Birth Story

I woke up monday morning with mild cramping but didn`t really think much of it ( had a lot of cramping and BH crantractions in the past 2 weeks) and the day went on I started to have quite regular contractions but still wasn`t really sure if this was it cuz i was in much pain just disconfort. By around 5 i noticed the contractions really starting to hurt when i was standing.... so i tried pacing around and going for little walks to speed things up. By 6 we relized that i was contracting about every 3 mins so thought well maybe i should go get checked out, but i was sure i would be sent home!!! When we got there I was only 2 cm, and they told me i could go home if i would be more comfortable there..... but I was`t wasn`t... every contrations came on stronger and faster... but it seemed like the nurses all thought i was nutts and just let me sit there wimpering.... I fel like such a baby.... by 9 ish (don`t remeber the timings much) I was crying with pain and started to dry heave like crazy... that really kick things into gear the and they decided to check me again i was now 3-4 cm and the nurse ended breaking my water when she did so... and thats when we discover that the baby had passed meconium and the doc was really worried seeing as i was only 38 weeks... so he said he was not leaving until the baby born.... thats when i got the epidural..... thank GOD it rocked!!! but shortly there after the babies heart rate started droping with every contractions so the doc decided that was it and it was time to get the baby out NOW!!! so within half an hour i was downstairs getting a c section... it was really scary just cuz there was sooooooo many doctors there just waiting to attend to the baby in distress and my ob looked prettty nervous himself......but at 11 38 he was finally here!!! he was crying before they even got him all the way outta me!!! it was the most amazing experience EVER!!!! it all happened sooooooooo fast and now my bundle of joy is here!!! i`m loving every minute of it :)

How`s my pregnancy doing?

Hi there, I said almost the exact same thing regarding the Braxton Hicks. Good for you to keep up on the running, I thought that I was the only one still going for it. I ran a marathon in my first trimester (Dr. said it was OK), but lately I hear you on the sore back and think that I should lower my mileage (currently 5mi 3x/wk) and days per week I run. I got a maternity support belt that is awesome and really takes the strain off my Buddha belly and that seems to address one of the many discomforts that arise throughout my runs. I guess that just means more swimming and biking :) I don't know about you, but for me, the longer I sit the more pain I am in-my body feels better when I am up and keeping active. How has your running felt? Congrats on your baby boy and on keeping fit.

Hi, I had a lot of pressure last week on my colin. I didnt think it was anything but the Dr sent me t have it checked. ( I have a short cervix anyways). It turned out my cervix was even shorter than previously. I would have it checked out if anything feels strange.

Hey - about that pain, i have been getting it too and I think it has something to do with the baby squishing our bladders. its like a pinch that HURTS like hell right? I hateit. I went to my doc because on top of that I was very crampy after any sort of exersise and he said it is just muscular and everything will be fine! I trust him and this is my 4th baby andhe delivered the first 3! So dont worry about it! Although you may want to go and get a pee test done to be sure you dont have a bladder infection :)

I haven't had many of these pains yet, but with my son, I had them Dr just seemed to think he was moving and hitting a ligament or a nerve to cause the pain and since it would go away pretty fast as soon as he moved it was fine. If you get anymore and they last any longer, try to drink cold water or something to make your baby move and see if that helps. If not, and it is lasting a long time, I would call the Dr.

I have had pain in that same area this last week or two, it just comes and goes... kinda scary but I am not going to worry about it unless it becomes constant

It's probably round ligament pain.. which is just stretching of the muscles.. and yes it hurts bad.. but you little one is growing REALLY fast.. ;) and it also could be a combination or round ligament pain and your baby sitting funny inside you.. Let me know if there's anything else i can help you with!! :) Have a good day!!!
