Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

pregnancy week by week Hi everyone! This seems like such a wonderful Mommy site, I had to join! I am the mommy to a 5 year old daughter, and a 3 year old son, with baby 3 on the way! Yes, I know, most think we are crazy, but we just didn't feel complete yet! We will after this one! My kids are sooo excited to have a baby brother or sister, and they get sooo excited telling other people that "Mommy has a baby in her belly and it's this big!" They can't wait to meet their new sibling, and I think they are going to be wonderful helpers! My baby is due June 25th (My 25th Birthday is June 28th!! LOL Happy bday to me!) but my Dr will be inducing me a least a week early because my son was 9 lbs 5 oz and broke his collarbone during delivery! Ouch! My daughter was 8 lbs 8oz. So I tend to have big babies. My pregnancies have been a breeze, no morning sickness, no complications, etc. I am so grateful! This pregnancy has been good, other than the constant lower back pain and breakouts! LOL. I guess it could be worse! I'm hoping to make some friends on here. Friday, 4 Jan

20 days until my u/s! I am soooo excited I can hardly wait. I hope my little baby is healthy, and I hope it shows it `s `goods ` to us LOL. I have no preference, this kiddo is the tie breaker of the family :) I am just dying to know. I have a Dr appt Jan 10th (16w) and my u/s is Jan 25th. Pray for a healthy little baby for us :)

Friday, 11 Jan
Went for my 16 w ob checkup. Baby `s heartbeat was 150 (which both of my other 2 kids were!). I have high blood pressure this pregnancy. :( I am really disapointed. My bp has been around 140/90. I am really scared and I hope that nothing happens to my little baby. From what I read hypertension is very dangerous if not controlled. And I gained 6 pounds from last month! YIKES. That puts me at a total of 7 pounds. I know at least 2 of that has to be the placenta, water, baby, etc...so I `m trying not to feel too bad. Well...I guess I `ll be eating more veggies and less junk. I want my baby to be healthy! 15 days until my ultrasound! I cannot wait!!!!

Monday, 21 Jan
4 days until the ultrasound! I am just dying here! My friend who is 19 weeks finds out what she is having today! I find out Friday...I am seeing a weekend shopping spree here! :) My husband wont even guess what we are having...what a butthead. I guess Friday we will know. Baby, please cooperate with us! :)

Saturday, 26 Jan
1-25-08 (18 wks, 2 days) MyCuteGraphics.com - Cute Glitter Graphics We had the ultrasound today! I was so excited. Me, Daddy, Grammy, Kaylee and Andy came. The tech said `Well, you are still pretty early, we may not be able to tell what gender it is.. `. I was just waiting and waiting until we would know! She did some head measurements....then she checked down under...she said `Well, I don `t see any boy parts down there...but I wouldn `t go buying pink just yet...and if you do, keep your receipts. ` So she continued on....and went down there again...She saw some white lines. She tried to freeze the screen but it was gone in a flash! She said `Well, 80% chance it `s a girl! ` Right after that you crossed your legs tight, hehe! I was getting soooo excited. She did some more measuring...your heartbeat was 150 :) She checked one last time, and all of a sudden we saw 4 white lines between your legs! The tech said `Well, that just changed to a 95% chance of a girl! ` Kaylee looked at us, her eyes big as saucers and said `A GIRL? ` I could tell she was beaming with excitement. Kaylee and Andy were getting a little antsy, and Andy was so tired he curled up in Daddy `s lap and took a cat nap! Boy oh boy he was excited!! LOL! When we woke Andy up and told him he was going to have a baby sister, I got no reaction. He was still half asleep. He knew it all along that you were a girl, so did Kaylee. It `s was very strange that they had that intuition about you. They have refered to you as `she ` and `her ` the ENTIRE time. Andy was right about my friend Brandi at work. She too is having a girl. We only got one pic of your `girl ` parts because you were looking up the entire time and we couldn `t get any profile shots :( You looked like a scary alien face baby! The tech said for us not to be alarmed if we need to go back for some more pics of your spine (you were sleeping!) and your profile. I wouldn `t complain...though it was hard holding my bladder, it hurt so bad! I had to pee two times during the ultrasound. Whew! After the U/S we took the kids to babies r us and Kaylee picked out some pink slippers and Andy picked out a pink mini blankie with satin edging and a little white lamb rattle. They were so excited! I think most of the family expected a girl, all except Dineen! She was in disbelief when I told her. She had a dream lastnight you were a boy! I had a dream lastnight you were a girl at the u/s. Then, suddenly you were home and in the bassinet in our room and had slept from 9am-5pm. We were wondering if you were ever going to wake up. Finally, you started crying and (at this point we hadn `t named you) Daddy said `Emily is crying! `...and with that I said `Well, you must like that name! ` So Emily you were! I am so excited to finally know who is inside doing somersaults. My sweet little baby girl! When I told Nathan (today was his 8th birthday) he said `darn it! ` We went to dinner to celebrate his bday and we were talking about names. Kyle suggested `Myesha ` LOL. We laughed so hard. I will never forget that. All of our family was very excited to hear the news. I can now rest knowing I have a little princess growing in my belly. I bet you look just like your sister! Grammy bought a bedding set last week on clearance (figured she could take it back if you were a boy) along with some cute little outfits. All pink of course. I think we all had the feeling you were a girl. Daddy said after the appt `I `m glad I didn `t make any bets with you! ` For once my motherly instinct was correct. 3rd times a charm I guess? Now to pick out some names for you...Onto the next journey! I love you little girl!

