Sunday, 6 July Hi, read your blog on low lying placenta. 90 % of all low lying placentas move by the 28th week. I too have this and I will be having my 28 week u/s to see if it has moved. Mine was margina, covering about 1/4 of the cervix. Really, many mothers have this and you should not worry yourself until they diagnois you by the 28th week. Still some will move with in the last tri as baby grows. So, right now, I would just go along and be positive. In most cases you will be fine to deliver via the vagina. Let me know how you are doing. I will let you know what I learn on the 16th of July! Take care sweetie.

Sunday, 6 July Mine was very low for most of the pregnancy...they actually were about to make a final diagnosis of Placenta previa when I had another ultrasound I think at around 32 weeks and they said it had moved up. So there is hope. Actually the doctor said and i have read that most low lying placenta's do move up before delivery time. MARIA DEANDA -

Sunday, 6 July if your placenta is touching or covering your cervix and stays that way, it's called placenta previa.... It's not something to worry about until you're into the 3rd trimester cause that's when it stops moving around so much. Don't worry about it until the doc says to worry, but if you do have placenta previa later on, it's cause for c-section, as you can't deliver a baby through a placenta. Good luck! mickyg0606 -
Sunday, 6 July I was also told that my placenta was low around 20 weeks. The good news is that most placentas will move if discovered before 28 weeks. I am going to have a second ultrasound this week to make sure it has indeed moved. My doctor is not concerned at all about it. If for some reason it doesn't move then I will have to have a c-section. If it is only covering part of the cervix then there is a very good chance it will move. I am sure your doctor will re-check it when you are closer to delivery. MARIA DEANDA -
