This is my story:

After being told at 13 that i wasnt going to have babies because i had twisted falopian tubes, And after being with my man for 6 years without being visited by the stork, i figured the doctor that had diagnosed me had been right.

At 22, after being with my husband for 6 years, I had decided i was dying. I didnt really see any other explaination as to why i had completely lost my appetite and was feeling very very sick. I was tired and Headachey and felt sick 24/7 so i figured, yep Im dying. i decided it was time to go to the doctor.

Knowing that the first thing the doctor ever asks is "could you be pregnant" even if you go into the clinic with a broken ankle, i thought i would take a pregnancy test just so i could confirm that i wasnt pregnant to the doc.

Sending my husband down to the market at 11pm to get a test it hadnt even crossed my mind that i was infact pregnant, cos i knew i wasnt...i was dying.

Taking the test and waiting was no problem for me cos i knew it was going to be negative, cos i couldnt have babies. But 5 mins later as i picked up the test to confirm what i knew already, My hand was shaking uncontrolably, i saw 2 lines...2 lines, 2 lines was a positive result.

As there had been 3 tests in the pack, i preceeded to take the other 2 tests...sure that the 1st had been wrong, but 30mins later 3 tests down, i was sitting on the couch in shock.

IM PREGNANT?!!

Anyways 4 months later the shock is gone, ive never been happier especially now the morning/noon/night sickness has FINALLY ended, and my baby doesnt stop moving.

Congrats to all the other fat bellied woman out there!!

Much love x0x

20/12/07 - 22w1d:

Hi Ladies! 22w1d...had 20 week scan about 2 and a half weeks ago. Its was soooo good to see my lil creation up on the screen. Me and my man had talked about keeping baby's gender a surprise, something to push for...And we managed to make it through the scan without asking! It was REALLY hard, I think it would be nice to know what it is, but if I found out I woulda been disapointed in myself for not being able to be strong and wait. So I have to have another scan at 33 weeks, which is begining of march, to find out if the placenta has moved up, because it was very low, covering the birth canal, so fingers crossed cos i really dont want a C-Section. But all I have to do is make it through the 33 week scan, without finding out the sex and I'll be on the home straight! Just gotta hope baby keeps its legs closed!

Apart from that all is well! I feel good, getting bigger and bigger...I think I'm finally putting on a couple of pounds, things are looking a little fleshier (damn) Just stay away stretchmarks!!! Bub is moving heaps, its lovely! I've cut my work hours in half, 40hrs on my feet was just too much to deal with, but works been great! I've started buying clothes, which has been hard cos there isnt really alot of neutral stuff out there, but I'm going with greens blues yellows and purples. so its ok! Anyway thats about all I have to report! Much love to you all, take care of those beautiful bellies, and baby dust to all. Siobhan x0x

You have a 21% chance of having a boy.
And you have a 78% chance of having a girl

And Here's Why...
You are carrying the extra weight out front, so it's a boy.
The hair on your legs is not growing any faster during your preganacy, so it's a girl.
Girls are carried high. You are going to have a girl.
Sleeping in a bed with your pillow to the south indicates that you will be having a girl.
Your feet are not colder than they were before pregnancy. You are having a girl.
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread. You are having a girl.
Dad-to-be hasn't been gaining weight along with Mom-to-be, so it will be a girl.
The maternal grandmother doesn't have gray hair (dyed or natural), so a girl will be born.
You had morning sickness early in pregnancy, so you are expecting a girl.
You are looking particularly good during pregnancy. Therefore, it must be a boy, because girls steal their mother's looks.
Your chest development has been quite dramatic during pregnancy. You should expect a girl.
Since the sum of the mother's age at conception and the number of the month of conception is an odd number, it will be a girl.
A needle on a thread held over you belly moves from side-to-side, so it will be a girl.
Your urine is a dull yellow color, so you will have a girl.
You are craving sweets, which means that it is a girl.
Your nose hasn't changed during pregnancy, which indicates a girl.
You have been craving meats or cheeses, so it is a boy.
Your baby's heart rate is 140 or more beats per minute, so it's a girl.
You must have orange juice every day, so it's a girl.
You are not having headaches, so it's a girl.
Your belly looks like a watermelon, so it's a girl.
You show the back of your hand, so it's a boy.
You use the handle, so it's a boy.

