I have been checking out this website for the past couple of months and its interesting to see so many different stories and experiences from everyone so I thought I would finally join in... I discovered that I was pregnant in the end of October, which was an extremely unexpected surprise considering that I have been successfully taking the pill for over 10 years. The doctors seem to think that some antibiotics I took before a dentist appointment had something to do with it but I guess we will never know for sure... I have been a very career focused single woman for the past 7 years and this changes alot for me. I was not sure of how to react at first. I was scared then excited; I can't even really put into words all of the emotions that went through my head. After a brief period of soul searching, I came to the realization that things happen for a reason. The baby's dad and I are going to try to make things work together (we have been "friends" for over 4 years). Even if things don't work out between us this baby will have a loving family environment no matter what. After some planning, both of us have accepted reality and are preparing to welcome this baby into the world. In early February, we found out that we are having a baby boy... I still can't believe it. I still haven't told my family yet (amazingly no one has really noticed I think its because I am pretty tall and not showing much yet) but I can't keep the secret for much longer... This is probably the last thing in the world my family and friends would expect me to tell them right now but they will get over it....
So far I haven't had much morning sickness or much of anything really except a kidney stone which I would definately trade for all of the symptoms I didn't experience. It took a whole day in the hospital and a week after that to get rid of the stones and they could only give me some Tylenol for the pain. Luckily everything is better now and I'm feeling alot of baby movements now which is pretty cool.
Well thanks for stopping by and reading my crazy ramblings.... It would be great to talk to anyone due around the same time or anyone at all for that matter. :) Wishing a happy and healthy pregnancy to all...
