Hello everyone. I am expecting my first child with my hubby Jeremy, and it hasn't been an easy road. Jeremy had a vasectomy after his first marriage and 2 children (at 23 years old!!). When I met him, he was very up front. Maybe a bit too much...he told me that he can't have kids and doesn't want any more either. I was just getting to know him so it was no big deal. Well after we knew it was going to be a long term relationship, I popped the question of my own! I asked him if he would consider a reversal. I was so nervous about what he was going to say, but he said yes! So we had a reversal almost 2 years ago and were unsucessful for a year and a half afterwards. Upon going to my GYN, she started to think it was me, I was devastated! I was first given the "ok" before Jeremy had his surgery, and we spent over $6000 on it!
Well I had a few minor tests done and finally an HSG procedure where they inject dye to see if you have blockages. The doctor noticed that my uterus is shaped like a heart instead of a pear, or bicornuate. The dye spilled slowly out of my tubes, and the doctor told me that he has seen patients have a 20% increased chance of pregnancy after this procedure. Well Ta Da! It worked!! I guess all I needed was a little dusting and cleaning job in my tubes and we got preg! The only complication I face is if the baby is breech, the dr will not try to turn it due to the shape of my uterus, I will have to have a c-section. I'm ready to live with that!!
We are so happy! Our little miracle. And to be due on MOTHERS DAY!!
It's a GIRL! We are so excited! We wanted a girl!!!

Went into ER with belly pain and had to have an appendectomy :( How scary it was to hear the doctor say that there is a risk of fetal loss during abdominal surgery, but a burst appendix would kill us both. So I had to take the "lesser of 2 evils" and have the operation. Well I'm happy to say that baby and I are on our way to a full recovery. Just have a nasty scar to look at now. But she pulled thru like a champ, her heart rate stayed strong. And she was moving around before I was even fully awake. It was so heartwarming to hear the OB Dr. tell me that I've got a real trooper on board. Such a blessing!

Looking forward to 4D ultrasound next week. NOT looking forward to glucose test. Had Dr appt this week. All system's go! Baby Mira is moving like crazy. She moves at her Daddy's voice. It's so cool. She is especially active in the evening. And of course when it's bedtime. Having sleeping problems. Just seems I can't get comfortable.
3/23/08 Easter Sunday. Been a while since I've updated. Neg for Gest. Diabetes. Yay! Was in hosp for cramping and spotting, but sent home due to no real progression of any type of labor. That's good news. I'm 33 weeks and told I am at risk for preterm labor. I have a bicornuate uterus, shaped like a heart. So we'll see. She is very active, especially after I eat. I am gettinng very anxious to have her here. I don't like the cramps I am having, or the migraines! Couple more weeks....
4/3/08 Went to dr yesterday. Still measuring 2 wks ahead. 36 wks. Also have extra amnio fluid, need to have another ultrasound next week to chk levels. Dr told me that due to my bicornuate uterus and measuring big, she's surprised that I've made it this far!! OMG, I was surprised to hear that. People in my case are so likely to have preterm deliveries. If I go into labor now, she said they will not try to stop it. Baby has reached max capacity, and I'm getting very uncomfortable. I also have a wonderful upper respiratory infection going on. Fun! I am getting very excited for her to come. Any day now!
4/16/18 Dr today. Had ultrasound to measure amnio fluid, it's not high anymore, thank goodness. Baby dropped 3 days ago, ugh! The pressure! I feel like she's gonna fall outta me! I have had headaches for 7 months, so I'm hoping to be done w/ them in 3 wks max. It's getting warm outside so I spent the day outside w/ hubby. Can not wait to take Mira on walks, so glad I'm not going to be preggo this summer.
4/30/08 Our 3rd wedding anniversary today. Going out to eat tonite, yay! DH gave me a really sweet card this morning, made me cry of course! Had a failed induction attempt last week, I am miserable. Not so much from the pregnancy itself, but from the migraines. I go to Dr. tomorrow, so we'll see what options I have. I did progress with the induction. Went home dilated to 2cm and lost mucous plug at hospital. So there is hope. I am 38.5 wks so it can't go on much longer....right???
