Hello
we are asking for your help in solving a horrible crime committed to
our dining room this afternoon. we came home and found our dining room
covered in tomato sauce and spaghetti. The prime suspect is not
traveling by foot, but in a vehicle with 4 wheels, which looks a lot like
a stroller. please do NOT approach the suspect, because he may be
dangerous. He is in possession of a weapon, most likely a spoon...
thank you
My name is Sabrina, but my friends call me Sabsi.
I'm originally from Germany (where I met my hubby) and have been living in the states since September '03.
My husband is in the army and we are currently stationed in Hawaii.
My hubby was deployed from September 2005 until September 2006. He survived an IED attack...thank the Lord!
We were planning on starting a family when he comes back.... After 'trying' for a couple of months we found out in December 2006 that we are expecting. Looks like our sweet baby was conceived on our 4th wedding anniversary :). so this baby is super special :)
In march 2007 we had our first ultrasound and found out that we are having a little boy :))!!
He's here!! :
Matthew-David Wolfgang H. born on Aug13th 2007 22.00h ... not fashionably late but perfect on time ;)
(David is my husbands grandfather and Wolfgang my German grandfather)
Birth story:
I've had pre-labor contractions for a week now and 3 false alarms with painful contractions coming every 5 minutes for more than an hour etc.
on august 13th:
Around 5 am I thought my water broke, it felt more like a trickle, than a gush. We wanted to wait for the contractions, before we head to the hospital, because we didn't want to stay there too long.
around 9 am the contractions still didnt start,so we left for the hospital to get myself checked out. after FIVE hours of waiting on an exam and blood test results,we were sent home and told, that the bag of waters had torn and repaired itself, but it wouldn't be long now. I was still only 1-2cm.
we came home around 3 pm and my husband went to go take a nap. I ate something and didn't feel well at all. all the sudden the contractions hit pretty bad. i had to get down on all fours,so it wouldn't hurt so bad.. With one contraction I felt a small gush and it was blood! I got scared, woke my hubby up and we left once more for the hospital. we got there around 7 pm and I got checked again. I was 3 cm and my bag of waters was still intact. we were told to walk around get some food. They also didnt have any beds free to admit me! The contractions started coming every 3-4 minutes and hurt terribly. I couldn't eat or concentrate on anything! we got back to the hospital around 9 pm and I got checked. I was 7 cm! and the nurse accidentally broke my water. the contractions came every 2 minutes and I was in so much pain. they brought me to my room and they started an IV. My husband went to admissions and came back about 40 minutes later and I was screaming that I have to push! they got everything set up.I started pushing. Baby's head started crowning, but he was stuck. his heartbeat went down and I lost all my strength and told them I couldn't do it anymore. (I had no pain relief!! I wanted some through my IV an hour ago,but they were waiting for the doctor's orders! they were so slow!!).they said: if he doesn't come with the next push, then we have to use instruments and that is when God gave me more strength, because I didn't want them to use any instruments. I pushed with everything in me and I delivered the head and then shoulders and he came out. they placed him on my belly and let "dad" cut the cord and took him away. I was so upset! they had to check him, because he was large and because he got stuck. He was a proud 9 Ibs 2.2oz! 20.5inches long.
I had a small tear and had to be stitched up. I didn't get to see him for almost an hour!! His dad had to tell me how he looks and I was so sad. finally they brought him to me and I was able to look at my precious gift!
Next time I will sign up with pain relief!! Or make sure I get to the hospital early enough!
well, I hope I got everything, I can't remember much, because I was so exhausted. but one he was born my energy soared!
But I tell you one thing, it really does feel like you have to make a huge nr. 2! but it feels more like you have to "poo" out a huge stone!
we are home since Wednesday and he is doing wonderful, so are his parents :)
Good luck to all of you and I hope you have an easy labor!
love to all!

Tuesday, 8 July Hey sorry you are having such a hard time. I can't imagine being in a new contry with nothing of my own really and to find out you won't have it for at least a month sucks. Poor Matty too it has to be hard on him as well. Dana is going through a stage too where she does not like her hands touched at all and throws a fit every time I go to clean them. However she does like sticking them under the running water so I get to her that way with no fit. Hang in there...you are a good mom and he is a lucky boy. tinashope -

Sunday, 15 June I meant to respond to your post about Matthew not liking his hands touched. Travis has always been like that, he doesn't want me to guide him to do anything as far as his hands are concerned. He did however always let me do patty cake and the wheels on the bus using his hands to do the motions. Maybe you could try doing things like that to get Matt used to having his hands touched more? I wouldn't really worry about it, we all have our "things" and that might just be one of his :-). Travis also refuses to let me look in his mouth, he absolutely hates it, always has. Babies are just funny sometimes. Elaine -
Friday, 13 June Hey Sabsi
I read your message about your little one not putting things in his mouth.. you are not alone! My wee boy Dylan turned 10 mths on the 10th and for the life of me I cannot get him to put food in his mouth either. He will pick it up and play with it but never wants to put it near his mouth he will always wait for me to do it for him. Dylan has never been one to put anything in his mouth apart from his hands, no toys, teething rings, nothing. He does love to eat whatever we are eating like fruit and veg but again I have to put it in his mouth for him. I spoke to my Doctor about it and they said to just keep perservering he will eventually get it.
Anyways I just wanted to let you know you are not alone on this one I have the exact same thing 100% with Dylan. bellydancer -

Monday, 12 May I guess there is no much of a choice then when it comes to military health ;0( However, both of you look like you are doing great and hopefully there is no need for major health specialists.Believe me,even if you are in the best hands, you just wish it were not happening.Period.As far as the screaming 2 yr old niece...i guess that is better than your adorable baby teaming up with the screaming niece for a major conmotion ;0) Happy Mother's Day! Wednesday, 7 May Hey,he will have a few international stamps in his passport before he walks on his own ;0) Happy moving and hope settling down and arranging all the needs of a baby come easier.Does the military gives you any help in contacting you with the new pediatrician for example.I always think relocating with or without references is a pain but hopefully you keep on top of it! Plus, you will be back where the setting is more familiar i guess.Ur baby will get to enjoy first hand a bit more of his heritage! carito -
Tuesday, 6 May You are very welcome! How is life treating you guys in Hawaii? I think a baby benefits a lot of of beautiful outings and tiny wet toes in the sand ;0)...and of course so does everybody else! By the way,I can tell you've got a very happy baby! All the best ;0) babi_blu_1982 -

Sunday, 4 May Yeah, he is leaving. He is actually doing training this weekend. He left Thursday and will be back sometime tonight. He leaves in September. I've been through it all before when he was in the Marines, but it is a little different with the Army. Maybe you'll get pregnant in July and have a spring baby. I liked being pregnant better in the winter, it wasnt so hot. Matthew will get the crawling thing down soon. Good luck. babi_blu_1982 -
