28 November 2007 - I am so glad i joined this forum...everyone is really friendly and amidst work stress and being far away from good friends, it's good ot hav ppl who r going to the same stuff to share stories and advice with. I'm busy prepping for my trip to Portugal - hope Smouse will be fine but the doc has okayed the trip and everything was fine at the last appointment so all should be good. I fly for 11 hours to Heathrow and then take a two hour flight to portugal from there... my first trip overseas and smouse's first too! :)

Hey Shola, sorry to hear you havent had an easy time, ja try and keep that baba in there for as long as possible, but they do grow quickly now, think my little one is weighing in at 2.4kg, which makes me worry about pushing her out..ha ha

MommyJewels - Wednesday, 23 April
Hey!

Oh gosh! I am so sorry to hear that. Did they give you the terbutaline to stop them? That is what I am on now. Are you dilated at all? I am glad that the baby is weighing well! I'm sorry that you are having a hard time. Rest, rest, rest. Is your blood pressure well under control now?

Alana530 - Wednesday, 23 April
Just gotta hang in there a few more weeks. It'll be here before we know it..

Sue23 - Wednesday, 23 April
Hi i was in and out of hospital with my first baby with high bp aswel as my baby being small they will proberbly when the docs think its right ime theyl induce u if u carry on with high bp but they might as u 2 ave an eperdural aswel cos that brings ur bp down gud luck with the rest of ur pregnancy

Anzel - Monday, 21 April
Hey there how are you feeling today. Did you get tested for gestational diabetes? is that normal here in SA? I havent been tested, but have been eating sweets, coldrinks (all the bad things) like my life depends on it!! Maybe I must ask gynae next week.
Are you at home on bedrest?

MommyJewels - Sunday, 20 April
Not to scare you...but I was having intense contractions and contractions that I didn't even know I was having and it caused me to have dilation since Wednesday. So I relaly hope that your aren't dialting!!!!

I guess it depends on when you are having them though. My doctor wouldn't have been concerned, but they got closer together, regular and more intense. That is what sent me into pre-term labor. I didn't think about whether or not yours were like that. Your doctor is right they are good as they get your ready for labor. Nevermind...I just blabbed all this for nothing.

MommyJewels - Sunday, 20 April
Doctor sent me to L&D. Contractions every 6 minutes. Dilated 1cm. Put me on terb to stop the contractions. Back home on bed rest AGAIN. Glad to be home and glad they stopped labor!

I hope YOUR contractions calmed down today!

MommyJewels - Saturday, 19 April
Too bad we don't live in the same time zone! I started having too many again. Here in the states you have to call your OB if you have more than 4 contractions in an hour. So...I avoided another hospital visit last night by drinking and laying on my left side.

I hope that you aren't having too many contractions. Don't you hate it when they wake you up??? As if we don't wake up enough to pee lol

Heather84 - Friday, 18 April
Awww that's so nice!!! Congratulations! They'd better be keeping a close eye on you :-) Let me know how it all goes and GOOD LUCK!!!!! X X X X

MommyJewels - Friday, 18 April
Hey! I'm sorry to hear about your set back. But...I am glad that you went into the labour ward. DO NOT MOVE to do anything. lol. I know it is sooooo hard but just take it easy. Not only is it your health, it's yours and the baby. I'm sad that you can't get your pedicure:( Here in Colorado they have people that will come to your house. I wish you had something like that out there.

Just know that 34 weeks is so important like you said!! Plus girls lungs are usually more developed than boys at this point. You take good care of yourself.

I have to go see the the doctor but I'll be on later:)

hotcaligirlz - Friday, 18 April
I have had high blood pressure throughout my whole pregnancy and I found out today that I have gest. diabetes too. booo! dr said she will be a big one and want to schedule a c-section if she is not here by the 38th week. take care woman its almost over!

MommyJewels - Thursday, 17 April
Well you be very careful not to excert yourself. I think it's ok if you get your pedi...but don't do anything else. Keep your happy little tush in BED for as long as you can. I know it sucks. I wanted to cry when they told me I could only get up to pee again after all these months...but I look at it as it's only two weeks. Two more weeks out of my lifetime! A friend told me to rent a couple seasons of TV shows and it would take me two weeks to watch them lol.

