My hubby and I have three children that were all premature. My first was 2 pounds and 9 ounces, Kyndra. My second was only 1 pound, Jacqueline, and my thrid Jacob was only 2 pounds and 5 ounces. They are all healthy and happy kids. We decided to have one more. With my high risk of having an incompetent cervix I will be having a cervical cerclage. We are hoping that since they now know what is causing it I will have a full term pregnancy for this last child we are going to have. I look forward to other people's comments and suggestions especially further into my pregnancy since I have never have been over 6 months pregnant. Good luck to all and can't wait to hear from you. I also posted pictures of my kids when they were born as preemies below.
February 29, 2008
Well, Happy LEAP YEAR!!! LOL I found on this past Monday that I only have 1 centimeter of my cervix left which is not the greatest news since I am just over 23 weeks pregnant. The only thing holding my cervix to gether is the cervical cerclage stitch they put in when I was 13 weeks pregnant. Baby is kicking like he is playing soccer with another baby or something. Its crazy. But I love it because I know he is doing well. I go back to the dr. on Monday for another update on my cervical length. Wish me luck. If I can at least make it to 27 or more weeks things should be ok if he is born early.
January 24, 2008
Well, so far so good. I had my first doctor appointment since my cervical cerclage and she said my cervix is full length and thick. YEAH!!!!!!! Also ITS A BOY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All looks great so far. Thanks everyone
December 27, 2007
Well, I had my cervical cerclage surgery on December 20th and the surgery was a success for them but for me the spinal block only worked 60 percent through and I felt the rest of it. However, everything else is well. I just overcame the flu as of today and hope all is well with everyone else!!!
December 10, 2007
Well, I have had a scare of a lifetime tonight. Everything has been absolutely fine until tonight. I am 12 weeks exactly. I got up from a nap and had to pee. But I started getting really bad gagging due to pregnancy and coughing. The next thing I know I have blood everywhere down my pants. I FREAKED OUT!!!!!!!!! Went to the emergency room and they did every test known to man. BABY IS FINE!!! Heartrate good, growth great!! WHAT THE HEY!! Well, all i can say is thank god and I hope it stays all good. See the dr tomorrow and then again on thursday!
November 13, 2007
Well, I am extremely happy to report that all is WONDERFUL in my pregnancy. The baby's heartrate is 163 and growing perfectly which I am so thrilled about. I go back to the doctor on December 13th to see the specialist where they will do another ultrasound and schedule me for my cervical cerclage when I am 13 to 14 weeks pregnant. YEAHHHHH

November 2, 2007
Well, I met with my OBI and she did all the stuff for my history. So, I go in to see the doctor on November 13, 2007 for an ultrasound and to see the dr. I am suppose to see the other doctor on the 14th for another ultrasound as well. Let you know how it goes.
November 1, 2007
Well, yesterday I spoke with my doctor again and he won't do the cerlage and reccommended that I get a second opinion. He aslo asked me what business I had having another child which really upset me. So, anyway I got my second set of numbers back today and my HCG was 17638 which is ok but should be around 22000. But, my Progesterone was only 11.9 and should have gone up but isn't. They put me on Progesterone Suppositories to hopefully help the baby not miscarry since they have seen a heartbeat. I am so worried but trying to keep a good spirit up. Will keep you updated.
October 30, 2007
Well, my numbers came back. At the time of testing I was 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant. As of that day my Beta HCG was 11, 610 and my Progesterone Level was 13.8. I go back tomorrow to have both rechecked. They said the progesterone level was a tad low and they would like to see it at 18 but ten is the lowest. So, I might have to get progesterone supplements. Otherwise things looked ok. I am hoping they will schedule me for another ultrasound since the heartbeat from what they said had just started and it was only at 85 but once again it had just started beating and it starts around the heart rate of the mother and then increases 3.3 beats a day. Wish me luck all.
October 29, 2007
Well, had my perinatologist appointment today. The heartbeat was only 85 but the size of the baby was right on schedule. They said the heart rate just started and not to worry. It only increases 3.3 minutes each day and since I am only 5.5 weeks pregnant that it sounded right. However, he doesnt want to do the cerclage when I asked him to do it which makes me very weary. Also, they checked my HCG and my Progesterone and I should find that out tomorrow. I might have to take shots to help my progesterone increase. Well other than that all is good. I would scan my picture of my ultrasound but my scanner wont stinking work. Figures. Wish me luck girls. I have another appointment on Wednesday.
