about a week ago sleeping hasn't been much fun and for the last few days that contractions are happening more often....but not often enough! My belly tightens and I get bad back pain and period pain. My feet are still really swollen although that doesn't bother me much at all. The bag for the hospital is well packed now and we're ready to put this show on the road, its all about waiting now.

New pictures are up! Hi, a quick update! Sorry I have not responded to some of your messages in a while. The breast feeding adventure is taking so much of my time. Shawn is always on the boob! I am trying to get him to eat well and not fall asleep. It seems he will eat for a couple minutes and then fall asleep. So, he is only getting a little milk and not filling up. Any suggestions to get him to eat well so I am not having him on the boob every half an hour? He will sleep at night 3-4 hours, which is good, but during the day it can be trying. He is at his birth weight as of yesterday, so the milk is there.
I am going through the postpartum issues of night sweats, crying out of the blue, very sensitive to comments made by other family members, sore body...esp vaginal, feelings of being overwhelmed and cravings for crapy foods! Other than that, I am very in love with becoming a mom again. It feels very rewarding. I hope all you moms are doing well. I think of you and wonder how you all are doing. Please keep in touch. Sorry for the mass message. I will be able to personalize it soon. Take care.

Hey You! You can read my birth story by clickin on Mya's picture under my children tab. It should be under there. Glad to hear that things went well for you- that is great. I can't believe that you have already been out and breastfeeding in public. I have yet to do that- still nervous. It is not often that people breastfeed in public here- so I am not sure what to do. Anyhow, I have had a few crys myself- this is a tough job- especially on lack of sleep! Mya is sleeping a bit better and I am sleeping when she is- I just wish she would sleep in longer stretches. I hear that usually the first 4 weeks are the hardest and then it gets better. I sure do hope so- I am pooped! I hope that your little one starts to sleep longer too, until then hang in there- sounds like you are doing a wonderful job. Thanks for taking the time to write- thinking of you- write me any time, even if its to cry and complain! :)

Hey, Mamas! I finaly had my baby boy...On 10/15/08 at 3:12 pm
Shawn Kenneth, 7.8 lbs, 21 inches long, 13 hours labor, induced with a cervical softner and an hour on pitocin. Labor went very fast on pitocin...I went from 4cm to 9cm in less than an hour...to fast for an epi...God Give Me Strength! Was able to get spinal block that lasted less than 2 hours long, but not long enough to feel baby decend! It was alot on me, but I got through it with the help of the nurses and doctor. God Bless Them! Shawn is beautiful and very quiet compared to my daughter when she was born. He is softly spoken and very present. He is brestfeeding pretty good. He latches on and will eat and sleep at the same time. I still am having to get use to the positioning, but it will all come in time.
I hope all of you are enjoying the moment, because it goes so fast. Thanks for being in my network and I will pop in and say hi as the weeks go on. Motherly peace and rest to you! Off to change a poopy diaper!

jennysfirst - Sunday, 12 October

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi kelly,

I had Mya on September 27th after a long labour (I was induced because my water broke that morning but labour didn't progress on it's own). Anyhow, she is beautiful and keeping me busy. I just logged on to check and see how you are doing? Baby yet? I have been thinking of you and would love an update when you have the time. I will be posting my story and pic once I get some free time. This little one eats non-stop and I haven't had a chance to sleep! I am pooped but so happy and in love. Hope you are well- can't wait to hear from you! :)

jennysfirst - Wednesday, 17 September
hey there- just thinking of you and hoping you are doing well. I am hanging in there but VERY ready for this baby and am getting very impatient! I am not sleeping so well, am uncomfortable, not fitting into anythign at all anymore and just plain ready. I can't wait to meet my baby. I haven't had any contractions or anything yet- you? I am hoping that I don't go over my due date- I am praying that I go earlier! :) Hope you are feeling better than me! :)

Hey you,
All is well here- tired and ready for the baby to come!!! We just finished our prenatal classes- pretty interesting. The baby's nursery is all done and ready for her to get here. I can't wait! I don't get another ultrasound here in canada- too bad! I decided to drive an hour out of town to give birth in a hospital that will give me the choice of an epidural since they will not do it here. It freaks me out too much to think that I wouldn't have the choice if I were desperate for some relief. I have to drive the house every week now to see my new ob- but it is worth it!!! Let's hope it all runs smoothly. Hope you are well- I don't have much time for this site lately- but I keep checking in here and there and was happy to get your message. I will be anxious to hear about when the baby comes. Let me know how the us went! Take care, Jen :)

JennysFirst - Tuesday, 22 July
ahhhh love the 27 week belly pic and LOVE the name- so pretty!!! Good choice! :)

JennysFirst - Tuesday, 22 July
hey thanks! Sorry for the late reply, I haven't had much time to get on this site lately. I am taking a course that is sucking up all of my time. I am done mid august and cannot wait so that I can seriously start nesting for the baby! My baby shower is this weekend coming up and I am excited. Are you having a shower?
Yes those boobs are originally mine- I was already a DD and they have doubled again...I am so scared for when the milk comes in. I am afraid that they will never be the same!!! :S I do have a lot of blue veins on my belly- I guess it is normal but it doesn't look too cute! I also have a line on my belly button that make it look dirty too. I found out a couple weeks ago that I have low iron (which would explain me feeling very tired and no energy again). I have been on some pills to get my levels back up-but they make me sick so I am not sure if I can handle them much longer...I have an appt. on wednesday, so I will ask my doctor about it all then.
So happy to hear your good news about 2 of the 3 markers...that must be a relief! As for your weight issue- do not stress...my doctor told me that I have gained too much too- but by the books I have been reading it doesn't seem like I am that far off- so I am sticking with what the books say- not what the doctor says! hehe!! I also passed the sugar test- and I hated that drink- gross!!! It's also really hot here and that makes me miserable. I hope that it cools down by the time baby comes...probably not though- our summers tend to run into late sept...we will see.
As for names, we have her name picked out but we are keeping it a secret until she is born. :) What about you???
Anyhow, I will check out your site now and know that I didn't forget about you- just been too fricken busy! :) Hope you are well. Jen xx