Thursday, 7 Feb

Had my 20 week checkup yesterday. So far I have gained 8 pounds total (1 between 16 and 20 wks). I am so proud of myself. I don `t know how I did it because I haven `t been eating that great. My blood pressure went down a little, it was 133/85. So I feel better about that. Still no talk about meds, doc must be ok with it. Baby `s heartbeat was 147. :) She still hasn `t measured my tummy, which I thought for sure she would do at this appt, but no. I am feeling good. Having a hard time sleeping since I can `t sleep on my belly anymore :( On Feb 1st Daddy felt her move from the outside! Then on Feb 3rd right after superbowl, I laid on the couch and she gave me 2 swift kicks! I felt it on the outside too! Now it `s getting exciting! I will get another u/s around 28 wks to check baby `s profile, but the u/s results looked normal, so that makes me feel good. :)

We finally decided on a name!! YAY!!! :) Generate Your Own Glitter Graphics @ GlitterYourWay.com - Image hosted by ImageShack.us

Saturday, 23 Feb

Went to the 22 week ultrasound yesterday. It was so amazing to see her again! I just love it! Pretty sure they got the extra pics they needed. She looked beautiful! They told me she was 1 pound 2 oz..and is still a `she ` hehe! Her heartbeat was 150, and she had her thumb in her mouth almost the entire time! Guess there isn `t much else to do in there, huh? So...I am just getting excited to meet my little girl. :) She looks so stinkin cute!

Monday, 3 Mar

Well, it `s official. My husband is clearing out the sports room/office for Emily `s stuff. :) I am getting very excited. I cannot wait to see her little crib up with all that adorable soft pink bedding. We are leaving on Vacation for Colorado in about 2 weeks. I cannot wait. My in laws have never seen me pregnant before..so this should be neat. Hopefully baby cooperates and lets everyone feel her move while I `m there! :) I think my yeast infection is FINALLY clearing up. I am waiting on a call back from the Dr `s office on my urine test results. They were going to check it for a UTI. So..I have my next checkup (24 weeks) on Weds. Hopefully everything goes well. The last few times I have been to the Dr. my blood pressure has been in the normal range. Thank goodness. I was so worried about it! It has been like 110/70. What a relief. So...I am looking forward to hearing baby `s little heartbeat at my appt..and I am wondering when she is going to start measuring my belly. Hmm..Will update Weds! :)

