Wednesday, 2 April I know it is easy for me to say, but try not to stress too much...that can make things worse. I ended up a c/s with my 1st because after 37 hrs of contractions I still did not progress (my water broke & everything). Anyway, all I can say is this, at decision time, whatever you decide can only be based on the information you are given at the time. If after the event there is more info available, it doesn't matter because you made the best decision you could at the time based on the info you had then! You know your body & you will know what to do, trust yourself.
If you need to vent, just type away on my site. Best of luck! ladobruk -
Wednesday, 2 April I just put up a post yesterday re: my girlfriends induction – they guesstimated her baby was 9.5 lbs and came out 7 lbs 6 ozs, so they really are just guesstimating. 2 lbs off is a lot! You’re due date is still over a week away, anything can happen. Good luck! ladyintexas -
Wednesday, 2 April I am going through that same thing...I had contractions a few days ago for about 3 hours straight that were 3-4 minutes apart....after about 3 1/2 hours they just went away...so when I went to my doctor's appointment on Monday, I told my doctor about it...he checked me and I have not dialated and he said my son is still pretty high. I am scheduled for a c-section on April 16th, so I suppose in my case it doesn't matter. I think that our bodies will let us know when something won't work and when it will...I will told several years ago after a 2 day labor with my son that resulted in a c-section that I would probabl y always have to have c-sections...I have never been able to fully dialate! Whatever is the safest for you and the baby is what I would say! ladobruk -
Saturday, 29 Mar I am sure your Dr. can let you know about some exercises that encourage baby to get into position. I have read about some in books, but the only one I remember is pelvic tilts. An internet search might wield some ideas as well.
My baby hasn’t dropped either. But she seems to be of normal size so there will be no induction or c-section for me…10 days they will let me go over due…ugh.
Good luck!
p.s. you should do whatever you can to avoid a c-section. I have not had a c-section, but I have had surgery before that cuts through your stomach muscles and it is such a long and painful recovery – you need those core muscles for every movement you make!
But if it ends up it is necessary, then all you can do is try not to stress about it. I hope he drops for you! Good luck again!

Friday, 28 Mar Hey there.. just read your post in week 38.. I've heard many things that can help the baby to drop, like swimming, doing wall squats, bouncing on an exersise ball.. I tried all of these things, but the thing that worked for me was walking.. I was desperate for her to drop b/c I couldnt breathe.. so I walked around the mall for HOURS for two days straight..and when I woke up my bump was lower and I could breathe again..lol it was actually weird.. my little sister also had her 13th b-day party and I was dancing around with her and her friends..lol so I'm sure that that helped alot too!! just be careful you dont break your water doing that! Good luck!! chantal07 -
Friday, 28 Mar I heard walking helps the baby to drop into the pelvis also placing many pillows under your bottom and lying down on your back for about 10 minutes, 3 times a day. Good luck! firstandexcited -
Saturday, 15 Mar HAHA same thing happened to me too! I left the hospital and had horrible contractions. I was like 'Is this supposed to happen?!' I didn't want to go back to the hospital and look like a total flake! But the BH went away. I wish someone would have told me about the pain involved in checking the cervix. They really get up in there don't they!! I would read up on a c-section now that you know it may be a possibility, but try not to worry about it. As long as the baby comes out healthy, who cares how they come into the world right?! I had surgery once before (not a c-section, on my leg). So I know that it is scary to think about, but it's really not so bad afterwards. But I know that mostly every woman wants a vaginal birth, myself included! Just try to think about your baby coming. It will make anything you have to go through worth it! I wish you the best, keep me updated :o) Leave a message for senox0001 in the right column where it reads `Add comment`
