I've had these too. The MW at my dr office said that is is caused by cervical activity. Let your dr. office know if you are having lots of braxton hicks contractions (more than 4 an hour). Drink lots and lots of water!

hi Renee - I've been getting same as you with the menstrual type cramps. Its been on and off the entire pregnancy, but I hadn't had them for a long time and just this week I did a few times. As long as they don't get strong, it's nothing to worry about. If they do get strong it could be braxton hicks. If you lose your mucus plug or spot or if they get strong make sure to call your docs office just in case.
