MAG04 - Tuesday, 1 July
My best friend has 3 kids and only had gestational diabetes with the middle pregnancy

claires-momma - Tuesday, 1 July
I'm lucky that both my SIL & aunt live close to my dr's office, so I know if I ever have to, I can stay at one of their houses instead of making the drive all in one day. We moved when I was 6months preg & I didn't feel comfortable trying to find a new dr. Plus the hospital in the town we moved to is really small & only has the bare bones for a L&D department. If something were to be wrong with Carter, he'd have to be medivac'd to Wichita. The hospital we're delivering at has one of the top rated NICU's in OKC so I'd be at the same hospital as him

BabyGonzales - Tuesday, 1 July
With my first 2 babies I didnt have the gestational diabetes but with this one I do. With my 2nd baby I failed the 1 hour but passed the 3 hour. Hope this helps.

claires-momma - Tuesday, 1 July
Not at all...did they tell you to do any kind of special diet? I've been told by other moms to eat lean proteins, lots of carbs & peanut butter today & tomorrow. I am not going to be a very pleasant preggo when I go do mine. It's a 2hr drive to my dr's office & I'll have to leave around 8:00 so that I can get there on time to do my test & be done in time for my 2:00 appt. No coffee

All that matters is that you get the shot & that you get your money back! That is still crazy to me that they don't keep it on hand! Just goes to show how different each doctor is!

We're doing good. I'm right there with you on the baby being in the ribs. I never had that problem with Claire, but it feels like Carter's using mine as a foot rest! I haven't even started on their room yet. We're getting Claire a new bed & getting new bedding for them, too, so I've got to get on the ball with ordering all of it! At least I won't have to buy all the "stuff" that goes along with a newborn, other than clothes & diapers!

claires-momma - Friday, 27 June
I just read your post about the Rhogam shot & that is SO weird! I have to go back for mine next Thursday. My husband is a pharmacist & he was actually trying to see if his store could order the shot so I wouldn't have to make the 2hr drive to the doctor's office. I would definitely call your doctor back & ask to talk to someone else because that makes NO sense for them to tell you to go pick up the shot. The majority of pharmacies will NOT keep the shot on hand because they cannot order them in less than quantities of FIVE and it costs the pharmacy over $1000 to order the shots. They don't do this because, like most have been telling you, they do the shot IN the DR's office. The only reason we were looking into trying to get mine @ the store was because Chase is also licensed to give any & all injections, so if we could have ordered the shot he would have just given it to me at home.

yes def sounds confusing i was told i must have injection at the docs so i think what they are sayin seems strange anyway hope all goes well tomorrow ; )

kindro8 - Thursday, 26 June
Im getting mine on Tuesday. And they are giving it to me in the Dr. office

agechic - Thursday, 26 June
I had my Dr. appointment yesterday and he told me I had to come back next week for my shot. All I have to do is go to the lab and get it and I can leave. That's weird they said you have to pick yours up. Maybe whoever you talked to wasn't familiar with what they are doing...

xlauraxdx - Thursday, 26 June
ok i could be getting this totally wrong as this is my first baby so all is new to me but i am rhesus b negative blood group so i am getting an injection next week which will be in my 28th week i have been told this is something you must have in your 28th/29th week but all i have been told is to just turn up nothing else, i hope im on the right lines of what your talking about ; ) i would def check on what they have said sounds very confusing! x

I have never heard of getting a prescription for the shot, and taking it to the dr.'s office. They always had it on hand at the office, but I have always went to military treatment facilities for all of my pregnancies.

claires-momma - Wednesday, 25 June
Oh goodness she is a total outside girl! Is your little boy? She gets so mad when its time to come in. I take her to the pool almost every day & we stay about an hour...my favorite part about the pool is the good naps that follow afterward!

lindsaylee - Wednesday, 25 June
Yeah no joke.. this whole pregnancy during summer is already getting old. The other night the baby was like seriously kicking the crap out of my ribs.I thought I was for sure going to die or something.

I love the names Alexander & Benjamin. I'm not big on trendy names, I've always wanted names that my kids won't be embarrassed to have when they are forty LOL. I'd like to have a 3rd, but I plan on that one being a ways down the road. I wanted to wait 4 or 5 years for #2 but that obviously didn't happen

lindsaylee - Wednesday, 25 June
Yeah we didn't buy ours brand new either. I imagine you have heard of Conoco Phillips (The gas stations).Well a large part of their company is here and they kind of have a classifieds thing they send out weekly. This woman posted the crib and changing table for only $250.It hadn't ever even been used!I guess she bought it for her daughter to use for her baby but they had already picked out something else.We got on BabysRus to see how much it all was really worth and it was around $700 so we got a really good deal!

lindsaylee - Wednesday, 25 June
We've still got a ways to go as far as decorating. We need the wall border and some shelves for sure!I actually got stuff when the tax rebate checks came.I just really really wanted to buy it!

claires-momma - Wednesday, 25 June
Its just nice to hear from other moms in the same boat! She is just so on the go all the time. I can somewhat to relate to the 10 hour days. My husband is a pharmacist & right now this area is short handed so he's working 5-6 10hr days a week so he's not home much & when he is he just wants some down time. We try to go to the pool several times a week because it wears her out so I try to plan it around when it will be her naptime by the time we are done. That is so sweet that your son will kiss your belly! We ask Claire where baby brother is & she pokes at my tummy. I am with you on the always being tired, too! So are you having a boy or girl this time?

lindsaylee - Wednesday, 25 June
I am pretty sure we are the only ones =) I just get all excited about stuff and can't quit!My Dr. said this baby is going to be a big one! I am definately not planning on having another for a while atleast til this one is out of diapers.I'm also hoping to God I don't have to go through anymore summers pregnant.

lindsaylee - Tuesday, 24 June
I am soooo ready to not be pregnant! I have already started looking at cute little Halloween costumes for our son!

beansmommy - Tuesday, 24 June
Hey,
Thanks for the advice. My hair is in desperate need of something and I think highlights would help.
I've heard mixed opinions but no one has really said it will harm the baby. I more then likely just going to do it!

Thanks again,
Robin

lindsaylee - Tuesday, 24 June
I think this child is trying to beat his way out! I am hoping I survive the next few months!

lindsaylee - Friday, 20 June
 he is such a cutie!!

Cinxia - Thursday, 5 June
This is my first child, so my experience level isn’t all that great. The reason I ask is because there are no classes that I am available to take and complete at this time, at least, none that the hospital offer.
