Hi all

Starting to feel really pregnant now. I have'nt really been sick i've just felt sick alot and really really tired all the time. I get so hungry that if i don't eat i feel sick!! I already have a little boy who is 4 and a half and i am desperate for a little girl as i dont plan to have any more. I had my scan at 11weeks 5 days and all was well so i am really relieved as my first scan with my little boy was really traumatic as he had a large amount of fluid on the back of his neck. I had to go to Kings college hospital reguarly and had numerous amounts of tests. This time i can enjoy the pregnancy rather than worrying all the time. I am due on 31st July and have opted for a home birth which some of my family aren't keen on. My midwife is great and she said there is no reason why i shouldn't be able to have a home birth providing all goes well. I will be going back to the midwife on Feb 14th to hear the heartbeat and she will refer me for blood tests-ouch!

Tuesday, 22 Jan

ive been thinking of some names and i have 2 i really like amie for a girl which means beloved and nathan for a boy which means gift of god let me know what you ladies think. I have been trying to listen to my babies heartbeat for the past week but couln't hear a thing, it's definately working as it detects my own heartbeat. Any suggestions?

Sat, 23 Feb

Ive just got over being really sick with flu and tonsilitis and i am so relieved to be on the mend as i have never been so ill in my life. I had to go to hospital twice. I had my blood tests done last week and left great big bruises as they couldn't get any blood from me. Im waiting for the results now and am a little nervous because of all the problems i had with my son. I waiting for my appointment to come through for my scan, i cant wait keep your fingers crossed for me that i am having a girl.

Friday, 29 Feb

Got my scan date through at last 25th March. Cant wait!!!

Sat, 8 March

Had my blood test results back everything fine phew! Down syndrome came back 1 in 25,000 so really pleased. Baby is moving loads really strong kick and doing somersaults. Its going so fast i cant keep up. Hurry up 25th march!

Mon,24th March

Scan tommorow whoo hoo after all this time. Still i cant help but feel nervous, i will be back on tommorow to let everyone know how it goes!

Tue,8th April

I had my scan and they told me its a boy, it wasnt very clear and me and my partner didnt get to see, i was really sad and shocked. when she walked out of the room i cried. I was really down for a few days but my family were really supportive and i realised it doesn't really matter as i will love him as i love my first son. Plus my partner promised if i still felt that i wanted a girl we could have another in a couple of years!!!!! I dont know if i do really want any more and theres no guarentee the third will be a girl either. I've read stories about eating particular foods and all the myths but there is no evidence to back them up. Any way i am looking forward to having our 4d scan done on 3rd may in Canterbury so i can bond with him some more.

sat,26th April

I have been nesting alot in the past week, i want go get so much done before the baby comes its stressing me out but i cant leave it till its all done. I have been giving my poor hubby a hard time too lecturing him to get a move on with a list of jobs to do as long as my arm! Ranging from gardening decorating half the house and getting the nursery ready. I really cant help it, i think its partly to do with the fact that i am having a home birth. 1 more week till 4d scan, whopee. Gettin really bad heartburn and vivid dreams now and a pains in my bottom!

Mon, 5th May

I had my 4d scan done and it was amazing. I couldnt believe how much he looks like my first son and his dad. He slept all the time and we couldnt wake him lol. She double checked to make sure he was definatly a he but i was ok when she said he was for sure i was too engrossed in how he looked. He is breech at the moment which is why i am so uncomfortable sometimes. She also said that he looked really comfy in that position and his feet were almost touching his face and that alot of babies in that position dont always turn. I gulped. I really hope he does or I can kiss the home birth goodbye! still theres plenty of time yet. I will see my midwife Thursday at long last so i can ask that she keeps check on it.

Mon, 12th May

Blood tests again and they had to attempt it 4 times before they could get any blood! ouch lol. I am dreading the next lot i have to have, i just hope I dont need iron tablets. I saw my midwife and he was head down so that was a relief i just hope he stays there. I was quiet shocked as she doesnt need to see me for another 6 weeks which will take me to 34 weeks i thought she would see me more often now!

Tue, 1st July

Thank heavens were in july i dont know how much more i can take. I am so fed up already. I feel like i weigh a ton!! I cant go to the toilet and have had to take medication but its not working. Im starting to wonder how long i can keep putting in and nothing coming out before i burst lol. Its making me sluggish miserable and slow. Hurry up baby!

Wed, 9th July

Horray i can definately have a home birth now im 37 weeks so im really relieved. He is very low but im not fully engaged. Im ready when he is!! Just started to be able to go to the loo again normally and can i say what a relief its amazing how much we take our bodies for granted to work and do everything without even thinking about it. My uterine size is 36cm wondered what everyone else is.

Sun, 20th July

Midwife came again everything is fine my uterine size jumped up to 38cm in 1 week! Also we completed the nursery now so i am really relieved. I really want to go into labour now i am getting fed up. Just keep waiting i suppose!

Fri, 25th July

I had midwife visit yesterday everything fine and he is 3/5 engaged. She told me lots of sex and fresh pinapple should do the trick so im holding her to it now!!!! I really didnt think i would get to 40 weeks although theres still time yet its starting to feel like its never going to happen. My husband is getting jumpy whenever i call he answers really quickly desperate for me to say im in labour because he really wants to come home from work. charming lol!

