I found out that I was pregnant on Nov 9th with a HPT and then went to the hospital on Nov 12 for a blood test just to be sure. I am now 5 weeks pregnant. I have had some cramping and some morning sickness. The cramping worries me some. My husband and I are very excited!

Thank you to all that are visiting the page.

My first dr appointment is 12/11 and it seems like it is taking forever to get here! :)

November 25, 2007

I am starting my sixth week now and I am feeling much better. I don't have the cramps and the morning sickness is gone...so far! I hope Dec 11th gets here fast! I can't wait to see our baby!

December 11, 2007

I went for my first appointment and had an ultrasound! You could see the liitle arms moving and the baby was quite active! The heartbeat was 182...sounds a little fast but the doctor said that was good. The baby measures at me being 9 weeks and 2 days, which puts me a week further along than we were counting. I am so excited, but July seems to be forever away!

December 26, 2007

I have 14 more days until my next appointment and I am looking forward to hearing the heart beat again. I had a terrible headache through Christmas but I don't think it was from being pregnant but a lack of sleep and eating different types of food! The morning sickness hasn't been too bad... I just feel sick when I am hungry and sick after I eat but thankfully no throwing up! I am looking forward to the end of the first trimester so hopefully that will stop!

January 10, 2008

Today I went for my 12 week appointment and all is giong well. I haven't gained any weight, my blood pressure is the same and the heartbeat was 160 bpm. The appointment was nice and fast, but I wish they could do more ultrasounds so we can see our little baby grow! I am now 12 weeks and 5 days and the morning sickness seems to be getting much, much better. At least I don't feel sick all the time now!

January 22, 2008,

Maybe it is just me but it seems like it is taking FOREVER for my next appointment to get here. I am 14 weeks and 3 days today and I am showing big time...I think anyway. I still haven't gained any weight so it makes me happy knowing I must be losing it somewhere since my belly is getting big. 17 more days until my next appointment.

February 4, 2008

I am starting to get over the flu...I guess. I feel some better and I am not coughing non-stop, when I do it hurts my belly. I wonder what the baby is thinking with all the chaos! My fever is down on its own and that is the most important to me. I was worried because it stayed up for a few days and the first couple of days nothing was bringing it down. I can't wait to go to the Dr on Friday to hear the heartbeat again! Hopefully my being sick and losing weight hasn't negatively affected the baby.

February 8, 2008

I had my 16 week appointment today. I have lost 2 pounds, blood pressure was about the same and the baby's heart rate was about 150. The baby kept moving around so the Dr tried to count the beats. I found out that I am close to dehydrating so all my water drinking while I was sick didn't help. I now have to drink plenty of Gatorade (yuck). If I am unable to drink plenty of Gatorade and eat better without feeling sick, I have to call them back and will probably have to get an IV for fluids. I tried my best to get an ultrasound today so we could make sure everything is ok, but he said I had to wait until next month. He wasn't concerned with the weight loss nor the fact that I haven't gained any prior to this appoinment, but my belly keeps growing and growing.

February 22, 2008

Well I woke up this morning and it all hit me that I am 32 today and pregnant. In a million years, I would have never dreamed of having a baby past 30! We planned getting pregnant down to the fact that I wanted the baby to be born in the summer and all, so it isn't like it wasn't planned and I knew I would be 32. Maybe it is these pregnancy hormones kicking in for the first time today. Maybe it is the fact that I had Dr Pepper about 9pm last night and I didn't sleep good...who knows...all I know is I am going to go from being one of the youngest moms at school PTA meetings to one of the oldest! Anyway, don't get me wrong, I am very excited about having this baby with my super wonderful husband and I catch myself talking to the baby all the way to work in the mornings. This morning I was talking to the baby like it was here telling it what I was going to feed it for breakfast...crazy huh? Then again maybe I was so hungry I was just looking forward to feeding myself!

March 4, 2008

We went for the 20 week ultrasound and everything looks great...and we are having a boy! We were not disappointed, just a little shocked since everything pointed to it being a girl. His heart rate was 150 today which is what most people would consider a girl. All the Chinese Gender Prediction charts would show a girl. So ladies, you can't go by anything...just seeing it on the ultrasound! We are very excited about our little baby boy and went straight to the store to buy some blue!

