Brief history.
Jan 06 various consultations with my fertility doc. Started to use clomid with a very positive view, we did have some success.
Jan 07 - positive pg test - Clomid used
April 07 - Miscarriage
Aug 07 - positive pg test - Clomid used
Oct 07 - Miscarriage
Investigations under fertility consultant. SALP and various bloods, all returned normal.
17th April 08 - Another positive pg test. Clomid not used this time. Started takin baby asprin (150 daily) now to thin the blood to the lining of the uterus.
I am really hoping this pregnany runs smoothly. I am now taking baby asprin daily, and starting my hCG injections sometime this week, I'm waiting for the hospital to call me with my appointment. I will have hCG hormone injections until week 16, twice weekly.
21st April 2008 - Mon
Hospital rang me today. My hCG injections start on Thurs 24th.
24th April - Had my 1st hCG injection today, as the midwife said it isn't a gurantee of a successful pg and if i'm going to miscarry then I still will, but it will give baby a best fighting chance, and my consultant has lots of faith in this course of action. Time will tell now.
May 10th 2008
hCG inj's going well, getting quite nervous now re my early scan on fri 16th. I'm worried the sonographer will be the bearer of bad news, i'm finding it hard to stay positive.
May 15th 2008.
I'm feeling scared now but I thought i'd share this before my scan tomorrow....My last AF started Good Friday and ended Easter Sunday, ovulation 6th April, due 26th Dec (?) Last pg would've been due 16th May same day i'm having my 1st scan, these dates are all poiniant, it says to me it's meant to be this time, lots of little signs from God (and I'm not really religious). Time will tell!
Friday 16th May 2008
What a morning! Today was great. I got to see our baby at long last there was a baby present and it even had a heartbeat, at long last we are officially expecting. I must say though I have put on 5lbs so far.
Tha scan picture isn't very clear but I will add it to my pictures very soon.
I really think the Aspirin and hCG injections helped this pg along.
I was starting to feel queezy but I wasn't sure if it was all in my head or if I was just willing it to happen, now I know the feelings were real.
My next appointment is Fri 13th June, for my next scan (12 wk) and mw appointment.
Thurs 12th June 08. (12 wk scan)
Well, it's another big day tomorrow, fingerscrossed for another healthy baby scan and heartbeat.
I have been feeling terrible lately, sick, tired, just simply feeling rubbish but it is all a good sign and I wouldn't have it any other way. I think my sickness is starting to disappear slowly, I don't get many stomach cramps now, but my breasts are or seem to be a little more tender. I lost about 6lbs a few weeks ago due to feeling so ill but I have put it back on now, i just hope I don't put on too much weight. I am really looking forward to meeting this little miracle.
I hope to post more scan pictures tomorrow, please send me luck.
Friday 13th June
All went very well today, we saw a much bigger baby than four weeks ago. Good hearbeat etc. Baby was very active during the scan and very nice to see. My next scan is in 4 weeks at 16 wks, can't wait. I have posted new pictures too! The scan has brought forward my date by two days, now due 24th Dec 08, but that will probably change again!!!
4th July 08
16 week scan.
All went very well, took our 10yr old with me and it was great, baby was so lively. Looking forward to the 20wk scan on the 6th Aug.
6th Aug 2008
20 wk scan.
We were quite nervous about today but all went very well. The sonographer took her time looking for different markers because we couldn't have the usual blood tests to check for Spina Bifida or downs. She was fantasic and explained every little detail that she was looking at/for. We decided the wk before that we wouldn't find out the sex of the baby, but it was very hard sticking to it at the time of the scan, it would've been so easy to say 'what the heck, pls tell me the sex'. At least we now have a surprise for xmas, and i'm chuffed we didn't find out. We don't plan on doing the nursery until the baby is born anyway, so it hasn't delayed any plans for decorating, there is a chance we may be moving, so we're reluctant to do a great deal. We managed to go away for a last minute holiday after the scan. We probably won't go away next summer, bit harder with a little baby!!!
Good luck to all other expectant mummies, and well done to all those new mummies!!!
