Hello everyone! My name is Shelly, 35, and I am going to be a first time mom. My husband and I were married in May 2007. I wanted to wait a few months before getting pregnant because I wanted to make sure the two of us could live together first! LOL. As soon as we started to try, we got pregnant right away. I wasn't too prepared for that. I really thought it would take a few months, and I really didn't want to be super pregnant over the summer months, but I suppose that is why we have air conditioning and/or central air, and flip flops for swollen feet. At least I will get to wear some cute summer dresses too! So far so good with this pregnancy. I have only had 2 doctors appts, and heard the baby's heartbeat once. Our ultra sound isn't scheduled until 04/21. I do not want to know the sex of our baby. I want to be surprised! My husband desperately wants to know, but my body, and I win.

Hi all here, i finally had my baby boy Christian. he was born at home on thursday 7.45pm (5 days over due) weighing (3kg) 6lb 9 1/2 oz, Had an apgar reading of 10 on first check after birth, labour was 3 hrs 16 mins long, started off as my mucus plug came away at 11.35 am then nothing til 4.40pm when i started having contractions every 10 mins for about an hour then they came every 7 mins then every 4 mins which is when we called for the midwife who arrived at 7.20pm, i then settled onto the floor as had been standing and bp and babies heart beat etc checked, i wanted to push and suddenly my waters burst it was like a bulge had come out and popped, then i pushed and the head was out then after another push the body arrived, it was so relaxed and baby was perfect.the uterus started to contract down very quick and part of the placenta may have been left inside? so have to watch for infection. Bbay is a very content and breastfed soon after birth adn is doing very well.his brothers adn sisters adore him and me i am so very happy. i do have aches in my legs and buttocks and as body getting abck to normal but know this is short term so ok with that. i feel i had a calm andrelaxing labour and midwife and hubby were surprised too how nice it all went.. I want to thank everyone on here for their support and hope that those who are still waiting will deliver soon, all the best to you all .from a veyr happy mummy xxxx take care ladies..

Hi there guys i had my baby last night ,he is so adorable and very content, weighed 6lb 9 1/2 oz,
he had apgar score of 10 quick after birth,doing so well i am so happy,kids love him to bits too..

Hi there guys just a quick note to say i hope you are all coping well with the pregnancy, not long now and those who are uncomfy hope you got your feet up, weatehr in the uk is cooler todya thank god!! its too much being uncomfy and heat bearing down on us too..
as much as the kids want the paddling pool out i am happy to wait , i fancy trying it out myself asi brought a large one for all the kids to go in andi will have to be out ther with them as its so large and i can`t leave them due to the dangers.. i have packed my hospital bag incase as still homebirthing but you never know, and got car seat and baby clothes are washed and ready, also bedding ,i have put it in asealed bag/case which will keep it fresh, that way i don`t have to do it all again and i have enough washing as it is..lol.. there will be 9 of us to wash for this winter phew!!!!
well take care nad hope you are all almost ready if not ready for the little arrival don`t forget those car seats for trip home from hospital in th euk you cant` leave without it...

Thank you for asking! I went to L&D with all the symptoms of a kidney infection, but the nusre said that everything looked great after she checked my urian. The doctor said it was possable that i am having contractions but as long as they go away im ok!

i don`t know if they are content in the womb that they will be wen they are born? i know all my bbaies were content..its ony the last one that cried more than the others.. she is so mummies girls now .she gets upset if i go out without her..lol..but all my children are close to me..i have always wanted that for them..

Thanks for the response earlier I need all the help I can get I am a first timer and even tho I have read a ton of prego books some of this stuff just isn't in them ya know! I see you just recently had your sugar test how did you do?? I have mine tomorrow morning and I am not looking forward to it at all! I sure hope I pass it the first time I do not want the 3 hr test!! Yikes!

Ah yes it's making more sense now. My OB gave me the sheet of paper to schedule me for a glucose screening and I asked more questions. He mentioned you only do the 3 hr test if you fail ...I hope I pass too ! All the best to you and thanks for your response. Seems there's so much to know and learn during pregnancy and this glucose screening thing I wasn't totally infomed about. Good luck and hopefully no 3 hour screening for either of us!

Hi Shelly, good luck with your test Monday. You know all day I tried not to eat anything bad. I think I ate strawberries and grapes in the morning or something... and then I was starving by the time my appt. came around so like an hour before I had some walnuts... I thought I was doing pretty good lol, guess not. For Monday though I am going to do what you said, stick to protein and veggies!! Thanks for your advice! Let me know how yours turns out!