Tue, 29th July

Ive been getting pains since 10 am but they are slightly irregular and some stronger than others so its really hard to know whether its the real deal but my instinct tells me it is but its early yet. lets see what happens in the next few hours. wish me luck

I thought you were having a girl because your belly looks almost identical to mine. I initially wanted a boy at first but my 19 week scan said girl. soo many ppl told me they can tell it's a girl by how i carry high and how round my belly looks, well; we know now not to believe those myths! have a great day =)

1st-time-mommy - Monday, 5 May
that looks like my belly too!

aville - Monday, 5 May
I think you look just about right for 27 weeks. My belly looks very similar. And congrats to you for all the energy! Get as much done now as you can!

Thanks for your comment. It's good to know I am not the only one out there with a breech baby! I guess he really is comfortable in there. My little boy is laying just like yours. His butt it down and to the left and his head is up to the right of my belly button with his feet up over his head. So flexible!! Your pictures are great too! So precious! I have a print out of mine up on my desk at work, and I can't help but start at it all day long! Hope you are doing well, and thanks again!

He is absolutely precious. I think he looks a little like you too. Are you bonding with him now?? How could you not! Hope all is well with you and your little munchkin!

Hi saw your message in the 27 week blog. I haven't seen a doctor since i went to get my pregnancy confirmed and i have only seen the midwife three times.

The first was 12weeks, then 16, 23, and then every 4 weeks, although i can always phone if concerned. I have been feeling movement all over and sometimes really low but a couple of days later baby changes postition.

I can completely agree with you on the nesting my poor husband looks like he's about to have a baby after reading my to do list. Anyway good luck with the scan and the rest of your pregancy!!

I had the same exact pain at the beginning of my 2nd trimester and the dr told me it was my sciatic nerve and she gave me muscle relaxers which made the constipation a lot worse and I had to sleep on my right side for a while..it sucked..Hope you feel better!

mommy2ck - Sunday, 27 April
hey there - about your pain....sounds like it's sciatica. and it's terrible pain! i had it with my first pregnancy and with this pregnancy too. i get it in my right butt cheek and upper leg, it's like a quick shooting pain but lasts for several seconds...it's so bad that i cant move until the pain is gone. my doc said it's caused by the position of the baby...they are resting on the sciatic nerve. the only thing that made it feel better was getting a professional massage. i had to get them once a week for the pain to stop for good. just make sure you see a profesional maseuse, they need to be extra careful on you since you're pregnant. oh and stretching also helps a little bit.

Thank you so much for your comment. I will certainly keep you posted on our progress. Hope you and your little one are well.

billybump - Friday, 4 April
thanks for your comment on my bump.... sometimes I feel small and others I feel huge... it is jsut grwoing fast now. Feel very pregnant. how are you?

suziewin - Thursday, 3 April
Hiya - saw your comment about SSP. You can get a SSP1 form from your employer and get incapacity benefit. It wont be as much as your earnings (£62 p/w) however it is better than nothing. Good luck.

becky468 - Friday, 28 Mar
Mine are in my thighs in the back of them I get them every night.

firstbabyt - Thursday, 27 Mar
Hey same thing happened with me today...We both were 99% sure that it was a girl but it turned down to be a boy..We both were quite upset about it mainly because my Mother in Law passed away last may 2007 and when my hubby heard I am preg he was very sure it was going to be a girl and she's gonna be like his mom...and I have always wanted a girl thought of having a boy never crossed my mind..So was kinda upset today when they said its surely a baby boy...and this is our first..Anyways we have to accept the fact and we r obviously going to love our baby no matter of sex..

mumofsix - Wednesday, 26 Mar
Give yourself time. Once your little baby is here you would never want to exchange them for another sex. I had three girls in a row and wouldn't change it for a minute even though each time I wanted a boy. I did get my boy in the end but rest assured you will get over your disapointment.

AZangelbaby - Wednesday, 26 Mar
Hi there, I just wanted to share with you that I totally cried when we found out the sex of our baby as well. There are so many emotions tied into the 2nd trimester ultrasound. Do not feel guilty for truly expressing your emotions. I thinks it may be a common reaction we just don't hear about as much. Since the beginning everyone told me I was going to have a boy as my Parents have mostly grand daughters. Also my Husband truly thought it was going to be a boy as well. When we found out it was a girl, I broke down somewhat and felt I couldn't connect. This was at 19weeks. I am now at 22weeks and am feeling ecstatic about the entire pregnancy. I think of it as a stepping stone I had to experience. Perhaps it makes us stronger. I wish you all the best.

hcorreia - Wednesday, 26 Mar
Ok so I am having a girl this time and my husband wanted a boy. It's hard because I am so excited about it and didn't feel that he was at all. Well I also have an older girl and boy from a previous marriage and I can tell you, I was close to the girl when she was really little but I am so close to my son and love the bond that we have. Boys are so good to thier mothers. Every day when I get home from work, he comes out to the car to help me with my things into the house and is always around for me. Not the same with the girl at all. Enjoy the boys, they are always closer to thier mothers.

wedward - Tuesday, 25 Mar
I was so sure I was having a girl. I would daydream all the time of the future and the things we would do together. I would look at cute little dresses and planned a girls nursery in my head because I was so sure. Turns out she's a he!! It took some time to adjust my thinking but now I am so excited to be having a son. Let it settle in for a while and I think you will feel differently with time. I always hear that boys are easier and more loving towards mom too. Can't wait for that!!