April 2, 2008

We went to the Dr today and our little boy's heart beat was 150. I had gained 2 pounds but I think that is only because it was a late afternoon appointment because I weighed myself the morning before going to work and I was still the same as before. Right before the appt I had a meeting at work that made me furious so my blood pressure was super high but they made me lay on my left side and took it later until it went down. The Dr said everything looked good he was only concerned for the fact that I have been sick and coughing for two months now, so he had the receptionist to call my family Dr and make an appt with them. I went to that appt the next morning and the Dr said my lungs sound pretty bad and now I am on a strong cough medicine, antibiotics and he gave me an inhaler. I have to admit, I am using all but the inhaler, I have never used one before so I guess I am just being a big baby! If I am not better by Monday he wants to do xrays on my lungs. So most of my second trimester I have been sick...so much for the easiest part of the pregnancy! Anyway, I am calling on Monday to set up the diabetes test and then an appt for the 4D ultrasound. I am looking forward to seeing our little boy again!

April 14, 2008

Ok, so now the hip pain has started...I hurt if I lay on either side too long and I hurt when I sit at my desk at work too long. My little boy has grown to the point that I occassionally have a difficult time taking a deep breath, especially if I am sitting up. I have to lean way back in my chair and strecth out to breathe! I know people at work probably think I am crazy! My baby's movements have went from rolls to kicks! He can kick pretty hard and sometimes it actually hurts! It is funny because I can just picture him in there trying to get comfortable! I have my 4D ultrasound scheduled for April 29th and I am very excited to see him. I also have to get the lovely GD test that week and my Dr appt on May 2nd so that will be a busy week for me, but I am looking forward to it...ok maybe not the GD test but everything else! I wish July would hurry and get here! I am trying not to use my vacation and sick days until the baby is here, but I am starting to feel like I really need a day off from work!

April 29, 2008

We had our 4D ultrasound today! It was fun to see him again especially knowing this could be the last time we see him until he is born. He was active during the entire ultrasound which made getting good pictures a little difficult. The ultrasound tech put a vibrating machine on my stomach and moved it around trying to get him to move and instead of moving he started hitting at it! Then she started poking and shaking my belly and then he just got comfortable. I think he thought he was getting a massage! Or he was thinking, "they want to mess with me, I will show them and not move!"

Oh yeah, I took the glucose test today as well. I should know the results tomorrow. I hope all is well because that drink wasn't TOO bad to drink (orange flavored) but I got so jittery and felt sick to my stomach the rest of the day. I really don't want to go through that again...and for 3 hours!

5/2/2008

Today was our normal appointment and all went ok...I guess. I had gained 6 pounds...craziness! I had weighed myself at home this morning and I had only gained 1 pound since the last appointment. My feet and hands were very swollen. My blood pressure was good, I do not have gestational diabetes and that is great to hear being I am overweight anyway, my iron was low so I get to take lovely iron pills and I my belly was measuring at 29 which is what I am, I just haven't changed my date on the website to stay with everyone I started with from day one! The reason I said the appointment went ok was the Dr informed me that because of my age, that I could get toxemia. Well I realize anyone can get it but why would he tell me that if I have no other signs??? I mean he could have said to watch out for the signs because of my swollen feet, or because they tested protein in my urine, or something! I realize it may be the fact that it is my hormones and I know that I am 32 having a baby but that isn't THAT old and so far everything else has been great and just right so don't tell me that without more reasons to tell me!!! I already feel that my Drs rush me in and out and don't give me all the information they should tell me. They measured my belly at my 24 week appointment but never told me what I was measuring and this time I had to ask twice before he told me. They didn't want to tell me the number of my glucose test until I asked twice and they finally told me. I am learning to just keep asking until they tell me but I feel when they do something to me they should just tell me the results. Honestly, the nurse will take my blood pressure and if I didn't ask what it was, she would write it down and not tell me.

May 5, 2008

Saturday, I stayed at home and between doing anything I put my feet up. I was determined that I was going to get rid of the swelling! I finally saw my ankles again which was very exciting! I weighed myself that evening and sure enough the weight was back down to what I weighed at my 24 week appointment so I guess all the weight gain on Friday was from the fluid that was making me swell. Sunday my husband and I went shopping for hours and I had Mexican which was great...the heartburn afterwards, not so great but nothing a little ice cream didn't cure! Then I went into work for a few hours after all of that, so I was going all day long. AND GUESS WHAT...I still had ankles...no swelling! This pretty much made my whole weekend when I wasn't swelling up like a marshmellow anymore! I know I probably will some more, but for some reason it just really bothers me.

