Hello everyone! I have finally got around to entering my profile. My name is Jackie--I am a Real Estate Agent in Wisconsin. I have been married for 13 years to my husband Cory. We have two children right now, Nathan who is 13 years old and Kaelynn who is 11 years old. We had our children early in life and felt like we needed more to experience. We really didn't plan this pregnancy, but we are both happy. Our kids are not at all happy with this new baby coming, but hopefully they will adjust. Well, if anyone wants to chat, let me know! Take Care, and best of luck to all of us!

babygonzales - Thursday, 13 November
Well theres one thing that can help her.. hold her little legs up a little and press gently right under or above her little butt hole and it will come out. Ive heard that from other women on here and plus we did that to my niece once when she was really constipated and her poop came right out. Hopefully that works if not then I would call the doc tomorrow for sure.

babygonzales - Thursday, 13 November
My baby was also switched to soy and was just curious to what makes you think she is constipated. I also thought the same thing with my little guy when he was first switched since he would strain and turn really red but his poo came out really pasty and thick.. kinda like peanut butter or mud lol. He only poos once a day and thats a big difference from going atleast 5 times a day to once. Have you spoke to the doctor about it?

I have never ever heard of a level 2 placenta so are you futher along then they thought that you were? What did your Dr say that he was going to do about it?

shelm2 - Saturday, 27 September
I have a grade three placenta as well. My doc is making me go and get a biophysical on Monday. I'm not sure what is going on but he told me that he can't let the placenta get too old or it will stop working as well as it should. He wanted to induce me Monday but I asked for one more week so I am scheduled for the 6th now b/c of the placenta but depending on what they find on Monday I may be induced earlier. I really really don't want to induced! I have just heard such bad stories about inducing such as super painful, really long, and potentially not working and ending in a c-section. Ugh! What a pain! Good luck to you.

Hi I had a scan yesterday and they mentoned something about the placenta, but they didn't tell me what it ment! I wonder now if that was what they were saying to each other? Every tme I have had a scan at my hospital I have felt like a slab of meat on the table the way they have talked over me! but having said that this was prob one of the better scans this time arround.

Good to know I'm not suffering alone! :)

i managed to find a really big hospital bag checklist somewhere on the internet, but most of it wasn't stuff that anyone would really need to take in, so i just made my own list from that... i'm not 100% what i would need though, just tried taking as little as possible, coz hoping to only be in the hospital a few hours... if i need more, will phone my mum and get her to bring it in for me, lol... put it into sections as well, so for labour have got down: birth plan, antenatal notes, dressing gown, slippers, socks, open front t-shirt (to wear when having the baby), watch, camera, snacks/drinks (coz being a vegan, don't think the hospital will even be able to give me tiny snacks), sponge/flannel, hair band (coz i have really long hair)... then for after the birth, have: going home clothes (will probably buy a new skirt, incase of having stitches or something), old knickers, nursing bra, breast pads, maternity pads, towels (even though my mum said they'd probably have them in the hospital)... then for the baby: car seat, blanket, vest, sleepsuit, socks, hat, mittens, boots, pack of nappies, nappy bags, cotton wool balls and a bib XD hope that helps

hi,

its been nearly 14 years for me, but i googled a check list, ive got packed, nighties, dressing gown, slippers, a pack of nappies, baby wipes 5 ouitfits for baby (just incase of long stay) nappy cream, breast pads, disposible knickers, toiletries, i cant remember what else i packed as i packed it ages ago, but i hope this helps, good luck. x x

hi,

My daughter is almost 11 so I know what it feels like to have that gap, and not know what to bring. My friend who recently had a baby said for the baby to pack Diapers, the hospital only provided 4-5, and they use washcloths for changing, so if you want wipes, bring them too...they provide a tub of vaseline. Also 2 sleepers, zippers are handy for the 1st couple of days, a coming home outfit. for yourself, all your toiletries, and pads( extra absorbent) slippers, housecoat....1-2 pj's open front or nursing if that is your plan, and she said that yoga pants were the most comfortable. What I wear to the hospital is what I will probably wear home, as we won't be wearing it long once we get to the hospital. Don't forget it's all about comfort afterwards and all the weight doesn't just slide off right away so maternity clothes would still be fine. This info helped me, I hope it is helpful to you. Best of luck to you!

Thanks, shopper11- you've been great through this whole process! I just bought my celebratory cute baby thing. =)

I was wondering, how long did you have cramping afterward? My procedure barely hurt at all, but I've had mild (and a few instances of not-so-mild) cramping (not worse than menstrual cramps) off and on since Friday afternoon's procedure. No bleeding, no fluid, etc. Should I be worried about this? Everything I've read says cramping is normal, but I have no idea for how long.

jazyjae - Sunday, 18 May
Did you get the results of your L/2 u/s. I pray everything went well for you.

kirstin - Monday, 12 May
So happy for you that the FISH results were good! More than likely the actual results will be the same!! Keeping you in my prayers!!

kirstin - Friday, 9 May
I am keeping you in my prayers with the amnio. I have been there and I know how difficult it can be waiting. Plus, my fluid was yellow too and I asked about it and the Doc said it is from the baby's urine, no worries. Mine came back perfect and I hope the same for you!!

JaguarEyes - Friday, 9 May
Wow, thanks for sharing, shopper11! How do you feel? Did it hurt alot? I think in many ways it would have been better to have it right away, but at least now I am sure that the decision to have the amnio is what I want. Please keep me posted. I'll be thinking of you for the next two weeks. I'd terminate too, as I think I said. It's weird to think of doing that at 23 weeks (by the time I get the results), especially since I've just started feeling the baby move. Well, stay strong, and thank you again for writing to me. Hopefully all will be well with both of us.

joje - Thursday, 8 May
Hi. I read your post about your testing. 1st, congratuations on the girl!!! 2nd, just wanted you know that you are in my prayers. I hope you get some really good news regarding that amnio. I too am 35 & will be taking the same test within the next couple of weeks. Wishing you the best!! Take care.

I read about your worries....I can't imagine sitting there thinking all the thoughts u must be feeling! When I was expecting my last baby 21 months ago, my doctor offered me to test the baby for DS thru a blood test. I was very skeptical about even doing the test because 3 of my close friends had taken the test, and had been told that their baby would be born with DS. One of my friends actually contemplated an abortion because she didn't think she could be strong enough to care for such a child. She changed her mind, and 6 months later her baby was born.....completely FINE! Same with my other two friends, their babies were happy and normal. I told my doctor I wanted to pass doing the test. I believed that whatever happens happens, and if my baby was born with DS, I'd find out when they were born, not worrying and crying and stressing the remainder of my pregnancy the way I witnessed my 3 friends doing. My doctor was almost inisitant that I take the test, but I asked if it was optional, to which she said "yes" and therefore I opted not to do it. My daughter turned out fine, and that was one less worry for me. I am now pregnant again, and I will opt out of taking that test again. I'm sorry you are going thru your worries waiting for the results, but just know that they are not always right and I'm sure your baby is A-OK!!! ;)

jazyjae - Saturday, 12 April
Hi, I had my test results with a 1 in 46 and my fluid score was 2.6. I'm still trying to deal with this info. I have two daughters that are perfectly fine, so in my heart and mind I have to believe this one will be too. I'm on the fence about getting an amino, I wish there was a way to find out for sure w/o such an envasive procedure. It's only a risk test so let's stay positive. lol
