Hello everyone, my name is Dani and I am married to Ewan. We have 8 healthy children and are blessed with another one on the way.

Our eldest 2 children are married and our 3rd eldest is also out working in the big wide world. I homeschool our remaining 5 children that are still at home. I am currently expecting our 9th wee blessing.

We are living in a double garage with a few sleepout huts for bedrooms while we build our new house so our lifestyle is interesting to say the least. We live on 6.5acres in the South Island of New Zealand.

My husband had a vasectomy after Toby was born, 4 1/2 yrs ago and then we had a change of heart and had a reversal done in May this year. Praise God it worked!!!

I look forward to chatting with heaps of you. Please don't be shy. Leave me a message and I will endeavour to answer asap.

Tuesday, 4 Dec
10wks yesterday. I weighed myself and I've lost 1.5kg of the 2kg that I gained the week before so only a small weight gain so far this time. Most unusual for me, especially considering how much i'm eating. I have 1 breakfast, 2 morning snacks, lunch, 2 afternoon snacks, a big dinner and an evening snack. Dont know where its all going.

Wednesday, 5 Dec
M/s vanished on Tuesday, but came back with a vengeance on Wednesday afternoon/evening. I feel very definite flutters and have been for a week now. Impossible or not. . .I know what I'm feeling.

Thursday, 6 Dec
I'm so tired today, and thats after a good nights sleep. (meaning I only had to get up once to pee)
M/s is hovering in the distance today. Not bothering me but every now and then I get that yucky metalic taste in my mouth and feel seedy at the same time. All in all I think its improving. Busting to get to week 11 but won't let myself jump ahead and start reading comments from there yet. Roll on Monday.

Thursday, 13 Dec

Yay I had my scan today. I have 1 very active wee baby. Seems to be the right size for my dates. It was so lovely to see him/her moving and waving little arms around. Will have another scan at 20wks.

See how my baby is doing

Saturday, 15 Dec
Hooray!!! This is my 3rd day in a row with no morning sickness. I feel the baby move quite regularly thru the day too. Its so exciting.

Sunday, 16 Dec

Yay 12wks today. I get to meet my midwife today. Shes coming for the first time so I'll get to hear the baby's heartbeat.
And my m/s is definitely gone. HOORAY!! Today is my 5th day without any sign of it. Praise God!

Check out the following site. Just copy and paste it into the address bar. Amazing in utero photos.

YAHOOOOOOO!!! 14wks. I made it to the 2nd trimester. No more morning sickness, not as much tiredness. In fact I hardly feel pregnant at all. I feel the odd wee movements. But not really showing much yet which is really unusual for me. I guess its because I completely changed my eating habits 4mths ago. So this pregnancy I `m only gaining baby weight instead of fat. Usually I gain so much fat when I `m pregnant. I was 96kg just b4 I had my last baby. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Sunday, 6 Jan
Woohoo!! 15weeks. I can hardly believe its only 5 more weeks and I `ll be halfway. The silly thing is that now that morning sickness has gone, I don `t even feel pregnant anymore. Not that I `m complaining, but I am looking forward to feeling much stronger movements. I still only feel the occasional little flutter. Still, its good to be healthy and thankfully not gaining too much weight.

Tuesday, 22 Jan
17 WEEKS. Glad to be here too. Lots of all day headaches lately but other than that I have loads of energy and feel great in between times. Looking forward to halfway.

My pregnancy ticker:

Create yours at BlingyBlob.com!

9th April........... 28 WEEKS..........Finally an update...

I have just completed a good morning of schooling 4 of my children. I always feel much happier when I have accomplished something worthwhile.

Anyway on with my update...................I am 28 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I haven't updated in ages because I always seem to be busy with other things and when I do get the time I just can't be bothered. Lazy or what????

I had my glucose test yesterday but have not had the results yet. This doesn't bother me because I've never had this test before and gestational diabetes has not been a problem with my past pregnancies so I'm not expecting any trouble.

My lovely wee baby is very active at times, particularly when I lie down to rest. I am just starting to get feet up near my ribs and bigger sweeping movements across the wall of the uterus.

Baby's head is down and I am now starting to get discomfort as he/she moves against my cervix. I know this can get extremely uncomfortable nearer the end so not looking forward to that part but hey......its all part and parcel of the blessing of pregnancy.

Well I think thats me up to date again.

:)

Thank you! Blessings to you as well and it seems you and your husband are much blessed already! The testing is such a hard thing, and each choice is right for that person. We chose only non-invasive tests as we knew whatever we found would not impact our decision to have our child. Rather, it would enable us to seek out resources should a challenge arise. I don't know about New Zealand, but there is quite a bit of hysteria here in the States around age. I was nearly 38 when I had my son and in just the two years since, the stats they so somberly waive at you are staggering. I just hope to help other women to put that in its place and look at what they DON'T emphasize...the good numbers!

Hey there sweetie!
Yep, I saw your post on your page, I have done that before, put it down to pregnancy hormones, lol!
I am doing fine, hubby felt the baby kick tonight, and the baby has been head down since yesterday, doesn't mean he/she will stay there though.
I am tired as the little ones are sharing a room together for the first time, and they don't go to sleep until about 10pm, and then Bailey my baby, wakes up several times at night still, but more often now, I think he is teething, so I am exhausted!
I just hope he stops this before the new baby comes.
Hugs Niki

Hi there, other than being awake mid of night with Unisom even in me, and the headaches too (not too bad most days but some bad), I'm doing better. Some days (yesterday) still tease me if I get too hungry or work too hard and fast and then slow down, it's more gaggy-ness than nausea now. Baby is kicking me more each day, which I still can't believe, but even right now, I just ate somethign sweet and I feel tiny little flutters that dont' seem like gas. ha! Did vomit big time over brushing my teeth on Saturday. Yuk. Thanks for saying hi. Glad you seem well.

