Hi, my name is Karin. I am 35 years old and have been married for 12 years. We have a beautiful boy named Kaleb who is 2 1/2.

Kaleb has a sister in Heaven. Kathleen was born March 27 2008 at 19 weeks. We got to hold her for 1 1/2 hour before her little heart gave up. She was a beautiful perfect little girl. We have no answers for sure (possibly blood clotting or IC) why she was born early but I did experience bleedings from week 12 and onwards. The doctors couldn't find anything wrong while I was pregnant and assured me all would be fine, but it wasn't. Suddenly my waters broke and two hours later Kathleen entered the world, much too early to be saved.

April 3rd we had a funeral for our little girl. It was a hard day but also beautiful. We sang, we lit candles and we released butterflies. We wrote a letter to her that I would like to share here:

Dear Kathleen
We miss you so much and although we know you are in a better place we wish you were still here with us, that we had gotten to know you and you had gotten to know your parents and your big brother. We can't help but imagine what you would have looked like, what you would have been like, how your life would have unfolded and how you would have impacted the world. You were our little dream girl. We were so looking forward to having you in our family. Your grandma was coming to see you and we were going to take you overseas to see the rest of your family. We were looking forward to taking you and your big brother to the beach this summer. The time we held you in our arms was very precious and you were so beautiful. We know that someday we will see you in heaven but until then you will be greatly missed and you will always have a special place in our heart.
We love you very, very much.
Mom & Dad

Loosing Kathleen has been and still is an extremely difficult experience. Not a day goes by without me thinking of her and imagining what things could have been like. She should have been born August 20 2008 but instead I am left with a broken heart. Yet, I know God heals the brokenhearted and that with His strength I will move forward slowly.

Getting pregnant with Kathleen took us 15 months. We desperately want more children but have to trust in God's timing although we hope and pray we won't have to wait long. I do believe God has good plans for us and we need to wait for Him and trust in Him.

"Still I am confident of this: I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. Take heart and be strong and wait for the Lord" Psalm 27:13-14

Please watch this testimony of Jill McCloghry. She is an amazing example of someone who loves and praises Jesus in the midst of immense sorrow and grief. May she inspire us all!

Hi Karin. I would talk to a Dr. Maybe they can shed some light as to what is going on with your body. I know TTC is hard but hang in there. It is well worth it in the end. Stay strong and dont give up.

Hi Karin! Yes - I would defintely seek out a specialist to see why your cycles are out of whack. Especially if they've always been regular before your loss. Always good to find out if anything is wrong b/c all things are fixable! :o) GOOD LUCK to you!!! Keep us posted.

Thank you so m uch for your kind words, I really do appreciate it. I have been on an emotional roller coaster since I lost Ari, I just try to love for each day, and deal with the next day as it comes. She would be 8 months this past weekend and I just can't believe all the things I am missing, it hurts so much just thinking about it. But I know she is watching over me and I am trying to make her proud. We are still waiting for her to pick out her baby brother/sister or both and send them down to us. Having another baby will bring some of the hope and joy back into our lives. Thanks again for your kind words, I really do appreciate it. Luv & Hugs-Julia

Karin,
thanks. I had only 2 periods after having Sophia and I was pregnant again! It is a little earlier than we would have planned for, but we want 3 or 4, so we are all for it right now. I hope it works out for you and soon.
Take care and God bless,
Amelia

Karin- I am sorry that things aren't going as planned for you...seems to work out that way sometimes. It took me 4 cycles to go back to the normal 24 days that I was before my m/c and I was only a little over 6 weeks along. I have questioned the doc and done a little research and it can take upwards of 6 cycles sometimes more before you will be regular and since you were a little farther along and your body went through so much it might take a little longer for you to recover completely. If you are nervous though I would definitely call the doctory and have them do a scan or something to just make sure. I wish you the best and don't get too discouraged yet it will happen when it is supposed to happen. My prayers are with you during this time. Take care hun.

No problem anytime Karin. I'm glad I was able to give you some support on this after how great you've been with me.

Good luck hun, and i hope everything goes well at the doctors. I know it can be hard to hear only the medical aspect of it and not see any emotion from him. But to be truthful and i doubt you will get it and i know it hurts. Prepare your self for just the facts, make a list of the things the girls and i have mentioned here and bring it with you. Your turn will come again.

luv kash.

Karin,
I saw your comment on another page that said you are ttc but have irregular periods. I am in no way a spokesperson, but I thought it couldnt hurt if I shared with you what worked for me. I tried to concieve for 18 months with my daughter who is now 9 months. I had very irregular periods and that made it hard for timing. Well I took an herbal suppliment called ovulex. Google search it. I took it to my doc and he said it was safe... It claims ot make a more hospitible home for the sperm, making it last longer. It also claims to make the lining of your uterine lining more nutrient rich. What I am sure it did for me is it made my periods regular and i concieved after 3 months of taking it. Your story touched me and I wish you all of God's blessings for you!
-Amelia