October 26, 2007
Well it looks like I get to go back to my old doctor because I got the job I have been wanting. YIPPEE for me huh. Anyway, that is good news for me. Otherwise, I have an ultrasound on Monday and go see my OBGYN again on Wednesday. Wish me luck all!!!
October 22, 2007
Well went to see my OBGYN and everything seemed fine but once again I am just 5 weeks so the ultrasound wasn't going to show anything. So, next Monday I go see the perinatologist (specialty OBGYN) and they will do a transvaginal ultrasound and get me set up for when they are going to do the cerclage. Then on next Wednesday I will see my regular OBGYN again for more specifics. YEAH!!! Well, other than that all is ok. MY morning sickness is only in the evening when I am going to be what a nightmare but all worth it!!!
October 19, 2007
Well, my appointment with my OBGYN was cancelled because he had a last minute emergency so, I have to wait until Monday to see him and get my ultrasound. Then i get to make my perinatology appointment. Wish me luck gals. Anyway, Today we went and took family pictures. Gesh, my kids and hubby hated that. You would think I was dragging them to a Mary Poppins Sing A Long LOL LOL. Updates as soon as I can.
October 18, 2007
Went to the doctor today and saw my OBI Nurse for my history etc. Everything looks good. They gave me more prenatal vitamins. Tomorrow I go see the doctor and have an ultrasound. They are then going to make me an appointment for my perinatology doctor.
October 15, 2007
Well, things are so screwy with my insurance. Since I switched jobs I have new insurance and come to find out I have to switch doctors too. I hate that!! I love my doctor and don't want to switch at all. Well, anyway, I have found another doctor with my new plan and they want to see me on Thursday for history and stuff and then see the doctor on Friday. After that they will set up my perinatology appointment to start tracking my cervix. Wish me luck. Other than that all is ok. I have had a tad of queasiness today and been quite tired. Other than that i am doing well and hope it stays that way. I look forward to hearing from everyone.
October 14, 2007
I decided that I was tired of getting faint positives from the cheapy tests so I went and bought an Answer Pregnancy Test. Didn't even have to use first morning urine. POSITIVE!!! YEAH FOR ME
October 13, 2007
Well, had another faint positive pregnancy test this morning, so I guess I am pregnant. I am going to set up a blood test on Monday. Wish me luck everyone!!
October 12, 2007
Ok, so this morning I took a PG test and then because I was running so late for work I completely forgot to check it. DUH!!! So, when I got home I looked but of course it is no longer valid because it had been too long but it did have a faint line. So, Because I am such an impatient person I retested tonight. I saw once again a faint line. Since I thought it was just in my imagination I took it to my friends and both of them said they saw a faint line. I surely hope it is positive. I am having light cramping and my breasts are sore on the sides. For about 3 days now I have been realy tired but I am trying to not read too much into things. I am sitting here wondering where all my friends went when I was pregnant on here and they don't talk to me much anymore. Has anyone else had the same experience with the faint line? I am not actually late until Tuesday but god I am so impatient its ridiculous. God help me! Wish me luck ladies.

LH Surge today, wish us luck on baby dancing for a baby. I need some serious baby dust this month!! LOL Can't wait to see what happens. AF is suppose to be due on October 9th since I started last month on the 19th. And I have a 27 to 28 cycle.
Pregnancy # 1 - I was 8 weeks and barely knew I was pregnant when I miscarried but never knew why.
Pregnancy # 2 - I became pregnant about 2 months after my miscarriage and things started out fine. We went through normal routine doctor appointments and had our normal ultrasounds but was never able to find out the gender of the baby. I was 27 weeks pregnant and we were at the Christmas Parade and festivities at Union Station in St. Louis. I started having alot of pain every once in awhile then I called my doctor. The nurse that called me back said I just needed to drink more water. So, I did, I drank so much water I could have become a fish. Over the weekend the pains became worse but the doctor kept ensuring me that I was fine. By that Monday I couldn't handle the pain anymore. We went to the hospital and I was already at ten cm. I had her within ten minutes in the ER of the hospital. She weighted 2 pounds and 9 ounces. Fortunately, she was well and home within 6 weeks.