Have someone else clean for you, wash baby clothing etc. PAMPER yourself:)

Granad2003 - Thursday, 17 April
Hi, Shola! I'm glad you are feeling better. Just rest and enjoy your pregnancy. I can't say I really know how it is, as my pregnancy so far has been a "piece of cake". :) OK, my belly did hurt yesterday, but I came home and just relaxed on the couch and watched tv. Yeah, I had a lazy day... Take care u2.

hotcaligirlz - Thursday, 17 April
Im good just getting to the point where its not just uncomfortable things are starting to get painful. I cant sit for more then 15 minutes because I am having some horrible pelvic pain and horrible ligament pain.I cant even lift my left leg to put my panties on! But! at least im not work, right! Honestly I dont really understand this whole leave thing. For now my Dr. put me out for 6 weeks after birth and I will see where I am at from there. I do want to take the bonding law that the State of California provides but im not sure how long I can be out of work on that one or if its a paid leave or not... Ill have to find out but im not stressing myself out over all of it. Well take care lady keep me posted on how you are doing??? Thanks for asking about me!

MommyJewels - Wednesday, 16 April
Hey-
My pedi sent me a flier about not washing clothing and this bacteria that has caused horrible skin reactions in babies and adults. They say to wash EVERY item of clothing that you get. Have someone else wash for you. You are on orders to stay off your feet:)

MommyJewels - Wednesday, 16 April
Boo...my message never got sent:(

I just said that I am so happy that you can get out and get your toes done! That makes just a big difference in your spirit to be able to get out a little bit...even if it is just once a week.

I have been doing my own toes and it's been HARD. It's very comical to watch me do it...but they look great. I think this week was the last week I will be able to do it myself though haha.

Granad2003 - Wednesday, 16 April
Hi, Shola!
CONGRATS! And I hope you feel GREAT!

MommyJewels - Tuesday, 15 April
Good!!!! I hope you continue to have some GREAT news. I'm glad your bags are packed. You take it easy and keep that baby in:)

MommyJewels - Sunday, 13 April
So glad that you have a machine at home. That should make you feel MUCH better knowing that you can monitor yourself and keep track of where your body is at. Now if you baby can at least stay in this next week...getting to week 34 is such a big deal. That is what I am praying for---for both of us. I know they just want to see us lol but they need to stay put.

I hope that things go well for you this week. You have been through a lot, but you are almost there:)

MommyJewels - Saturday, 12 April
I'll be thinking and praying for you! Do you have a BP monitor at home? I am worried about you! I am glad that they are doing shots to get babies lungs ready. I know you are scared and that it's uncertain when baby will come. Look how far you have made it though:) They are prepaing baby to come into this world now and before you know it you will be holding you babs:)

Hang in there and keep me updated.

MommyJewels - Thursday, 10 April
Well you hang in there. I know that bed rest is NOT fun...but you can do it I promise. At least you are at the end and not having to spend months in bed. Try to keep busy and keep your pretty head up. I am glad that they are treating you. Pre-e is very scary. My friend had it but they didn't know until she was totally swelled up and she had a c-section at 32 weeks. So...I am very thankful that they could ease things for you and I hope it stays down.

I'm stuck at home as well...so you can write me anytime:) Soon you will be holding your sweet angel!

Anzel - Thursday, 10 April
Good idea to take it easy, let hubby do everything!! My hubby is also keen for me to pack my hospital bags etc, he is so nervous baby comes early. Dont worry I am sure everything will be fine, the doctors will make the right decisions based on your & baby's health.

MommyJewels - Wednesday, 9 April
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that you are in the hospital. I hope that you are doing ok and please keep me updated. How much longer do they want you there?

I am on modified bed rest, so if you need to talk, I am still online a lot. I feel terrible that you have had to go through so much....but I am glad that you and baby are hanging in there!

meekiepoo72 - Wednesday, 9 April
hey lady~ read your post and glad to hear that baby is still in the oven....pre-eclampsia is no joke..hopefully you will be fine, my cousin had to have a c-section because her b/p was soooo high when she was in labor..dr felt it was dangerous to her and baby...however, if it is stabilized before going into labor..good chance you will deliver vaginal..

Anzel - Wednesday, 9 April
Hey there! I'm sorry to hear about the pre-eclampsia, are you on matternity leave yet? maybe time to take off and put your feet up. Where are you having baby?
