Mya was born on February 11, 2008 @ 4:58a.m. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. I went in to be induced Sunday night, the 10th. They started induction around 10 p.m. I refused pain relief at first. After a few hours, the contractions were getting closer together, and more intense, I had a narcotic, it lasted for about 30 minutes, then the resident came in to place a scalp fetal monitor and it was over! I was in soooo much pain after that, I requested the epidural. As soon as they gave it to me, which took 3 tries by the way, they checked me to see what I was immediately and I was 9 1/2 c m. Needless to say, I never did get to feel the effects of the epidural. Next time, I will be requesting it ASAP! I pushed hard for 2 hours, it took so long because she was coming out sunny side up. She ended up with bruising on her head and face from scraping against my pubic bone on the way out. I would have to say it was the most intense thing I've ever experienced. It took 7 hours for my little bean to get here once labor was started.