Pregnancy # 3 - SURPRISE TO ME!! Within 3 months I was pregnant again. Since I was young I crazily believed that while breast feeding you couldn't get pregnant. WHAT A LIE! HA I was pregnant again. The hospital thought I had the flu and blood tests came back negative but when they were about to give me medication my test came back positive. I think my mouth actually dropped to the floor and dad's went to China. Hhaaa Seeing that my last pregnancy went array I was monitored supposedly by specialists in St. Louis. I started having contractions at 22 weeks and they put me on Tributeline.(I think I spelled that right) Anyway, the pains got worse and I went to the ER where they picked up my contractions but sent me home anyway. That night I went back to the hospital and was dilated to an 8. They delievered me at 24 weeks by c-section due to her being breech and she weighed 1 pound 5 ounces. She stayed in the hospital for months. Since then she has had over 50 brain surgeries not to mention many other types of surgeries. Today, she is doing well and the last surgery worked better than others. We have been surgery free for a year and a half which is the longest we have ever gone.
Pregnancy # 4 - We had actually decided not to have any more babies due to my complications. However about 5 years later I had spinal meningitis. I was admitted into the hospital for quite awhile and when I came home I had to stay on the medicine for several more weeks. I was feeling fine and things were going then I found out I was pregnant. Unknowingly, my medication reversed or blocked my birth control pill. We were worried due to my problems so my regular doctor sent me to see a Perinatologist. She was debating that I either had preterm labor or an incompetent cervix. They decided not to do the cerclage and wait things out. By my 20th week I saw my mucus plug when I used the ladies room. I went to the doctor the same day and they immediately did a cervical cerclage. I was stuck on bed rest for a few weeks when I went in to my next appointment the nurse told me to stay where I was. She came back in and I found out my back was bulging out of my stitch. I had emergency surgery to push the bag back in and have another stitch put in. From that day on I stayed in the hospital. I felt SO ALONE!! I sat in that room and couldn't get up to pee or anything. I was laying pretty much upside down (there's a term for that but I forget what it is called) Finally, they allowed me to get up and shower about 2 weeks later and I started feeling dehydrated all the time. I drank so much water I was on the bed side toilet more than I was in bed. One night, at 25 weeks pregnant I woke up and thought I had peed the bed. But, I couldn't have been so lucky. My water had broke. Eleven hours later I had Jacob. He was 2 pounds and 5 ounces. He stayed in the hospital for 2 months but came home and is very healthy, thankfully.
Pregnancy # 5 - I had a miscarriage at six weeks. My daughter was undergoing several major surgeries due to complications from when she is born. (Thankfully now she is great) However this caused my msicarriage or so they say. I was under very high stress and regretably had a miscarriage.
Pregnancy #6 - I didn't even know I was pregnant. We were in Iowa for my husband. His grandma had past away of cancer and we spent a week there with his family. They are very catholic and with catholics they drink on occassions like that. I am not much of a drinker but when we would go out I had a couple margaritas or some small fruity drink. I felt tired that whole week like something was wrong with me. I slept so much I could barely function with my kids. I honestly thought it was just stress from the funeral and masses and then burial reception. By the time I got home I should have had my AF but didn't. I found out I was pregnant. My husband and I were clueless. We hadn't been trying and was using protection regularly but I guess it didn't work. Things were going fine and my blood work was rising regularly. I was 2 days from my 6 week visit and I started bleeding heavy. I was miscarrying. Even though we weren't trying I was a wreck. I really did want another baby but just hadn't really realized it yet I guess. After that we decided to try again until we had one more.
Pregnancy # 7 - Found out I was pregnant 2 months after my miscarriage. Everything was great. My hcg was high and I had an ultrasound scheduled for my incompetent cervix and found out the heartbeat stopped and 10 weeks and they did an emergency dnc. They said it wasn't anything I did or anything to do with my cervix. I am devestated. I will try again later this year but for now I am so emotionally exhausted. My doctor said that I can start trying again as soon as I start ovulating. Which is a great excitement for me. I am now keeping a pregnancy chart of my cycles so I can know when I am ovulating etc. I finally stopped bleeding so I hope within the next couple of weeks I will ovulate. Send mega baby dust my way.
My kids preemie pics!!!!! My oldest is now 13 then 12 and then so far my baby is 8 except of course i plan on having a baby on the way! These of course are not all of them but they are best I could scan and get a decent picture. You get the idea though.
