I'm 39 years old (40 in August) and totally shocked (still everyday) at the fact that I am pregnant with #3. I have two beautiful girls, ages 7 and 10, and needed surgeries and drugs for them to even be here. Many years ago I was told that with all my problems that it would be highly unlikely I would ever be able to get pregnant again, so my husband and I never worried about it (or used birth control, being good catholics) and what do you know? They say if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans, well he must be laughing!

This is life-changing and my husband and I are still getting used to what this means. But with so many sad and horrible stories you hear everyday, how can you look at this miracle as anything but positive? I have to admit, I'm getting excited. I always loved being pregnant. This time around seems similar to the other two, but I'm much more TIRED.

(Sarah & Lindsey)

Happy Monday!

Oh well, my cycle came. Just late. Never had this happened. I suppose my body is still adjusting. Anyway, I feel great and looking forward to a nice crisp Fall.

This is my favorite time of year!

Love,

Debora :-)

Hi everybody. I finally had my baby girl exactly two weeks late. Birth story and photos of Carlina Alexis are up. Check them out when you get a chance. I hope everybody is doing great!

marsup - Saturday, 20 September
I am on the weekly count down! I am counting the days to my shower, to cut my wait for my due date. I am also counting my weeks of work every morning!
I have 2 weeks to the shower, 6 weeks of work, and 8 til due day.

How exciting for you! You are almost there! Are you dialated at all?
I got a 179 reading today. I had a huge pie of pie and apple cider. DUMB! but I was starving, shaking starving, and I wasn't home, and all that was really close was a coffee shop/ I figured I'd be high, but that was crazy! It was a real eye opener though.. I know not to cheat now.
Hey.. you never know.. Jr. can come any day, without a warning! Good luck!

kargy - Saturday, 20 September
How did your Dr's appt go yesterday? I went to the hospital yesterday because I thought my water broke.. Turns out I'm contracting a lot.. I'm 50% effaced, but not dilated at all.. he's at -3 station, and still breech (not a surprise). They made me go in for my regular appointment today.. it was so pointless.. they did nothing. Oh well.. I guess I'm just getting grouchy 10 1/2 days to go!!!

stacy5175 - Friday, 19 September
wow, only 11 more days to go for you!!! yeah! I'm tired too alot! Heartburn too. I carry tums whereever I go! I'm supposed to go have one more Ultrasound. I'm at 21-22 lbs too! I got a new camera so that's why I haven't taken any new belly shots....need to figure out how to use it.

I'm all ready for the baby, got all the clothes, etc. washed. Got my labor bag packed! Went to L & D last week for pain down there (mainly behind area) they said baby had dropped...lots of pressure. I'm not dilated though. Just been so busy with kids school and cheer. Tomorrow have to leave at 6:15am for a game! SOmetimes I sleep great, and sometimes I toss and turn all night ;)
take care!

libbaby4 - Thursday, 18 September
I was having contractions last night every 3-5 minutes and they were getting stronger and stronger. But, all at once they fizzled out. So, oh well. I've been very naseated today and not really been able to eat at all. Emotionally, I am so tired of thinking it's time and then it not being time. At least I know it won't be very much longer!!

I am loving the cool mornings. Last night I opened up the back door and just left it open for a while. It was wonderful!

Keep me updated on you as well!

Daisey - Thursday, 18 September
Wow, you look awesome, Woman! Maybe I should consider the GD diet! I had my shower last Sunday and was so busy finishing the house for that, and since then it's catch-up time on bills/paperwork. Now I can look forward to preparing his room (or watching my husband do it is more like it) and finish crocheting his blanket. My pregnancy if fine, still. I just started feeling pressure down there so I know he's going into position. It's been a piece of cake and I've experienced almost none of what most women complain about. I feel very lucky! I'm at a 20 lb weight gain at 34 weeks and I think I'm ok with that, too. I can't believe you're so close. Do you have a name for your little guy yet? I guess communication will be even less once he's/they're here. I'll still be watching for all your updates, and sharing mine. I can't wait to join the motherhood club! :-)

kargy - Thursday, 18 September
I've had a lot of BH contractions the last few weeks. I went for about 4 days of having them 10-15 minutes apart. The last few days they have not been as frequent. I'm just wearing down so quickly. Next week will be my last week at work until I return from leave. It's getting more and more difficult to work all day. I'm so tired when I get home.

Definitely let me know how your appointment goes tomorrow. Maybe your little boy will make an early arrival!! :) I'm hoping mine does :)

libbaby4 - Wednesday, 17 September
I'm a 2!! Doc said my cervix is anterior (I don't know what that means) but she was excited about it. I went for a walk when I got home b/c it feels so wonderful outside! I've been spotting quite a bit and cramping since the exam. I think she stripped my membranes. Anyway, I'm excited that I've had some progress. It makes me feel better to know something is going on down there.

twinstwice - Wednesday, 17 September
I added some photos. BTW - you are looking great! I hope you are feeling better. D-day is coming fast for you!

debora - Wednesday, 17 September
Hi, it's me again...

I am fine. Just waiting a few days before the BIG test. After all my cycle was to be here on Saturday. I hear five days forward is a good time to test.

My husband and I are finally talking about it. He admitted to being afraid and not ready.

I listened and realized men carry so many burdens.

I just keep telling him that we will make it!

I am just outdone on the absence of my cycle.

Oh, well...we will welcome Our Little Love with open arms.

The really bad part is that I am too scared to be happy. The last time around I would have rushed to get a test. This time...cool, calm and collective.