May 7, 2008

I went to the hospital last night after some pink spotting. I didn't have any other signs or symptoms so I was worried but knew I wasn't in labor. Honestly, I thought I probably had a UTI, but when I called the Dr he was already at the hospital so he told me to come in to just be checked. He didn't think the spotting was an UTI as he said it would have been more red and there would have been other symptoms, so he checked my cervix and said it is still high and thick and he could feel the baby's head down there. They monitored the baby for a while and I didn't have any contractions which made me super happy but I found out the baby is a little show off! He didn't move a lot yesterday but as soon as they put the straps on for the monitors, he went wild. Our little man didn't stop until they took the monitors off.

I am so lucky to be sharing all of these amazing little parts of pregnancy with my amazing husband. He is so great about everything. He worries a little more than I do, but this is his first baby and experiencing the craziness of pregnancy. I know I don't tell him but I certainly hope he knows how much I appreciate everything he does for me.

How`s my pregnancy doing?

The group gift idea is great! I'll have to remember it if I am ever in a situation where we could pull it off for someone. :)

dosterslady - Tuesday, 6 May
Thank you so much, I am trying not to be concerned about it, but you know how it is. SOmetimes i think I should just stop reading stuff on the internet and just enjoy being pregnant!!!! Our parents didn't go through all this they just got pregnant and had babies!!! Thanks again and good luck to you.

blessedmom2b - Monday, 5 May
thanks for the comment. Yeah, I can't blame anyone for the pics not turning out too great. I just wish the experience had been better. I'm glad yours was located in a doctor's office. It's true... just thinking about what we could have spent the money on now is a little painful :) It's not very worth it but it's so hard to not have anticipation and want to see the baby sooner than the birth! I only get 2 ultrasounds (2D) with my insurance so I thought this would be a good bet. I just should have picked a place that was more professional I guess. Hope you are having a great week so far.

Caracaya - Friday, 2 May
I have been on major iron supplements (800% of daily recommendation) for two weeks now, and it has not caused any swelling. You might just be at the point where you start swelling. Drink lots of water, put up your feet, and maybe wear supportive stockings.

Boopy - Friday, 2 May
Oh my, I had to take iron...and my advice to you is to make sure you eat a lot of fiber!!!!! A good cereal with lots of fiber and tastes yummy is All Bran's Strawberry Medley. Get some. ;o) My hubby and I are doing our registry this weekend since we never got the chance to do it before she came. We were moving into our new house and we thought we still had 3 more months! In any case...I hope the registry things goes well. I can't decide on which theme I want to do. Butterflies....ladybugs, or disney. Hmmmmmm....or Under the Sea....HELP!!!! How is your swelling?

2babies - Friday, 2 May
I'm going to try not to worry....but you know you just can't help it at times...if something hurts you panic so I due have to take it easy because I'm always on the go. But thank you your comment really makes me feel better...Ufhh..... :)

Boopy - Thursday, 1 May
Thank you! Well, she went down to 1 lb 15 oz, but is now up to 2 lbs 4 oz. Workin her way back up! :o) How are you doing?

MamaE - Thursday, 1 May
Thanks for your comment on my big ol' uterus! They didn't say anything about too much fluid. I'm thinking that since I'm a bigger girl maybe that's why?? Although, with my first child (I was bigger then too) I was right on for all the measurements! I'm looking at it like this, my little girl is healthy and may end up being a little big but like you said, all that matters is that she is healthy. Have a great day!

cheshcat82 - Wednesday, 30 April
Thanks for your comment! I called the office this morning and left a message for the nurse. They said they'd call me back right away which is code for 2 days! I also worry my iron might be a little on the low side. I have been REALLY tired lately, but then again, that's normal too. Best of luck!

delta - Wednesday, 30 April
Thanks for the info, If thats what they are I think I have had it once or twice.

blessedmom2b - Wednesday, 30 April
Good tip! That will be hard because the baby makes me have to go like constantly! I don't know if I would enjoy laying back for the ultrasound if I felt like I was going to pee all over everything.:)Thanks for the tip, though!