Yep, it has been hotter here than in Oz, I just live out of Timaru, and it was 40degrees the other day, I melted.
I am glad to hear that everything is going well with you and your pregnancy.
Are you going to find out the sex of your baby?
I won't be able to find out the sex of mine till I am 30 weeks, that still is another 8 weeks away yet!
At the 18 week scan the baby had the cord between its legs, lol!

I thought you'd be interested to know my OB told me, when I asked, 'Do you think it's unreasonable to think I've felt the baby kick a couple of times here and there, this early?' He said 'No, that's not unreasonable..it's your fifth baby and you know what you're feeling.' I have felt it a few times and told myself there's no way. I had so much fun at my u/s...baby wasn't very active so no guess on gender...that's ok. GOD IS GOOD!

Hey thanks for sharing the neat process the Lord has brought you through. We would also like to get our mortgage completely paid off and I'm praying that He'll provide for that. He's been so good to us. We too do not live in debt with the exception of that mortgage. it does seem the simpler the more content, huh? I was thrilled when my son seemed to click in his brain how many children have so much less than him and are so happy, when he served at a Christmas party for underprivelaged (interesting word) kids at our church-he shared the Gospel with them and saw how we gave them simple bikes and gifts they'd never had. Bless you for your obedience! I know He will. Have been sicky all morning and having to eat lots having a hard time getting vitamins down...SO I finally caved in to the Zofran just now. Homeschooling is so not like I want it to be but giving self grace and waiting on His timing is what I must do.

Oh wow -- you're my hero! I'm 42 too and I just had my 5th baby four months ago. There are 12 years difference between this one and the former youngest (I lost a baby in between). My husband and I did NFP for 10 years -- nad yes, it worked. My husband, from the time we were married 21 years ago always wanted as many babies as the Lord would give us. I, on the other hand, had declared that I would NOT have any more children past the age of 30 because I just didn't think I was healthy enough -- and I didn't want to change my snacking and smoking habit. My body's hormonal system changed around the age of 36/37 and so did my heart. I decided that if we were meant to have another baby, we'd be given him/her. I had quit smoking for good and started to eat healthy. I lost the one baby, but we have a lovely fellow come to us in August. Not that it was his job to, but he may have saved my life. I pray I'm around for him at his 42nd birthday! God Bless.

How are ya? Had a great day yesterday and today very nauseuos, up at night here having to eat (with meds), really tired, emotional, overwhelmed. His mercies are new in the morning-I'd better get to bed. Hope you're well!

Here I am talking about my 'large family'! Then I see you are going to have 9...put me in my place LOL! People always think that my oldest and I are sisters. Quite the compliment for me...not so much for her! She will be 16 this January. Then they go, 12, 8, 3, & 2. It's kaotic but I don't think that I would want to have it any other way. :) Thank you for the good wishes. Same to you. Have a Merry Christmas!

niseybear - Tuesday, 25 Dec
Awww, thanks for coming to my page and for the compliments! NINE CHILDREN! YIKES! YOU GO GIRL! I'm just looking to have my second by the time hubby and I are 40. LOL Incredible...10 people, soon to be 11 in one family. Be blessed.

Sounds good. We are having lots of family gatherings too. I started my mountain of folding last night and got interrupted by an almost-vomiting session-had to go eat and take Tylenol and go to bed. I had a bad headache. It's still here this morning but not too bad. My kids are so excited about Christmas...oh to teach them it's better to give than to recieve. We significantly reduced how much plastic junk we are giving them this year. ha! They got to be a part of a program where our church gave a lot of presents to some very poor children. That seemed to make somewhat of an impression. Anyway, Merry Christmas!!

mplsmama - Sunday, 23 Dec
We traveled the south island quite a bit when we were there, so I wonder if we went through Ashburton? We were in Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown, Teanu, etc. I suppose it's summer there now? It's snowing like mad here in Minnesota!
Best of luck to you! :)

happymomma2be - Saturday, 22 Dec
You are too sweet! Thank you! :)Congratulations on your newest addition. I hope your home gets finished soon...I know that has to be rough, and I bet everyone is ready to get settled in.

Whether it's the first or the ninth, you are right, they are ALL SPECIAL!!

(By the way, I was homeschooled from the 4th to the 10th grade! It was a lot of hard work for my mom and dad, so I commend you for your job!)

Keep in touch, and I wish you a wonderful holiday season! Merry Christmas! :)

momto4and1tobe - Saturday, 22 Dec
Oh my gosh! We have a lot in common! I also homeschool, I am just beginning my journey though. I don't have much time now, but I will write later. Hope to stay in touch!

Wow, I'm so sorry you had that hard day. Sounds like my hubby acted after a flu shot (never again) for about 2 weeks. The nausea is better some days and then rears its head others .. Yesterday was pretty hard all around. I couldn't stop crying and really tempted to yell at kids. His mercies are new this morning. So did your midwife tell you it wasl likely bp and/ or dehy. I hope your weekend and Christmas are great!

noodle - Friday, 21 Dec
HOw are you??

shortncrazy2 - Friday, 21 Dec
keep an eye on your blood pressure. I know I have naturally low blood pressure but my second trimester my blood pressure was extremely low. I now have to wear suport hose on my legs during the day to keep my blood pressure up.
