My husband and I just got married in April 07. I got pregnant right away, but lost my first pregnancy. I had a D&C in July 07. That was when Sean and I decided to save a life--we adopted a dog named Tanner. He has really helped us get through the tough times. He is our only baby right now but, not for long! Three months after the surgery, I got pregnant again (in October)! So far so good... I worry at times but try not to let the past get the best of me. Going through that was horrible! Anyway, that is just a brief story which eventually led me here! I love this site because I can be reminded that I am not alone!

Thursday, 28 August We overlapped the prevacid and the zantac for 2 weeks. Ours is a solutab, it dissolves as soon as we have it in water. have you tried using a syringe? cherryb0m -
Wednesday, 27 August thats so funny, we just moved to the dallas area a yr ago. my family lived in houston for a little while too, my brother was actually born there. i miss the beach though. i would go to coco & daytona all the time. my inlaws have a condo in coco, we're going to visit in october, i would love to sit on the beach. maybe let elizabeth play in the sand, oh wait that could be dangerous. LOL she will probably try and eat it! cherryb0m -

Wednesday, 27 August hi, i just noticed that you and your hubby live in cassleberry & were married in april 07. my hubby and i were married april 14 07 in orlando, at the renaissance hotel by sea world. we both grew up in orlando........i hope the prevacid works for your little one. it's really hard dealing with it. we finnaly took elizabeth to the dr. after a day of horror where she cried for 13 hrs and wouldn't sleep. i cried too most of the day. im sure you keep hearing this, but it does get better and you will eventually get sleep!! LOL cherryb0m -
Wednesday, 27 August yah we had problems with giving her the prevacid for a few days till we got the hang of it. it is gritty when it does dissolve. do you give it to him with a syringe? her's are pink and taste like strawberry, at first she liked it a lot, but now she tries to clentch her gums together. lol. she spits hers up sometimes or pushes it out of her mouth with her toung. i just give her a tiny bit at a time till she swollows it then i'll give her a tiny bit more till she gets it all. if she spits it all up i just giver her another tablet, if she spits that one up then i just pray she has a good day and not too much reflux, but that has only happened twice. it kicked in for her in about 3 days and has been working great since. oh yah, another "trick" that works for me is as soon as im done giving her her meds i will feed her. it seems to help her get the rest of it thats just floating around in her mouth down. i hope he starts to feel better. poor little guy! christy33 -
Wednesday, 27 August I know how helpful it can be to talk to someone who has/is going through the same thing. It has got to be especially hard trying to cope with this being your 1st child. For me, I had never had a problem with my other 2 boys, so this was all new to me. It sounds like your baby has an especially bad case of colic. I know for several weeks I couldn't even get in the shower, so wearing a hat and putting my hair in a pony tail was all I could do! It is such a big change in your life, when your p/g it's all so exciting, but nobody can prepare you for motherhood! The rewards will come! I promise!

Wednesday, 27 August My son takes prevacid solutabs. I just pop half a pill into a syringe, then insert the plunger. I suck up a bit og water and it dissolves instantly. Way better than the suspension stuff he was on! cherryb0m -
Tuesday, 26 August hi! my baby girl is on prevacid for reflux too. did they tell you to disolve it in water and give it to her in a syringe (sp?). thats what we do with her. we just put the pill in the syringe and suck up a little bit of water and POOF it disolves in about 2 seconds. we do give her gripe water too sometimes, but thats just if she's fussy and really tired but wont sleep. it seems to calm her down. we also use mylicon gass drops. those seem to help too, she's a gassy little girl LOL, dont know if that helps at all but the prevacid works very well for her. she still will spit up a little and sometimes will vomit (what baby doesnt) but she's not in pain and keeps most of her milk down. good luck!!! christy33 -
Tuesday, 26 August Boy do I know how you feel! My little boy was born June 4 and he never slept but maybe an hour or two at a time and then came the crying. At about 1 month he started crying for hours at a time! I tried EVERYTHING! Even called to have the doctor see him because I just knew something must be wrong, but even she didn't know, talk about feeling helpless! I even bought the Gripe water, but he just threw that up. I felt like a zombie, and couldn't go anywhere, I tried a couple of times, but my nerves were shot, he would cry the whole time. Then after weeks of that I finally bought baby gas drops, and it was first time he slept for like 4 hours. I call them my magic drops! Anyway he had a few more episodes and then it just stopped, he sleeps and eats like a normal baby now. I did read some articles in Baby Talk and Parenting magazines that were helpful. Hang in there, I know how hard it is. It will get better because even if it's colic, it will pass.

Thursday, 17 July I think italian ice would be fine too, it'll melt while you eat it, I would go for it! I've been super thirsty lately too, probably a good thing! bubbles362 -
Thursday, 17 July liquids are fine hun, i was induced and there was no mention of not having food or drink! good luck! carolynjh -
Wednesday, 16 July As far as I know, liquids are fine, maybe try to keep them clear-water, sprite, light tea. If you get epidural, they will give you a catheter, so liquids shouldn't be a problem if you go that route...
