Our baby is almost 3 months old and he has brought so much joy to our lives. Here's what he is doing lately, cooing, sucking thumb, repeating sounds, sleeping through the night (most nights) smiling up a storm and drinking a whopping 7 onces each feeding. At his last check up he was 13.5 pounds! 90th percentile!

Thanks. I noticed a woresening with the water. So strange, since with everything else they tell you to drink more water.

ok. It was my understanding that if the baby is big and has little amniotic fluid, a NST is recommended. At least that is what my doctor has said. I agree if you have GD, it is also recommended.
My baby is big actually but my doc is not concerned as she has plenty of fluid.
Also it is my understsanding that if there are other concerns/risks the doc may opt for NST, like in your case, high BP.

yeah, i was hospitalized for a week before and they had to do 2 NST's a day.ugh, so uncomfy, i could only lay one way when they did em 4 me cuzit was the only position we could get his heart beat good. but it should only be for one hour (still along time) unless his heartrate isnt consistent.some days i had to go an hour 1/2 b/c he would keep movin away from the moniter. but if i was you, id watch the clock n let the nurses know when its been an hour so they dont 'forget' about u,thats annoying!

I have to have the NST weekly until i have my daughter, she wasnt moving much yesterday when i went so they gave me a cold capri sun juice drink and that got her moving like crazy.

hi i had the same problem with the baby sleeping during my non stress tests last year.. i started to bring a huge water bottle filled with lots of ice and water, starting drinking it on my way up in the elevator... and got that baby jumping..i literally was out of there within a half hour after that..Good luck!

Cryptic304 - Saturday, 16 Feb
wow sounds like your NST's are going to be rough. I didnt even have to do them with my first pregnancy but I do with this one. I have to go two times a week and then once a week to my diabetes/high risk pregnancy dr.

Hi,
I like what you said about enjoying being pregnant. It bothers me a lot of the time when I log on and all of these negetive ladies complaining about being pregnant! I want to smack them! : )
So thank you for turning it around and making it postive! It is the best time in my life and I enjoy every minute! It is a gift from God! : ) Kelli

I've gained like 28 pounds, it must all be baby, and in my legs and boobs, and the bigger those get the smaller my belly looks so that might me one of the reasons.

Where do you live that you're getting 3 baby showers? Damn,,Im only getting one and I still dont know the date. About the elective induction,,my Dr. said they'll do it if I want it,,(and I do)My first pregnancy was smooth and relatively pleasant, not this one,,,so if I dont go into labor early I will def. have the paperwork filled out to be induced on day one of week 39. Thanx for all of your comments.

Ok so the chicken and the pasta are really good ideas and my Aunt is a great cook. And having people bring dessert is a great idea! I didn't even think about that! Now I am hungry, :) Thanks so much for your help! I will let ya know what happens!

jenn1022 - Tuesday, 5 Feb
Thank you. Here is what I know so far, we are having it at a family members house its going to be just family, my Aunt's and cousin's so I would guess less than 20 people, probably more around 10 or so. The budget is somewhere around 300$$ Thanks Sharon, You rock :)

Hi,
Thanks for the encouragement and nice words. I have been struggling with this pain and there is nothing I can do but just wait. I think I might get a pedicure. I sure do need one. :) Take care and thanks again

Wow... i really loved reading 'being a mom'. I have two children already and I'm pregnant with our third. Everything in 'being a mom' really does express the wonderful, terrifying experience of being a mom. It is so true that you really don't understand it until it happens to you, doesnt matter how many books you read or how much advice you get. Goodluck with your baby boy x

It made me laugh to read that you just have to stop taking things out of your hospital bag. I haven't packed mine yet for that exact reason. With my first I packed way ahead of time and by the time I actually went into labor there was hardly anything left in it. Most of my favorite things that I would want at the hospital are also my favorite things that I want on a regular basis.

Cryptic304 - Monday, 4 Feb
I know it's a little early...but...

I love brad paisley =] hah
but yeah,im sure the dr would sign my leave papers, im high risk anyway, i feel like such a cry baby aha. i know pregnancy can be hard, but my 1st wasnt like this at all. i worked until i went into labor.

ashleygray - Wednesday, 30 Jan
I really dont know how i do it either, my husband told me to go ahead and take my leave, but to wait til next week when i get paid so i can have one more full paycheck. i just dont know what to do. im being induced march 19th, so i have 7 weeks left, i guess if i go back to work when the babys 6wks ill be off for 12 weeks, so that wont be too bad.

DianaC86 - Tuesday, 29 Jan

Hi There! Thanks for the message. You're soooo lucky to only have gained 17 lbs so far. I could never get that lucky :o) I'm already about 30, even with not being able to eat LOL!