Friday, 7 Mar

Had my 24 week checkup yesterday. Baby `s heartbeat was 153. Dr measured me, exactly 24 weeks...so right on track! :) Yay. My blood pressure was ok. 127/87. She gave my my lab paperwork to get my glucose test done within the next couple weeks. Wish me luck on that one. My mom and sister are both diabetic, and I am overweight. Ughh! Then after my appt I went to the pet store and ended up buying my kids a bunny. They are so in love with her! I think my husband was about to kill me! Eek! :) Oh well...I am an animal lover.. :P My kids are too. Well...it is a nice sunny day (FINALLY) so I am taking the kids out to blow bubbles :) Yay...spring is near! :) Oh, and dairy queen has a killer mint oreo blizzard...you have to try it..got me one today ;)

Wednesday, 12 Mar

Went for my glucose test today! Ugh! The drink itself wasn `t that bad..tasted like orange soda minus the fizz. I had 5 mins to drink it but it only took me about 2. Then I waited an hour...at least they had good celebrity gossip magazines! The tech tried drawing my blood from my right arm and my vein rolled away from her...so she was prodding around trying to stick me again. She kept asking me `Are you ok? ` I felt like I was going to pass out! She got another lady and she stuck me in my other arm, and got it first time. Whew...what a relief. I hate needles..and everyone tells me my veins are so deep. I am the girl who needs the expert everytime I go for a blood draw. I am so glad to be done with all that. I was dreading it so much. I didn `t have GD with my first 2 pg and the ladies at the lab said I would probably be fine...so...I guess I `ll call the dr in a few days to find out the results. After I left there, my mom, kids and I went to lunch for mexican food! Yummy! I still felt nauseous from not eating for so long. Emily was kicking the heck out of me...it `s like she knows my meal schedule and if I `m late she lets me know. It probably sounds pretty crazy in there with a grumbling tummy! Probably like thunder to a baby! LOL. So...wish me luck. We go on vacation in one week...I hope I don `t get sick from being in that nasty germ filled airplane! Seems like it never fails...one of us always gets sick. Maybe I `ll see if I can take airborne...anyone know if it `s safe in pregnancy? Well, I will update later! :)

Wednesday, 12 Mar

My husband was cuddling me lastnight and he told me he felt Emily moving soooo much! He said it was like she was in a boxing match in there! I think he is starting to get excited and enjoy this a little more now that he can be more of a part of things. :) I `m thrilled.

Saturday, 15 Mar

Well, it `s official. I have swollen ankles lol! I was out shopping all day with my mom and sure enough, when I got home and took my socks off...I was all swollen. Not too terribly...but enough to remember the joys of pregnancy! :) My mom bought Emily `s baby book today..I am excited to actually get to sit down and fill it out. :) Yay!! Hope you all are wonderful. 4 days until our vacation!

Saturday, 15 Mar

25 weeksToday I feel like my baby girl has flipped head down! I am now feeling more kicks right up near my ribs, and the hard spot that was about 4 inches to the right of my belly button is gone. I think she is getting in her final position! How exciting :) :)

Tuesday, 1 Apr

Got to see my little Emily in 4D today!! She is beautiful. Looks just like her big sissy. She was sucking her toes, and she smiled and yawned...also looked like she was playing peek a boo. I just loved it. I would highly recommend doing a 4d ultrasound!! :) I will try to post some pics in the next few days!

