She's here!!!

Jason and I are ecstatic to announce that our baby girl was born July 24, 2008 at 6:22 p.m. She was born at exactly 38 weeks. She weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces and was 52 cm long. She is adorable and perfect in our eyes, and in the one week that we've known her has been the best week of our lives!! We named her Breanna Morgan!!!!

Melanie's birth story:
Melanie's labour started with her waking up Thursday morning (5:30) with bleeding. This freaked us out so we called the hospital and they said it was just the "bloody show". After I hung up and we were discussing what to do next, she had a big bleed so we called 911 and an ambulance took her to the hospital. We knew our baby was okay, as we have a fetal heart monitor (best purchase ever) and heard her lovely heart ticking.

At the hospital they hooked her up to the fetal monitor, baby was doing great and Melanie was having very minor contractions and was dilated 3cm. Once they knew she was okay, we walked around, sat on a ball and tried to encourage little Munchkin. By around 9:00 Melanie's contractions had stopped completely. At this point her dr. wanted to induce her because she was still bleeding heavily and was dilated.

Petocin was started at about 11:30 and this got Melanie's contractions going again. They increased it every 30 minutes until about 4:00 when contractions were getting stronger and shortly after that she discover Nitrous Oxide. At about 5:30 she wanted to push so they checked her again and she was fully dilated. Her water didn't break until she was in active labor which lasted less than one hour (about 45 min) and Melanie squatted her out like a good strong woman with nothing more than laughing gas. She was amazing.

Breanna joined us at 6:22pm and was perfect.

After they put in 6 stitches, Mommy and Breanna were golden.

Still going well, cheers!

Gripe water has done the trick! Thank you for the advice. I also think she is better now as she has fed and chilled out well since yesterday :)

Thank you for your advice. I will give gripe water a try, i have used infacol and dentinox colic drops so why not! I think her body clock is messed up, having been perfect, which is very annoying. She has now chosen to be wide awake, angry and hungry from 7 pm to 11 pm, which used to be guaranteed adult quiet time.

I am going to check with my OB next visit. I already drink a TON of water. I pretty much only drink water, and sometimes tea, no sugar. I dont think I can shove much more water down lol!

Wouldnt they have caught it at my OB appt when they check my blood pressure?
Im wondering if I might be anemic? If it continues im asking my doc next visit...
Its got to be fun teaching 2nd grade!! I was a substitute teachers assistant, working with behavioral kids awhile back. FUN and something not everyone can take, kids are great! Take care, and be careful with your fainting too!!