It's amazing how time can change things.

A lady today was pronounced dead from a car accident she just had Friday. News, I heard while at this construction project. All of which makes me excited to enjoy life and really move toward my goals.

I, do, hope that IF I am pregnant, I am not carrying around another false hope.

Sorry to be rambling on...I guess my emotions are just running a mile a minute.

Smiles,
Debora ;-)

Hi!!
Thank you very much for your message - sorry not to have been in touch for a while. Since the girls went back to school last week life has been a bit crazy here and I have only had chance to check through my messages - I am determined to catch up with sending a few overdue replies this evening though!!

It is hardly any time until your c/s now and you get to meet your little man!! You must be so excited!! I don't know how you are surviving on your GD diet - at least you won't have to worry about losing any weight after you have delivered. I have gained a little over 2 stones, which is better than my previous two pregnancies, but still more than I would have liked! I am blaming the fact that I can't exercise in the way I was doing prior to falling pregnant!! (Well, there is always the possibility that I have eaten just a little too much at times too I guess...LOL!!)

I returned from our two week family vacation on Sunday 7th September feeling very rested and generally well. Although the weather was a bit mixed we enjoyed a lovely two weeks away from home and managed to fit in a lot including several days on the beach.

However, since returning home things are back to a fairly hectic pace as both the girls have school, although my youngest is only part time as this is her first year. It is proving a bit of a struggle to get back into the regular routine so that we can leave the house on time in the mornings for school, but we are muddling along and will hopefully be able to get into a good pattern in the next week or so!!

I can't believe that there are only 3 weeks to go now my due date. I put some time aside at the weekend to get the last few jobs done in preparation for the baby coming. I have finally packed my hospital bag - although as I don't tend to go into labour early I am feeling fairly relaxed at the moment, but happier that everything is ready. The thought of heading to Labour and Delivery at the hospital is a scary thought, but there is no other option! LOL!

We have also finished sorting out our spare room/nursery. (I don't know if you recall me telling you how crammed full of junk it was at one time LOL - well, finally, it looks like a bedroom - there are free shelves, a bed that can be slept in, the moses basket on its stand and all the baby things away in drawers and wardrobes.) It is very satisfying to have finally got things finished. We are holding off decorating the room for now as initially it will be a room where I can sleep with the baby or my husband can sleep if he needs to. When the baby is ready to use the room alone we will sort out the decoration and furniture properly. What about you - are you ready for your baby coming?

My big news while we were away on holiday was that my brother became a new Dad, making me an Auntie for the third time! Baby 'Devon' was born on 27 August 2008 at 2:05am - weighing 6lbs 6oz. We managed to spend a few hours visiting him, my brother and his partner on Sunday before we came home and the baby is just SO cute!! All four of us managed to hold him for a bit and it was very special to be able to spend time with him so soon after he was born (he was 10 days old when we visited). It has made the imminent arrival of our own baby seem a bit more real too!! Somewhat strangely baby Devon was born on our other nephew's birthday (Jacob) - who was born 2 years ago in 2006 on 27 August 2008. So, two nephews sharing the same birthday - a big coincidence! The girls were SO excited to meet baby Devon on Sunday....it was a very good way to finish our holidays. (If you would like to see a photograph of him, I have added one to my pregnancy page, along with a family picture from our holiday).

The baby is very strong now and still moving quite a lot - sometimes it can feel a little uncomfortable but on the whole I am bearing up well! I know I am going to miss being pregnant once she is born, so I am trying to enjoy these last few weeks!

Love Valerie x

libbaby4 - Tuesday, 16 September
I go back to the doctor tomorrow. I don't feel any different though. I feel as if this little guy is very comfy where he is! lol My doc did say she would induce next weeks if I want her to. We'll see!

Are you still breech?

kargy - Tuesday, 16 September
I'm feeling pretty well... I'm actually feeling much better this week than I did last week. Just very very tired!!! It's hard to work an entire day, but I need to get as much in as I can before baby gets here. I did not have him on Saturday

I can't wait for the 30th!!!! I doubt I'll go any earlier either.. but I keep hoping I do

How are you feeling? When is your next Dr. appointment? Mine is Friday.

debora - Sunday, 14 September
Just maybe, all.

I will wait until the week's end to check.

Nervous, yes. Excited, no.

Let's hope that if so, all will be made well. I am looking forward to new beginnings, but so afraid of the past.

Stay tuned. I will check by Saturday the 21st.

Thank you for your blessings in advance.

Love,

Debora

maha55 - Saturday, 13 September
..thanks for that...I try to stay v healthy although this pregnancy def brought out my weak spots!!

we also did a photo shoot at beach and ti tree lakes today with my partner and I...wasnt easy for him to let go of being "photographer" (as thats what he does) but to allow my photographer to do the work..we had a little altercation at the site bec I just wanted him to be "dad" with me and bub and he wanted to be technical...aahh men what can u do!!???

libbaby4 - Friday, 12 September
No change at my appt, erggggg!

mom4 - Friday, 12 September
you look so cute? how are you? you don't have that long! yeah!

kargy - Friday, 12 September
I've gained 26 lbs, but I look terrible. I am so bloated looking.. my feet, legs, arms, hands, fingers, and face look so bad.

I've been having a lot of contractions since last night.. none of them are painful, but they're coming about every 10 minutes.. good thing I'm going to the Dr tomorrow! DH is worried that I will have the baby this weekend.. his birthday is the 13th.

Yes.. only 2 weeks and 4 days until we are holding our little boys!!!! :)
