It's a Boy!! Hi guys.... George James Samuel Patterson arrived at 01:28 on Monday 14th July 08. It's our first day back from hospital as we have been in recovery at the hospital. I will put details up soon but i had to have an emergency C-Section. We're both doing well now though. When i find some time i'll update properly with our birth story.

Hi my name is Sarah and I'm from a little village in Norfolk called Weybread. In live with my boyfriend Adam we are expecting our first baby in July! We're both really excited now although it was a bit of a shock at first! We are both very close with our families and altogether our little beano will have 2 great grandads, 1 great grandma, 2 grandads 2 grandmas 3 aunties and 2 uncles! lots of love to go round! I've always wanted children and can't wait to meet our baby, we don't know the sex so we are most excited about finding out if it's a boy or a girl. Only 2 people we know think it'll be a girl so i must look like i'm having a boy! Check out my pics and tell me what you think......

20/07/08- Quick update

Hi guys! Thanks for your messages (particually the ones about George being gorgeous)! We're very proud parents at the moment! I'm still pretty usless due to the C- Section and Adam gets cross when i go on the computer cause of the positioning etc so i'm just quickly updating. I do plan to put my birth story up but it won't be for a while as i'm finding it very hard to deal with (as it was not as i planned and was all a bit touch and go in regards to George's safety) I get a bit teary about it all so at the moment so i'm trying not to think about it and just get on with each day at a time at the moment. I had my stitches out yesterday and it wasn't to bad pain wise but it's still pretty sore. Recovery is slow & i just want to get out and show my son off but i can't so thats getting me down too. I don't mean to sound so miserable as i'm so so thankful that George is here and ok and i love him to pieces, i guess it's just baby blues. I'll update again when i'm feeling a bit happier until then i'll just keep nosing on all your profiles and adding pictures of my handsome little man :)

13/07/08 - we're off!

well the day has finally come.... we're off to be induced this morning! wish me luck ladies, i think i'm gonna need it! I'll be on here asap after birth, probably Tues, so keep a look out for pics of our little Beano...... whatever it may be!

11/07/08- I'll try anything once!

I've had a reflxology treatment done today as i heard it can bring on labour as they can stulate the uteras through the foot! Anyway, i'll try anything to meet baby so i went for it! The therapist said it can take anything from 2- 48 hours to start working, well i'll be induced in 48 hours! It's een 4 hours since i had it done and baby has gone very quiet but no contractions yet! I've unoacked and repacked my hospital babg and babies bag (with nappies, wipes, going home outfit etc in it). Made sure ens machine is working and read my magazine that i was suppose to take with me... whoops! oh well i'm bored so i had to do something. I'm bouncing on my ball again as Adam keeps nagging me to do so....... he's just chilling out on the sofa watching the cricket ZZZZzzzzzz! We're supposed to be going out with family for a meal tonight so hopefully labour will start after that as i'm craving a nice juict steak and chips (although Adam nags me have it cooked well done nowadays not medium rare!) it'll still be yummy though i'm sure! Oh well, i'll keep signing in daily to see how everyone else is going :)

10/07/08 - what next!

Just had another unsuccesful sweep, she couldn't quite reach the top of my cerfix! Also just been told that Norwich maternity unit (where i'm supposed to be going) has closed as too many people r havin bubs! So anyway, if i go into labour tonight i'll have to go to Bury St Edmunds or Ipswich which r both further away and Adam doesn't know how to get to them! Also if Norwich hasn't re-opened by Sunday they may put back my induction by another 4 days so i'll be 2 weeks over. She said the longest they'll let u go is 21 days over... 3 weeks! How can any1 wait that long to meet their baby!

Unfortunatly baby had turned and is now back to back so i've been told to sit on a chair or bounce on my ball and rock from side to side, (i'm doing this now)! One minute they say put your feet up, the next keep active, blah blah blah! I just ate a whole fresh pineapple as she said that it may bring on contractions..... now my tounge is burning! lol! oh god what a day!

07/07/08 4 days overdue!

Ok so this may seem like nothing to those of you who went 10 days over and had to be induced but i'm 4 days over now and really starting to feel dissapointed/stressed/anxious/nervous/worried to name a few! I'm disappointed that i haven't been able to meet my baby yet,stressed because everyone keeps texting me! anxious because i don't want to be induced (people have said it hurts more, but don't know how true that is)! nervous becase i could be any minute and i don't feel comfortable leaving the house and worried because baby is all cramped and i'm scared of the cord getting wrapped round it's neck or something! AAAAaaaahhhhhh!! I know there is nothing i can do to change it, except try the whole sex, walking, raspberries, (still gotta try curry) thing! To top it all off my friend who is due sunday just text to say shes in labour and on her way to hospital. I'm very jelous! It's funny how i just don't care about the thought of the pain now as i just want baby so bad! I'm sure as soon as the contractions start i'll take that back though! :)

02/07/08 ready and rearing to go!

