45.4 hours ago Hey ladies...so I am scared. My man and I have just barely getting by financially. We make good money but we have a mortgage, two cars, and everything else that goes with it. Well, today Collin got let go! I am literally freaking out!! He got let go because evidently he is not passionate about his job and it shows. He was going to school for nursing and LOVED it, then he quit once we found out we were having a baby. Ever since then he was working for a construction company making decent money. Here's the catcher...his boss who fired him is MY DAD! He wants whats best for us but I dont know how he expects us to pull through this if we can't possibly afford Collin going back to school! Ahhh I am angry, upset, scared...so many emotions. I honestly dont know what we're going to do! I know most people now-a-days will just say 'join the club' but I've never been in this situation and I'm truely scared. How do you ladies go to school AND have a baby and....make it work?? excitedmommy1st -
Thursday, 19 November LOL. I was in pain after the section. I didn't have a choice between and epi or a spinal. They just gave me the spinal. I had her at 4 am and was all closed back up by 430a and in the recovery room until about 530a. The pain wasn't all that bad after the spinal wore off. Of course they gave me morphine so maybe thats why. I was out of bed and walking around by 1p the same day. The reason why it was 1 until I got out of bed was because no one was available to help me get out for the first time. The first time you get out of bed expect to be light headed. Also, when you walk....move REALLY slow. And, getting on the potty is a task. Make sure you have someone to help you lower down to get on and to help you stand up for the first couple times. Make sure you keep pressure on your lower tummy. They gave me an abdominal binder to wear (that thing was a true blessing). My tummy is still tender but not painful. I don't really know I had a section unless if I am rubbing lotion on my incision area (causes discomfort). The area that is numb is probably from my pubic hair line up to about 2 inches below my belly button. Yea, no one told me about my tummy staying numb....I thought for sure that something was wrong. As for as restrictions...I can only lift up to 25 lbs for now. Oh....you won't be allowed to drive for 2 weeks, so I would stay at the hospital too. You can't shower for at least 24 hours after surgery. You will also get a catheter. It will come out as soon as you are up and moving around. Oh. I got 2 percocet every 4 hours for pain too. Keep your pain meds coming like clock work for the first 3-4 days. Once they wear off it takes a while for it to kick back in and you won't be able to move as easily. Trust me! I learned it the hard way cuz I hate popping pills. Those pain meds are much needed! I didn't need any pain pills at all as of the fifth day after my surgery. The pain was tollerable by then. Oh. take your prenatal vitamins along with you because if your hospital is anything like mine around here, they don't have prenatal vitamins and if you are breastfeeding you are supposed to continue to take them. The spinal is a one time shot in your back that goes into your spinal cord (i think). And the epi is a catheter that they leave in your back for continous medication and it is inserted between your vertebres....or somewhere but not in your spinal cord fluid. I hope I answered all of your questions. If I missed any feel free to ask again. :D Just don't get scared when going in for surgery. It really doesn't take long at all. Oh they make you drink this horrible stuff to keep you from getting sick. Nasty stuff! It's in like a little shot glass thing. Whatever you do, make sure you don't taste it. Chug it just like a shot lol. excitedmommy1st -
Thursday, 19 November Yep, she wore her newborn outfit today that we brought her home from the hospital in. She is absolutely adorable! I can't believe how big she is getting. Hard to believe next wednesday she will be a month old already. Did they tell you all the things about what happens with the c-section? Will you be getting an epidural or spinal tap? I had to spinal tap and it wasn't too bad (i guess). They give you a shot to numb your back and then give you the real shot that numbs you from your chest down. When they were putting the medication in my back I got a shock (not sure what from) in my butt. Made me jump. I think it scared me more then anything. Then when the meds wear off, I was shivering and couldn't stop. Also, I got real itchy everywhere. They said all of that is normal. My incision is still tender and the area above my incision is numb. They said the numbness will eventually wear off in a couple of months. It sure is a weird feeling. mama...mia -
Thursday, 19 November Just that the closer I get to my due date, the more likely there is to be stress on the baby due her size, strength of contractions, etc. I don't think it's anything to worry about. They're just making sure our daughters are ok and getting the best care possible. mama...mia -
Thursday, 19 November Oh I can understand not wanting to pay for parking all the time. Lucky for me it's right down the street from my job, where I spend 8 hours a day on my feet. So sitting in that recliner for a while with my feet up is a welcome relief. I don't start going twice a week til I hit 36 weeks. It freaks me out sometimes to watch that monitor though because when she's asleep her heart rate is in the 120s, which seems low to me. I don't like that! excitedmommy1st -
Thursday, 19 November That's a pretty good job you have. Sounds like you have it all planned out. I hope it works out for you. Nursing is ok, its just really rough on your body and mind. I am thankful that I have a job though. Jobs are very hard to come by now days. Oh. I almost forgot to tell you. Raelee now weighs 6lbs even. She is 18 1/2 inches long. She is really growing! The doctor said she is small but she is strong and fiesty. I can now let her sleep as long as she wants at night. No more having to wake her up every 4 hours to eat. I am so proud of her! Oh I found out today. When a baby has hiccups it is their tummy growing. Pretty wild! I am just soo excited to get all of this good news and I knew you would be happy to hear it all. Hope you have a good day! orone -

