My Birth Story
I was a little depressed on Friday afternoon when I was past my due date and still had no baby to show for it, until my mid-wife called and said she was at the Birth Center with a women in the early stages of labor and that if I wanted to do the membrane sweep that I was welcome to come up and have it done. Of course I said I would be right over. So, at 4:30pm on Friday Nov. 2, she checked my cervix and I was already 5cm and 50% effaced and she did the sweep. When she checked his heart rate it was in the low 120's and we were a little concerned. Determined that he was coming tonight, I went to dinner with my family, left my other two kids at grandma's house, then walked miles until 8:30pm when we went back to the center to check his heart rate again. This time he sounded great and I was alrady at 7cm and 75%effaced. I went back to my mother-in-laws for about an hour to freshen up then labored at the center with one other women who was having her SIXTH kid. I walked alot but my contractions were not very strong so my mid wife gave me an herbal mix called "Bring Labor Tincture" around midnight. Well, everyone went to sleep and my contractions got really strong. Finally, I had my hubby wake the nurses and mid wife at around 3a.m. and Brandon was here 29minutes later. He came out face up, quite unique I am told, but not very pleasant. He is beautiful and huge (8lbs. 10oz., 22inches long) and we are both at home recovering from an exhausting delivery. We got home on Sat. Nov. 3 around 6:45a.m. It is soooo nice not to have to stay in the hospital for days. Good luck to all of you and thanks for the pregnancy support!!!

Pictures from Hawaii!!

Jessica and Tyler enjoyed the gifts we brought back

My name is Stephanie, I am a 28 yr. old SAHM and I am really excited to be expecting my third child with husband Steve of 7 years. He is an incredible father and husband and we couldn't ask for better kids. We have one boy and one girl so who knows what we will have this time to unbalance the scales. The kids really want a girl, but I am sure they will love it either way. My four yr. old son is already calling himself the "Big Brother" so he is definitely excited. We tried for 9 months for this one then I finally had a positive test on Feb. 25, 2007, my husband's mom's birthday. She was convinced we weren't having anymore so she was ecstatic when she got a digital pregnancy test for her birthday that read "PREGNANT"!!!
My kids are best friends and I hope this new baby will fit right in with their good relationship. For now I am just a little nauseous and tired but I'm sure it will get better as the pregnancy progresses. I can't wait to feel the kicks. That is the best part. Well, good luck to all of you moms out there and take care of yourselves and your babies!!
12 weeks today - The sickness and tiredness is finally gone. I woke up one day last week and felt a lot more like myself and have continued to feel great. Well, except for the running to the bathroom a hundred times a day. My tummy is already getting bigger. My husband politely says he can't tell, but I know he is lying. I hope everyone else is feeling as great as I am. Hang in there, your time will come...
13 weeks tomorrow - We all got to hear the heartbeat for the first time today! 160bpm - boy or girl? My son got to help hold the doppler and he was so excited. Too cute! I feel great still and I hope it continues atleast until after Hawaii in June!
14 weeks - I am feeling a little crummy this week. I don't know if I am getting sick or what, but I am nauseous and tired a lot more than I have been the past couple of weeks. I am feeling the little movements of the baby a lot more often now. It is soooo amazing. I can't wait until I feel that first strong kick and my family can feel it to.
15 weeks - Oh, this headache will never go away!! I wake up with it, I go to sleep with it, it is always there. For three days straight now, I am going to have to call my midwife today and ask her what to do. I think I've tried everything that has been suggested and nothing works. Other than the headache, I am doing great. I have a little bump in the morning and at night it is twice as big. I feel the baby move quite a bit now.
16 weeks - I feel great. No more headaches, just super tired by the end of the day. I am starting to gain weight and I know that is what is supposed to happen but it is still a little scary to pack on the pounds! I have an appt. in a few days and we will hopefully schedule the big ultrasound. My son has finally decided he wants a boy, but my daughter is of course sticking to the girl wish. We will see...
17 weeks - Very emotional and a little stressed lately so my hubby is being very supportive which is such a blessing. I watch two young babies all day 5 days a wk and they will soon be moving to a nanny situation so I can enjoy the Summer with just my two kids before baby #3 comes in to invade their space. I am going to stay on the beach just an hour away for half the week so that will def help my stress level. Well, I will be at week 18 when I return - hopefully with a tan!!
18 weeks - I feel great after my long vacation. Very well rested and my veins look better since I was able to elevate my feet a lot more often without the two babies to deal with. I have an appt. tomorrow, Tuesday June 5th, and I will hopefully get the big Ultrasound scheduled for next Friday. I'm sure my midwife will prescribe those awful support hose for my vericose veins which is no fun in Florida's Summer heat, but maybe it will help. Hopefully my next update I will know the sex of this baby! I can't wait...

6/6/07 - His name is Brandon Stephen Adcock
20 weeks- Hooray! I'm half-way there! Going to Hawaii in a few weeks and I can't wait. I will post pics when I get back. The 14 hr. plane ride will be hell, but hopefully worth it.
23 weeks - ALOHA! We are back from Hawaii and the plane ride was definitely worse being preggo. I had a blast in Maui though so it was worth it. I am really huge now. I will post a picture when I get them on a disc.
25 weeks - We finally had our scan today and everything with baby Brandon looked fantastic. What a relief! He was jumping all over and playing with himself a lot - typical boy! It was great to get one last peek at him before delivery. The nursery is coming along and I am getting really excited and anxious about having another little one in the house...
26 weeks - Well, he is officially a little soccer player. He kicks so hard it looks like he's gonna come busting out of my belly like a scene from a horror movie. The kids love to watch my tummy jump around and talk to their baby brother in there. So far I don't have all of the awful aches and pains most people are talking about, but I know they're coming. I am pretty tall and have a long waist so it usually hits me a few weeks later than most. Hopefully not at all with this pregnancy but that's just wishful thinkging!
30 weeks - I haven't had anything very interesting to add lately but I am very excited to be only 10 wks away from my due date!! I am starting to get some aches and pains in my pelvic area when I sleep too long on one side or do too much during the day but nothing worth complaining about yet :-) I still enjoy my evening walks alone and that has helped with the discomforts of pregnancy to stay in shape. I've gained 15lbs so far so I am on the right track to only gaining the 25lbs they reccomend you gain. Hopefully the weight will come off quickly! The nursery is nearly complete (pictures are in my photobook) and my shower is on Sept. 30th. I can't wait!!!!
38 weeks - I was finally checked today and I was only 2cm and not very thinned out at all. Pretty disappointing but it could still happen soon. I guess either way I only have a few weeks left. How exciting!! I pray everything goes smoothly and baby is healthy!
40 weeks - Well, he isn't here yet. I guess Brandon will be my stubborn one! I was 3cm and 50% effaced on Tuesday 10/29 so I hope to have my baby in my arms by this weekend! His brother, sister, and daddy are just as anxious as I am to have him here. "Come on out, Brandon, we are all ready for you!! Love you lots - MOMMY"