Thursday, 10 Apr

Went for my 30 week checkup today. How exciting. I took Kaylee with me. While we were waiting in the waiting room she saw a couple mommies leave with their new babies. Her eyes got big as saucers and said "Mommy, we get to take our baby home today??" It was just the cutest thing. She was like a kid in a candy store. I said "No, she's too little, she has to stay in there, she's not ready to come out yet." "oh..." (with such disapointment, lol). I explained that we were there to check and see if the baby is ok in mommy's tummy. "They are going to measure my tummy, and then they are going to check her heartbeat...it sounds like galloping horses." She was thrilled to be there...I wish I would have brought her with me sooner. It just so happened she was going to be having a night with Grammy, and I had to bring her with me to my appt. Emily's heartbeat was 160 :) My blood pressure was 139/80...(not good, not bad...so/so) and the best news of all: I didn't gain any more weight this visit! So I am at a total of 12 pounds, which is really good...considering all the junk I eat :X I'm a naughty pregnant mom! The scariest part of today was that we talked about her inducing me! Eek. My due date is June 20th, and she said she will try to get me in there at least a week early when she is on call at the hospital. She mentioned how big Kaylee's shoulders are (and the fact that Andy broke his collarbone coming out during delivery) so I think she understands that I have big babies. I got a map and registration papers for the hospital and made my appts for the rest of the pregnancy! This is just getting nerve racking!! I also got a diaper bag with coupons and magazines...but no formula? It's an enfamil bag...hmm. While talking to my mother in law she said that in New York the hospitals are not providing ANY formula to parents with new babies. They are trying to encourage breastfeeding. That's great and everything but what isn't great is when your baby is screaming for 2 days until your breast milk comes in! Are they a bunch of idiots? Not sure if my hospital is doing this but I will be bringing some formula to the hospital just in case. Babies gotta eat! And yes, breast feeding is best, and I plan on doing it, but why should they starve in the meantime? Well, that is the news for now! Take care everyone!! :)

32 week checkup 4-24-08

Well I went for my checkup. Baby is doing great...heartbeat was 156. I took the kids and Nick to my appt with me because they wanted to hear her heartbeat, etc. I was a little stressed out because the kids were a little spunky and I had to keep telling them to quiet down. No wonder the dr's office asks you not to bring your kids. So...we get in the room and they check my blood pressure. I about freaked. They said it was 145/98 (this was the automatic one they do on your lower arm). The nurse was in disbelief and sent another nurse in to check it manually the old fashioned way. She got 140/82. Great :( So the dr gave me a lab sheet to get my blood work drawn. I hate having my blood drawn :*( She told me she wants to check my blood platelets, kidney function, etc. As I'm scrolling over the sheet the box next to PIH is checked. Did a search on google...pregnancy induced hypertension. So she will be checking me for that. I am hoping that everything turns out well. I will try and go tomorrow, as I know it is very important to make sure baby and I are ok. I only gained 1 pound between visits..that's good. When dr measured my tummy she got 35 weeks (I am not quite 32 yet). So she is sending me for an ultrasound around May 16th to check the weight of baby. I have this fear that she is going to be coming into our lives sooner rather than later, and boy, I'm not mentally prepared for that. So..keep us in your thoughts...I want her to stay in there longer and get stronger...and I hope the blood work turns up normal. I will not rest until I know the results next week. Whew...sorry that was so long.

4-28-08

Got my results from the blood work I had drawn on friday and doc says everything looks normal. Whew! What a relief that is! Now I am just anxiously waiting to see her on u/s on the 16th...I wonder how big she is! My friend delivered her baby a month early and she was 5 lb 4 oz!! Tiny!! My kid probably weighs that now! hehe..

5-15-08

Well yesterday while I was waiting with my sister at the ER for her sprained ankle, I was having some contractions and cramping. I was a little worried. I headed home and took a hot bath and things calmed down. I was still feeling really achy this morning so I went to the dr. My dr was out of town, and I had to see a different doc. He checked my cervix and said that it is still long and hard (so no baby for a while...which..I still have 6 weeks, so I'm ok with that) and maybe a "fingertip" dialated. He asked me how big the baby was and I said "I'll find out tomorrow, I have an ultrasound". "I think she may be breech"....oh JOY! I hope to goodness she is not breech...I'm not going to panic just yet...but I really really really don't want a c-section ;( Keep me in your thoughts, and I hope little Emily cooperates and is heading for south! I will post tomorrow after the ultrasound!
Oh yeah, and how could I forget...I lost 2 pounds from my last visit! Woot woot!!

