Friday, 11 April CONGRATULATIONS! She is just beautiful. 20 min of pushing..............amazing. That makes me feel so much better instead of always hearing about women pushing for some terrible amount of hours. KavinsMommy -
Wednesday, 26 Mar Oh okay got chya! Hope your feeling well. KavinsMommy -
Tuesday, 25 Mar Any particular reason he is inducing you then? I would LOVE to be induced at 37 weeks. hoosiermommy -
Thursday, 20 Mar hi - thanks for your note. Very interesting about your sister... how long did it take her to fully go into labor after she went off bed rest? Just curious! alanna -
Sunday, 16 Mar I wasn't having any pains...just pressure mostly, until they started checking my cervix. Now I do have a lot of cramping and back pain with the contractions. You should hope you aren't dialated though! Its too early...you don't want to go through what I am going through...TRUST ME! Give the baby another week or two of patience at least before you start hoping for dialation. I know your anxious but again TRUST ME!!!! whitneyc -
Monday, 3 Mar I'm not sure if sweeping the membranes and stretching the cervix are the exact same thing.. but anyway, he's going to start doing it when I'm 37 weeks. I'm 35 weeks and 4 days.. so probably in a week or two. babyontheway2008 -
Saturday, 1 Mar I know exactly what you are talking about my friend had it done by her dr. there is a technical term for it but I can not remember the name, she said it was uncomfortable when they do it but it is fast and that she would spot a little afterward but it is suppose to stimulate something to encourage labor. baby2soondue -
Saturday, 1 Mar each person reacts different with a membrane sweep. with my first child i had reduced movements at 40 weeks 2 days, they put me on a trace, her heartrate was dropping to 55 beats per min, the doc gave me a membrane sweep and sent me home. i had her 6 hours later. it brought on contractions straight away jenn1022 -
Saturday, 1 Mar When I was in my 9th month with my first the doctor ' scratched the membranes' and I didn't know what it meant I still don't really so anyway they told me it just softens things up in there, and I lost my mucous plug the next day and went into labor a week later. Anyways That is all I know about it and hope it is somewhat helpful! dazedandconfused -
Saturday, 1 Mar Hi, my mid wife started sweeping my cervix at 37 weeks. Same thing as what your talking about. It doesnt really bring labor faster but usually prevents you from going over your due date. She did say the baby may come upto 4 days early with the sweep, thats what im hoping for!! Good luck. garciawendy7 -
Saturday, 1 Mar I think they are talking about stripping your membrane,, he just sticks fingers and goes around it to make baby come down sooner,,,they done that 2 times to me, and so far no luck....lucky me!! smurfmv -
Saturday, 1 Mar My doctor has talked about stripping my membrane which helps possibly put you into labor a little sooner but that is the only thing he has mentioned to me. whitneyc -
Saturday, 1 Mar My doctor told me the same thing except he called it 'stretching' the cervix. He told me he would start doing it at 37 weeks. It looks like I will experience it before you, so just remind me to tell you how it goes! bvalley1982 -
