Hi all!
I've been following this site my entire pregnancy and have finally decided to sign up! This is our first baby, a girl, due July 16th. We are so excited as are our families. This is the first grandbaby on either side and we are counting the days until she arrives!

Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Tuesday, 26 August I don't really have a solution for you - just wanted you to know you're not alone. My baby does okay at night (maybe 8 hours total, with 2-3 night feedings), but I almost NEVER get her to nap and try as I might, I can't get us on a routine. My baby's 5 weeks now and I'm hopeful that at some point we can get into a schedule, but for now the days are a little chaotic. People always say "try the swing" or "try the stroller" or whatever - none of those things work for Skylar. She just cries unless I hold her or have her in the front pack baby carrier (which is exhausting to wear all the time!). But even people with super fussy babies say it gets better and they eventually learn to sleep and get on a schedule, so I'm hopeful that at some point things will improve. Just know that you're not the only one who's second-guessed having a baby in those difficult moments. I have a friend who said becoming a mom is a little like a death in a way - the death of who you used to be. It's also a new life, and I know overall it'll be worth it. When you look around and see so many people with more than one kid, you know it has to get better! The girls from the six month page all told me around 3 months things really improve... I hope things start to get better for you soon. fisheagle74 -
Tuesday, 26 August Our first daughter was like that until we let her belly sleep (I know DON'T EVER LET THEM BELLY SLEEP) Well, we did once she was strong enough to turn her head back and forth and she immediately started sleeping 5+ hours at a time. Before we let her belly sleep though it was horrible... I did the same as you.. rocked and rocked ... tip toed her to her crib ... gently layed her down and BAM she was wide awake again! Then she wanted to stay awake for hours more! I remember rocking with her and falling asleep myself!!! phonics -
Tuesday, 26 August DO you know what you do that makes your baby sleep the most? Like maybe in a swing or whatnot? Have you tried a different type of swaddle blanket or the sling that bo mentioned? emarie08 -

Thursday, 22 May So they did an ultrasound and baby's head an abdomen measured normal but his femur was two weeks bigger than expected. I'm not sure if that accounts for my sudden growth spurt or not. I also don't know where he would have gotten long legs from, both dad and I have stubby little legs =) But my doctor DID stress to me that measuring is pretty inaccurate and should only be a cause for concern if you already suspect a problem. Wednesday, 21 May Hi, I have to go back in to see my doctor today for an ultrasound. Last week I measured 34 weeks instead of 31. Weird thing is, I had a 4D u/s about 3 weeks ago and the baby didn't measure big at all. I did some research online and it could just be we are measuring big because of the babies position... Thursday, 15 May as far as nursing bras go - i bought one for in the hospital and as soon as my milk came in fully, then i bought a few more. u also want to get one or two that you can sleep in (so no underwire) then when you have settled into a clear nursing routine, your breasts actually go down a size or two. good luck and if you have any quest as me as i have nursed 3 + soon to be 1 more. buddysmom -
Thursday, 24 April Congrats! I wouldn't be too worried about the initials. As long as its not a really inappropriate word or anything. Go with the names you love. margysd -