5-16-08

My baby weighs 5 lbs 12 oz! Had my u/s today. Their error margin is plus or minus 14 ounces...so she could be 4 lbs, could be 6...who knows. The tech was wonderful and said she felt she had gotten good measurements and felt confident that baby was 5 lb 12 oz. My babies are big anyways :) I am so excited. She is head down too..whew. She has hair and chubby cheeks...I cannot wait to kiss them! I got the COOLEST pics of her feet...I will let you know when I post them. So awesome. Hope all is well with everyone. :)

It costs about $1,500- $1,900 to bank the cord blood. Then you have an annual fee of about $150.00 to keep it there. I was interested in it myself with my last child, until I called and they told me the price :o

Rachel918 - Wednesday, 14 May
I think donating is completely free thats why we re doing it lol... I guess you could say we are cheap!

tlc - Wednesday, 14 May
I am banking the cord blood with LifebankUSA. If you decide to do it - act NOW! there is paperwork and payment to do, and they need to send you the kit to bring to the hospital with you.

lukesmyboy - Wednesday, 14 May
Hey, delayed cord cutting is when you dont clamp or cut the cord until the cord has stopped pulsing. The baby will be getting all the nutriants from the blood. There is tons of information online about it. :)

cori1212 - Wednesday, 14 May
Thanks for the comment! I am so worn out! Yesterday was really bad. Kimmi has her little miss attitude going on which I know gets worse the older she gets. LOL.. And Kelsie is cutting teeth and learning how to throw things. That's life though I know it will get a lot easier on me once Ian is here. But I can't have him before June 18th since my mom doesn't fly in until the 17th.

How are you doing?

landofsandandsun - Wednesday, 14 May
Redarding banking cord blood- a good friend of mine recently lost their three year old daughter to leukemia. She was ready to have her second child around the time her sick daughter needed a bone marrow transplant. They were very excited because they just knew the new baby's cord blood would match and save their other daughter, but it didn't match. They did however find a cord blood match from the public bank. This is where your cord blood ends up when you DONATE it when your baby is born! According to the Dr., you only have a 1 in 5 chance of having a sibling match. Also, even if someone banks their baby's own cord blood and that baby ends up with childhood cancer, their own cord blood is not used for a bone marrow transplant because it can contain pre-cancerous cells. Anyway, my friends story did not have a happy ending, as her daughter passed away from infection BUT she did get the bone marrow transplant from a complete stranger who donated their baby's cord blood.

Rachel918 - Wednesday, 14 May
Hey:) Just read your post.. We were talking about the cord blood with the dr yesterday. You need to call around different banking centers they all have different prices, theirs an initial cost and then a monthly cost as well. But every place has different prices. I think we are just donating ours:) How have you been havent talked to you in awhile. hope all is well with you and baby:)

socalgal - Wednesday, 14 May
Hi there, I considered the cord blood banking, but the place used by my doctor is about 2 thousand dollars to set up (plus you pay a $150 fee every year for storage) and hubby and I can't afford that right now.

yogamommy - Wednesday, 14 May
We've been thinking about banking the baby's cord blood too. We have to make a decision this week though b/c the hospital needs the kit there and it takes a couple of weeks to process I guess. Anyway, the cost is around $1500 through a company called CyroCell. Hope this helps!

froggy - Wednesday, 14 May
i lost that a couple days ago i think

Grace - Wednesday, 14 May
I read somewhere that the same cells that they use from the cord blood is found in the baby teeth and they are now able to use baby teeth to do the same things as cord blood. I just thought that was interesting.

CCQ - Wednesday, 7 May
I have been having the sciatica more lately too. I walk holding my belly and almost tip-toeing. I look like a nut trying to get dressed or bend over to pick something up. I have so much to get done still and when I over do it, I definitely pay for it. I can't wait I have my body back (no matter how bad my belly might look). My cousin had a baby a month ago and she said that the best feeling was after she had the baby and the epidural wore off and she could take a shower. She said she felt so light when she stood up, she almost skipped to the bathroom. I can't wait to feel light again. :)

NumberFive - Tuesday, 6 May