Wednesday, 18 November I'm having the NST because of a combination of my age and the fact that my last daughter was born at 34 weeks. I don't mind them. They let me hear her heartbeat every week. excitedmommy1st -
Wednesday, 18 November Haha...I need all the advice I can get! I will bring that up next time we talk about it. I went into the hospital at 730p on a tuesday and was having hard contractions up until the decided to do a section at 330a on wednesday. I was not dialating either. I was bearly a 1 and 80%effaced. they were afraid to give me anything to help me dialate due to hear heart rate. I am actually thankful things worked out the way they did because they were going to send me home because I was not making any change but then her heart rate was dipping more frequently. So thankfully they got a chance to see it before they discharged us. As for work...ha thats subject and a half lol. My husband and I both don't want me to go back to work. His work is slow though. He is only working 2 days a week (10 hour shifts) if he is lucky. Granted he is getting unemployment but that doesn't make up for the lost hours. He has been talking about getting a second job for cash so I don't have to work....we shall see though. I know if I have to go back to work, I will be one miserable b*tch. (sorry for the language but no other way to put it) IF I do go back to work, I am only working weekends and that is it...cuz he works monday through thursday (normal working days when they are working full time). So hopefully it works out so I don't have to work. What kind of business are you starting? I always wanted to have a beauty salon. I even started cosmetology school but got bored with it :( I guess I am stuck in nursing....blahhhhhh excitedmommy1st -

Such a beautiful picture! excitedmommy1st -
Wednesday, 18 November Oh my husband and I were laying in bed lastnight talking about another baby. He said "no, I don't want anymore kids". Of course I argued the fact that I want at least ONE more. I also gave him the guilt trip that he gave his worthless ex-wife two kids, so why can't I have one more. lol She really is worthless, she walked out on him and her kids when the kids were 3 and 1 for another guy. Pretty low of her. She never looked back until her daughter was 13 and then wanted to be the worlds greatest mom. You know how that goes. Anyway, I am hoping and praying that he will give in......Maybe after a year or so he will change his mind......Men anyway! excitedmommy1st -
Wednesday, 18 November God bless you! I had the contractions and let me tell you, they can keep them! No way would I want to feel them again by choice! lol They were the most uncomfortable thing I have ever felt. They wouldn't give me anything for pain because of her heart rate. That really sucked but I understood. I am just thankful that the doctor didn't want to wait any longer to do the c-section. I think I would of flipped! I am sure if I had to do it, I would have been fine. I am just amazed at how people do it all natural. (that is what I was going for and had NO idea how bad the contractions felt) I have to say, HANDS DOWN to those who do it natural! I don't know how the women used to do it in the older days. Are you still working? Do you plan on working after you have Sophia? Cindie -
Wednesday, 18 November TJ got his first tooth this morning! he just turned 15mo and we've been waiting for this for a long time now.
it's one of the front bottom two teeth... and helps explain why he's been so grumpy/inconsolable and sleepy the last week!

Tuesday, 17 November Thank You for all the comments on my little princess. She is tiny but has grown soo much too! She is almost 18.5 inches long now. I look at her and think....people have babies twice her size at birth. Hard to imagine....Makes me realize how lucky I am to have her. excitedmommy1st -
Tuesday, 17 November I want at least one more. Hubby is not sure though. He already has two other children from his past marriage. They are pretty much grown up though. His daughter is 17 and his son is 15. I am going to push for one more though. :-D After all it is my body that goes through all the changes lol. How old are your kids? Oh. Raelee got her first bath lastnight in her bath tub. Oh my, she loved it! She just layed there and looked around making her little noises. Totally priceless! MyBabySuprise -
Tuesday, 17 November thanks for commenting on my blog. I am really nervous for me and the baby. The Father's change was so sudden. I am meeting with him on Sunday but I don't trust him. However, I want the baby to know him so I am going to go out on a limb and discuss what he wants really. I am happy for the baby but I am going to need to build a lot of trust with him. I am not sure that he hasn't thought maybe he can woo me into making him pay less child support or something. I am really confused so we will see this weekend after I meet with him and I will keep you all posted. I don't know whether he wants us to get back together and I don't know if we can work out how he has treated me. However, I am up over 50lbs so he will change his mind again if he wants to be with me because I am not attractive anymore so I won't really need to deal with him wanting me back, It really is about the baby. I want him for the baby. BTW, I love your profile pic