Well ladies, i gave birth to a GORGEOUS (everyone says that tho) baby boy on the 26th of april. heres my story:

At around 7pm friday night i decided to go for a swing at the playground, as it was my duedate and i'd been told it helped get labour started. i got home and started cooking dinner, halfway through cooking dinner my tummy started hurting...kinda like gas/upset tummy/period pain, and i thought nah surely not...but it hurt enough to go sit down and let my hubby finish cooking tea. by about 8 i was pretty sure it was labour, but still, until i got to the hospital and they told me i was 4cm i really believed it. I laboured for 16 hours, right from the start contractions were around 5 mins apart, and obviously got closer and closer. went to hospital 8 hours in and was 4cm dialated. went up to labour room and laboured there for around 6 hours it was INCREDIBLY painful as felix was completely posterier...he was facing the wrong way, so that means his spine and the back of his head grate and graze their way along my spine as he was moving down. and OMG i have NEVER felt pain like it, but i was determined to have a baby painkiller free and i did!! i didnt even touch gas. so screaming away my midwife asked if i wanted her to run me a bath, she checked my cervix and i was 6-7cm dialated, so i said YES PLEASE and my back was UNBELIEVABLY sore, i couldnt feel contractions at all just a screaming burning pain in my back. so i had a bath run and somehow made it into the bath...the second i got in i felt the OVERWHELMING urge to push, its just completely unstoppable, u have no control and to try not to push is the hardest thing in the world! as i was told i couldnt have the baby in the bath i scrambled out and lay on the floor in agony, but i DID NOT want to have my baby on the floor of a bathroom, so i somehow and i mean SOMEHOW made my way back to my labour room, and after an hour and a half pushing felix's heartrate dropped rapidly and when i heard the midwife say that and saw how her role had changed from happily watching me progress to looking worried etc i pushed harder and more determined then i ever thought i could and within a minute felix crowned and seconds later he was out. unfortunatly i hemorraged afterwards and had to get special attention, but it didnt matter to me because...

As i held my baby boy in my arms, and he took his first breath and his first scream, my whole world turned upside down spun around, fell apart and then came together again, I became a mother, a mum, a mummy. i cannot, words cannot describe that feeling, but its incredible and amazing and beautiful, and i'll tell u what, my love and my heart and soul grows each and every day along with my amazing child.

Felix weighed a whopping 9lbs and is PILING on the weight, which is lovely. he is healthy and happy, and is beginning to laugh and smile which MELTS MY HEART. he can already at almost 6wks roll from his tummy to his back and hold himself up on his elbows. so he's a big strong boy.

well...

Best of luck to all the mothers to be out there, much love to u all, and congrats to all the new mummies, and baby dust to all those TTC x0x

13 weeks:

Felix is now 13wks old. And growing sooo fast. Hes such a little boy now, not a baby. He weighs 8kg which is about 17lbs, hes such a chub. I see newborns and even 1-2 month olds and they look sooooo little, kinda makes me sad, cos I realise just how quickly they do grow up, and I'm too scared to blink incase I miss something. He still doesnt sleep through the night, He doesnt go down till 11pm (sometimes later) and wakes up a few times till 10am when hes up for the day. He's sooo happy though, he laughs and smiles all the time and chats away, he's such a chatterbox. He only ever cries when he's tired and it's usually not to hard to get him to sleep if he is tired, we just bounce him in his baby hammock and hes out like a light in 5 mins or so. Wont sleep in his cot yet, getting a little worried about when he grows out of his hammock, the only other way he will go to sleep on my boob, so I hope he's not sleeping with us till he's 20. He is so active, but has been since he was about 4wks, he kicks and wriggles sooo much, I really have to get a good hold on him most of the time cos he would just wriggle his way away from me if he could. He kicks his legs and waves his arms so much, while giggling his head off. hes so hyperactive, crazy bugger! He's almost sitting up on his own. I think in a few weeks he will be, he has a strong neck and back, he just wobbles everynow and then and falls forward, but hes getting there. Still loves having baths and being naked...smiles and laughs when its nappy change time, which is good, cos I've seen babies screaming when they're getting a bum change. He gets grissly when its time to put clothes back on. Anyway all in all, he is an amazing little boy, so much fun (yet so challenging) I love being his mum, and am loving watching him grow!

x0x

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
