Baby Slings at Nurtured Family
Photobucket

My name is Samantha, and my husband and I got married in September of 2007 and found out we were pregnant in November of 2007 (our honeymoon baby!!). We weren't really planning on having babies quite this soon, but we are thankful and very excited for the little blessing god has given us!!

How I found out I was pregnant:

I had been feeling pretty tired for a couple of weeks, which I thought was just exhaustion from wedding planning and honeymoon. Then my bb's started getting really tender and sore. It wasn't yet time for me to "start" but just out of curiosity and to rule it out, I went ahead and took a pregnancy test...low and behold it was POSITIVE! I yelled from the top of our stairs to my husband in the kitchen "IT'S POSITIVE, OH MY GOSH KYLE IT'S POSITVE!!!" All he could say was "Whaaaaat?!!" lol Neither one of us could believe it.

Things that I've dealt with during my prengnacy:

At first I felt fine...no morning sickness, nothing...just a bit tired and drained. Then at about 8 weeks along, I got hit hard with m/s!! I was sick in bed for almost 3 weeks!! My dr. put me on 2 different meds just so I could eat and drink and keep it down! It was the most miserable thing ever! My poor husband was stuck doing all my duties and chores on top of working all day at his job. I swore that I was NEVER getting pregnant again! I didn't care how many times I heard that the second trimester was better and it would ease away, I felt like it was never going to end.

Fortunately, it has ended. I feel wonderful. So from 8 weeks until about 12 weeks, I was sick hardcore, and then at 13 weeks I got sick with the flu (as if morning sickness wasn't bad enough) and then immediately after that I felt tons better!!

We are expecting a BOY!! :
I'm not going to lie, I was kind of hoping for a girl...there are so many boys on my husbands side of the family, that it would've been nice to see a little girl running around in the mix...but when we found out we were having a boy, my mindset went in a completely different way. I went from dreaming in pink and dolls to blue and cars!! After it sunk in, I got to thinking how awesome it will be to have a little boy. I think for mine and my husbands sake, it will be better on us. We are used to having the nephews around, and the grandparents are used to boys, and everyone will be able to give us advise on the "how to" things a bit easier!!

We are naming him Kaden Clay. Kaden is a name that my husband and I could agree on (which was the hard part), and Clay is my grandmothers maiden name. It's funny how when you are growing up you have your kids names all picked out and what their nursery will look like, and how you will dress them, etc...and then you get married, and you realize that you have to "agree" on things! lol...I really think overall, that has been the most difficult thing. Is trying to come to an agreement on EVERYTHING. I want my husband to be involved as much as possible, but I swear, it can be a pain in the butt sometimes!!

I will try and keep everyone updated as much as possible.

Madame Zaritska's reading

Madame Zaritska, our resident clairvoyant, wants to help you prepare for the arrival of your child. Here she does her best to predict certain aspects of your labor and birth experience.

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be sunny. Your baby will arrive in the evening.

After a labor lasting approximately 10 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have hazel eyes and a lot of hair.

Hi Everyone! I had Kishu by C section on July 14th, she was 8 pounds and 20 inches, looks exactly like her dad (right down to her little toes), sucks like breast milk is best thing ever and is ABSOLUTELY adorable, even if I say so myself! Blessings and Love to all of you and your babies born and unborn xxx

Glad I am not the only one. My DH is going to NY in a couple of weeks and i am like dang. You go out with your friends. Go to see your friends. Yet I am here twiddling my thumbs because I just had a baby. He says he is tired yet i am tired and still work my fingers to the bone. Men just don't get it!

Well, my pediatrician had told us to feed him 4 oz at a time (ya know, big baby and all) and I keep thinking that's too much. Fortunately at his last feeding he took in 3 oz and kept everything down; I did also give him mylicon drops, so that may have helped as well. I just worry a lot by nature.

Please tell me how you did it? I find it hard to do things while DH is here let alone when he leaves. I think one thing I will be doing is cooking in bulk. Cooking for 2-3 days at a time so that way I wn't have to worry about dinner that next day at least. Maybe that day I can clean the kitchen instead. They say to nap when the babies nap, but then when would you get stuff done?

Drinking fluids and being consistant in pumping are my two main problems. I want to do it at least 4 times a day, but i have only gotten up to two times a day. I keep finding other things to do and this is with my DH here helping me. I know i need to find a better way. I need to make that more of a priority. I read that you should worry less about keeping a spic and span house and more about thigns concerning the baby until things get more under a routine nad control. That is what i need to do. I just need ot get DH to clean up more. I am washing bottles every single day so unless I go out na purchase like 8-10 more bottles I wil lbe washing dishes like twice a day.

I need to drink more water/juice and pump like times a day. We will see how it goes tomorrow.

YES! I am so happy I am no longer pregnant. No more heartburn, I can sleep on my stomach now, I am so happy to have my little girl here. No if i can just sleep and get a few more hours added on to each day. I think 30 hours in a day sounds pretty good.

Well I try to breastfeed, but am not always able to. Every 2-4 hours? I think I can do the 4. Not sure about the 2. How else would I get other things done?