Hi all! Can't believe how quickly time has gone! my countdown says 7 hours! Yikes! I know it's not likely to come on time but the thought that this time tommorrow i could meet my baby is so exciting! oh my god guys i'm soooo scared! I hope i can cope with the pain, i hope Adam can handle seeing me in such a state (think i'm gonna be really embarrassed) I hope he feels proud of me and not ashamed by anything i may say or do or any noices i may make! I'll check in everyday so if i go 24 hours without logging on you know where i'll be! wish me luck!

30/06/08 my due date!

well by my calculations it's my due date today, although the ultrasound tech said it's not until Thurs! I think they may be right as baby is nowhere to be seen. People say that babies usually quietens down in the days before the birth but my little bean is as active as ever! I haven't had any sign of a show or many Braxton Hicks at all, so all in all it looks like he or she is going to be fashionably late. I don't mind really we're just both so excited to meet our creation. Also it's gettin to the point now where i worry to go out alone, especially up to city. I'm scared of being alone and it all starting! At the same time though, staying in is like clock watching and i just sit here and think about it all! It's so frustrating thinking it could be any minue but also i could go 10 days over and be induced so it could be another 2 weeks!

19/06/08 38 week check

Been to the midwife today and baby is engaged. Heartbeat was 140 bpm and i'm measuring 39 weeks... could be a big baby! She said it doesn't feel big but i think she was just being nice! I guess it's just a waiting game now... i'm watching the countdown! hope you're all keeping well

05/06/08 Pregnancy exercise!

Hi everyone. I just got back from my aquanatal swimming class and i'm sooo tired! I've been doing it for a while now but today it's relly taken it's toll, i may even have to go for a lie down! I really enjoy it though and would definatly reccommend going if any of you have a class near you. It's great exercise, a good way to meet other mums to be and you work those pelvic floor muscles (although that bit always makes me need a wee!). I try to go for a little walk everyday but thats gettin harder and harder now and the walks are getttng shorter and shorter! lol!

I'm off to see the midwife later for my 36 week check. Hopefully she'll let me hear the heart beast again and tell me if baby is in a good position. People say they can tell how their baby is lying but i haven't a clue! I just feel it under my ribs on the rigt all the time! Oh well, we'll see! hope everyone is well :)

18/05/08 Work leaving Meal

I went for my work leaving meal on Friday night. I'm just sitting here realising i'm not gonna be going back for a while and feeling a bit sad! I know i'll want to be at home with the bean when it's here but i really love my job and everyone there so to think i won't see them most days is a bit weird! I'm definatly gonna visit them though so guess it won't be too bad. Also a new person is strting why i'm off and i just don't want them to change everything while i'm gone. I'm sure that won't happen but i can't help but worry.

Everyone came to my meal so i was really touched. They got me the most gorgeous moses basket and bedding set, with matching changing mat! It's from babies r us and it's all organic cotton with a winnie the pooh theme. I'll try and post a pic if i can figure out how to do it! They were all so generous to get it for me and i absolutly love it to pieces, can't wait for the baby beano to come now so i can take some pics of it asleep in it to show them!

19/05/08- dreams and baby names

i had a dream last night that i had a little girl called esme rose. she was so small and sweet and weighed 6.9 lbs! You know when a dream is really realistic and you wake up thinking it actually happened.... thta was me this morning. I love the name so it's definatly an option on the ever growing list of names, it's so hard to choose isn't it? they'll be stuck with it forever so it has to be perfect. Let me know you thoughts on Esme (pronounced Ez-me) we also like Freya for a girl and Joseph, Joshua, Seth, Louis, Freddie, Harry and Zac for a boy (lots more boys names as you can see)! x

20/05/08- mummy and baby's new chair!

We don't have nursery or sepertae bedroom for the baby so we've got a litlte baby corner in our room. I got a gorgeous chair as a suprise gift from Adam! (it's in my pictures) Both the chair and the footstall glide back and forth which is lovely. I can't wait to sit in it and rock the baby (and probably myself) to sleep! He is the best boyfriend in the world! Just had to share as i'm so chuffed with it! :)
