having a baby

I am 24 and I live in the UK with my husband Tony. We have been married for nearly 4 years. For the last 5 years we have been trying for a baby. In the last few years I have been pregnant 9 times but had one ectopic and 8 m/c. It has been difficult but the love, strenghth and support we have has got us through.

I am Anti-Nuclear Antibody Positive (ANA). There is an association between ANA and recurrent pregnancy loss. My consultant has reccomended that I take 75mg Asprin on the confirmation of a positive pregnancy test then once a scan has confirmed viability I will have regular Tinzapraine injections throughout pregnancy.

The Latest!!!

I was due on my period on Sat 12th July but had no period pains, I did a pregnancy tests x 4 and they were all positive. We were not trying yet but I suppose thats the best time. We were going to go on our holiday in August first. I went straight out and bought some Asprin as recomended by the consultant. I am really scared because if the treatment does not work then there is no more hope for us, so fingers crossed. I telephoned the consultants PA to inform him and get an appointment. We go to see him and for a scan on the 29th July. Usually we go slighlty earlier but they have said they need to see a heartbeat before they can give me the injections. The appointment seems so long away and I am sure it will drag. I am really scared but will take one day at a time and hope that this time it is meant to be.

My blogs will tell my story so far and what has happened on my scans.

The main thing is that I am going to be a Mum!! I can't believe it has finally happened and that we have heard the heartbeat and seen our little one moving around looking healthy! x

I'll try my very best!! I keep asking my hubby if he really wants to wait until the birth to find out or if he wants to know at 19 weeks - i know it wouldn't take much for me to change my mind and find out then! Unfortunately though he wants to wait....damn!

so i guess you didnt get a chance to hear the heartbeat, how long did you try to find it?yeah it was a big releif to hear the heartbeat,am feeling alot better
the pain is 90% better, its easier to get out of bed,now it's just these nose bleeds, and sick in the stomach all day
i havent gain not one pound,in fact i have lost about 5 pounds,dr. didnt seem to concerned since am a little over weight......am still at the stage if had to do all over again,i really dont think i would have done it.......
but am glad that this one have a better chance,so if anything happens i know i have done all that i could have done, but all in all eveything is gone well, its just moving so slowly,i need to do something but i dont want to over do it

I am going really well now. Actually starting to eat properly again which is a relief! I go back to the ultrasound place on the 27th Oct for my 19 week scan. Determined not to find out the sex of the baby (have always wanted it to be a surprise) but it will be soooo tempting to find out! Are you going to tell everyone once you find out or keep it your secret?

Ugh, I fell down the stair no less than TWO times today. How fucking shitty. My heel on my rather gorgeous shoes kept getting caught in the hem on the bottom of my gloriously wide legged maternity trousers.. I've got a sore arse cheek on the left and the small of my back is sore from the first fall, and I have grazed knees and an even more agigtated back from the second fall. It's a small mercy that I do actually hold onto the railing and that I didnt fall from the very top of the flight. Both times it was the last 3 o4 steps. Going to see what my back's like tomorrow morning, if still sore, I'm going toring in sick and ring my midwife and see if she wants me to go in and ge checked - I'm sure everything will be fine though right? What do you guys think??

my appt. went fine heard the baby heartbeat, was very excited to hear it again, this appt didnt take as long as the others did....i know how you feel about the doppler
when the doctor came in,i tried to find the heartbeat after about 3 to 5 min he found it,it seemed like a life time....he found the baby heartbeat close around my belly button, your about the same as many weeks as i am so i would start around there and see if you hear it.....if not dont panicjust keep trying

monalisalb - Thursday, 25 September
where did you get your doppler from, and was it very expensive?

monalisalb - Thursday, 25 September
i am so happy that everything turned out just fine, know that you have the doppler,it will ease your mind,i wish i had one,i have another appt.tommorrow maybe i'll get a chance to hear my little baby hearbeat again

I'm ok thanks hun...just abit tired, dont get time to stop as Grace has started to get about alot more!!Other than the bleed is everything ok with you! (have you used your doppler yet?) I had one of those summer monitors with Grace but gave up on it as i could never hear anything and it used to stress me out...lol xx