blessedmom2b - Wednesday, 30 April

blessedmom2b - Wednesday, 30 April
Hi! How did your pics turn out for your 4D ultrasound? I will be having mine this Sat so a couple days before I go to week 29 so about the same time as you. Just curious if yours were clear and they were able to get some good shots at that week! :)

Boopy - Monday, 21 April
Hello there. Are the twins home yet??? How are they today? The NICU nurses say that it may be 3 months before Analise can go home. Wow, 24 weeks....that's scary. How soon before the twins due date did they make it home? I'm really hoping Analise comes home in June.

sstacks - Thursday, 17 April
I know it's crazy...I try hard to do the best I can and follow my docs instructions and still I am anemic. ;0) Well I guess I need to try to eat more red meat! Thanks for the reassurance.

Nezbit - Wednesday, 16 April
Thanks for the comment. Ii try to get on here as much as possible. The medicine keeps me so groggy and dopey, I can hardly hold my eyes open. I have appointments and meetings for my 4 year old because he is in speech and will be in Kindergarten next year. I told his teacher today I am on bed rest and can't attend certain things. I have been here at home messing with my mother in laws lap top. We each have one and we just got a router so that we can both be on. She is entertaining as she doesn't have a clue what to do. You ought to see my laundry. Clean stuff is nicely folded and it is pilling on my recliner because I can't put it away and my husband has no clue. All my papers ( mail and stuff ) is also piled up as I have not been able to organize them. My husband hooked up a new DVD player in the bedroom. Oh I am gonna go crazy.

wedward - Monday, 14 April
Thanks for the advice! Yes, I intend to do everything I am supposed to. I am NOT going to be in the hospital if I can help it!!!!

youngmommy1 - Monday, 14 April
Yeah.. your lucky they let you do that.. I called them and they told me just to go to the hospital, and I am soo tired of going to the hospital for everything. I see the doctor next week so I guess I have to wait until then. It was only one time I lifted boxes and it was only like two or three of them, and they did not feel extra heavy but I know it may have been a little more than 15 lbs. I am just soo nervouse I can feel her now but they are faint kicks

heather518 - Monday, 14 April
I am actually not on bedrest...but thank you for your support!

peytonsmom - Sunday, 13 April
My situation is similiar to yours... As soon as I stopped taking my birth control pills I got pregnant before even having a period. My dr. told me that when this happens it is hard to tell when you ovulated because you have not figured out what your cycle is like not on the pill. My dr. is basing my due date on my ultrasounds and on the first day of my last period. They seem to be matching up now but didn't in the begining. I was told first that I was due 7/29 and now it has been changed to 7/23. I am going off of the earlier date just because I want to see my baby sooner but I learned with my daughter that they come when they are ready! With her I was due 3/10 but she didn't come until 3/22 and that was after being induced, laboring all day, never dialating and ending up with a c-section! She ended up being 9lbs 7oz so I wasn't surprised...

noahsmom - Saturday, 12 April
i was in your same situation with my last pregnancy. actually i was on the patch and took it off about a week i was supposed to have my period and BAM, i got pregnant. i have never had regular periods so i never kept track. with this period the same thing, never knew what a regular period was so in both pregnancies, the ultrasound is the absolute correct date. my cousin owns a ultrasound company and has been a professional tech for many years, she says the u/s is the most accurate dating in pregnancy and is usually only off by 3 or so days. they go by the measurement of the fetus which tells you exactly where the baby should be growth wise. both my pregnancies were right on with the dating of my ultrasounds and were off by more than 2 weeks if i had gone by my last menstrual period. if you're still not sure, ask your doctor and they will tell you that your due date is what the u/s will show. good luck and congrads with your baby!

steffy1724 - Saturday, 12 April
Hi, Well my due date is July 15th, My last period was october 9th...and at my ultrasound everything measured out to be correct...hope this helps

jekajoy - Friday, 11 April
Hey there. The size of your baby at the earliest ultrasound is the best measurement for your due date. My last period was on 10/2 giving me a due date of 7/9 but the baby measured for a due date of 7/31! They said that I probably ovulated late and that implantation of the embryo might have taken longer. Your pregnancy hormones don't start until the baby implants to the uterus which can take days after conception.

They go by your last period to get a general idea of how far you are when they first see you. I also was on the pill for quite some time and got pregnant my first month off the pill, so I didn't know when I would ovulate on my "normal" cycle. Hope this helps!
