I have been looking at the different pain relief that are available for this baby as I worry about how the baby could be affected aswell. Could you use gas and air just to take the edge off the pain?

i had two out of three of my kids without any pain medications. My last pregnancy i didn't even have an iv. I'm hoping i can go naturally again with this one as well. The pain is definetly something that blows you away. i'm going to be honest... With my last pregnancy i was asking for a gun lol. Death seemed more appealing then the pain i was going through haha. BUT i survived without anything. You have to make it a mind over matter thing and trust me its a lot easier said then done when your in that much pain but you have to stay strong. Just keep telling yourself it will alllll be over soon and every women in this world who has kids has gone through labor and delivery. The reward for all your pain is definetly worth it! It will definetly be the most painful thing you will ever go through and at times you tell yourself there is no way the pain i'm having is normal and there is no way women go through the same pain i'm going through, but in the end you realize its the same and we all make it!

Hi, I have two children and now pregnant with my third. I gave birth to both my children without any pain relief, The first time I planned to have a epidural but couldn't get to the Hospital and gave birth in a birthing centre which couldn't provide pain relief and the second time I was at a Hospital I just tryed to keep going without any and somehow made it!
I can't lie it was really painful but I got through it twice and so do many women! One litle tip that really helped me was when the contractions are really painful count down from 10, then you have somthing to focus on other than the pain also you know when you get to 0 the pain is gone until the next one, I know it sounds weird but it does help, I guess it's mind over matter.
Good luck

im new to this so i wasnt sure how to respond to your question about not having an epidural. my son is 2 now and i didnt have an epidural. i was induced with pitocin. at first it wasnt that bad until they broke my water. then the pain got worse and worse. they were giving me demerol but i felt it all. i wanted an epidural but by they checked me and i was dialated at a 4 and the next time they checked me was when i said i had to push(a few hours later, they should have been checking me more). the contractions were excrutiating to say the least. they say to breath through them but for me, it was impossible. i was in so much pain that i couldnt even think. then by the time i had to push i was asking for an epidural because after going through all of that the last thing that i wanted to do was feel the baby coming out. so they gave me these shots "down there" and i didnt feel it at all. im not sure what the shots were but since you cant have an epidural, i would ask for them. if anyone says its not that bad, they are lying. it hurts like nothing else. the good thing is that from the second the baby is out, you forget how bad it hurt. i mean of course you never forget how bad it hurt, but you feel really accomplished and its all worth it. good luck!

With my daughter I did not feel anything until I was about 20 weeks...sorry! This one I have not felt anything yet. Anyone who says they can feel it is not right, it is just gas. The baby is only about 3 inches and barley above the pubic bone. Good luck!
