Hello everyone, my name is Dani and I am married to Ewan. We have 8 healthy children and are blessed with another one on the way.

Our eldest 2 children are married and our 3rd eldest is also out working in the big wide world. I homeschool our remaining 5 children that are still at home. I am currently expecting our 9th wee blessing.

We are living in a double garage with a few sleepout huts for bedrooms while we build our new house so our lifestyle is interesting to say the least. We live on 6.5acres in the South Island of New Zealand.

My husband had a vasectomy after Toby was born, 4 1/2 yrs ago and then we had a change of heart and had a reversal done in May this year. Praise God it worked!!!

I look forward to chatting with heaps of you. Please don't be shy. Leave me a message and I will endeavour to answer asap.

Tuesday, 4 Dec
10wks yesterday. I weighed myself and I've lost 1.5kg of the 2kg that I gained the week before so only a small weight gain so far this time. Most unusual for me, especially considering how much i'm eating. I have 1 breakfast, 2 morning snacks, lunch, 2 afternoon snacks, a big dinner and an evening snack. Dont know where its all going.

Wednesday, 5 Dec
M/s vanished on Tuesday, but came back with a vengeance on Wednesday afternoon/evening. I feel very definite flutters and have been for a week now. Impossible or not. . .I know what I'm feeling.

Thursday, 6 Dec
I'm so tired today, and thats after a good nights sleep. (meaning I only had to get up once to pee)
M/s is hovering in the distance today. Not bothering me but every now and then I get that yucky metalic taste in my mouth and feel seedy at the same time. All in all I think its improving. Busting to get to week 11 but won't let myself jump ahead and start reading comments from there yet. Roll on Monday.

Thursday, 13 Dec

Yay I had my scan today. I have 1 very active wee baby. Seems to be the right size for my dates. It was so lovely to see him/her moving and waving little arms around. Will have another scan at 20wks.

See how my baby is doing

Saturday, 15 Dec
Hooray!!! This is my 3rd day in a row with no morning sickness. I feel the baby move quite regularly thru the day too. Its so exciting.

Sunday, 16 Dec

Yay 12wks today. I get to meet my midwife today. Shes coming for the first time so I'll get to hear the baby's heartbeat.
And my m/s is definitely gone. HOORAY!! Today is my 5th day without any sign of it. Praise God!

Check out the following site. Just copy and paste it into the address bar. Amazing in utero photos.

YAHOOOOOOO!!! 14wks. I made it to the 2nd trimester. No more morning sickness, not as much tiredness. In fact I hardly feel pregnant at all. I feel the odd wee movements. But not really showing much yet which is really unusual for me. I guess its because I completely changed my eating habits 4mths ago. So this pregnancy I `m only gaining baby weight instead of fat. Usually I gain so much fat when I `m pregnant. I was 96kg just b4 I had my last baby. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Sunday, 6 Jan
Woohoo!! 15weeks. I can hardly believe its only 5 more weeks and I `ll be halfway. The silly thing is that now that morning sickness has gone, I don `t even feel pregnant anymore. Not that I `m complaining, but I am looking forward to feeling much stronger movements. I still only feel the occasional little flutter. Still, its good to be healthy and thankfully not gaining too much weight.

Tuesday, 22 Jan
17 WEEKS. Glad to be here too. Lots of all day headaches lately but other than that I have loads of energy and feel great in between times. Looking forward to halfway.

My pregnancy ticker:

Create yours at BlingyBlob.com!

9th April........... 28 WEEKS..........Finally an update...

I have just completed a good morning of schooling 4 of my children. I always feel much happier when I have accomplished something worthwhile.

Anyway on with my update...................I am 28 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I haven't updated in ages because I always seem to be busy with other things and when I do get the time I just can't be bothered. Lazy or what????

I had my glucose test yesterday but have not had the results yet. This doesn't bother me because I've never had this test before and gestational diabetes has not been a problem with my past pregnancies so I'm not expecting any trouble.

My lovely wee baby is very active at times, particularly when I lie down to rest. I am just starting to get feet up near my ribs and bigger sweeping movements across the wall of the uterus.

Baby's head is down and I am now starting to get discomfort as he/she moves against my cervix. I know this can get extremely uncomfortable nearer the end so not looking forward to that part but hey......its all part and parcel of the blessing of pregnancy.

Well I think thats me up to date again.

:)

Hi, I saw your comment on the low blood pressure page - definitely sounds like affects from low bp - I am 15 wks now, but had a lot of dizziness in my 1st trimester. I had really low bp recently - but then it was normal yesterday at the dr's. My dr said they don't worry too terribly much about low bp, unless it's making the mom miserable. But it doesn't sound like it does anything to harm the baby or anything.
BTW, I was married in NZ 6 yrs ago! My hubby lived in Paraparaumu on the north island for a few yrs (outside of Wellington) - we were married at the Church of the Good Sheperd in Tekapo (kind of near Mount Cook). Where is Ashburton? I absolutely LOVED NZ & we talk about living there someday!

thanks for the message...my husband does all the fun stuff too, but hes not home much because he works really long hours,,,,hes really hard on our son(discpline)...he dosent really know how...he just lets everything build up untill hes so angry over the littlest thing(it doesent help much his boss is an a**hole)hes just a big ball of tension(naturally) and im the excact oppisite..nothing much bothers me. everything bothers him!!i still want to have another though. sometimes i feel like its me being selfish, like i should be grateful for the ones i got! and just be happy eith that!

jamie - Wednesday, 19 Dec
you know im not really concerned about the money issue of having alot of kids.....im more concerned that my husband feels that he has no other obligation than to make money, and i am responsible for everything else. we have 2 and i want another but im not a very good housemaker, things are always behind, and rarely neat. I hate cooking and cleaning the kitchen...but i am i really good mom, i have so much to offer a child. just in the less traditional sense of a perfect home..my husband hates it...he wants everything orderly and neat everyday. he also wants another but does not help out with the ones we have.(unless i ask a million times)and then hes angry about it because hes 'so tired' from work. how do you guys do it?

noodle - Tuesday, 18 Dec
OH I'm reading your page now....so it kind of left you around week 11? I'm glad you seem well.

noodle - Tuesday, 18 Dec
How are you doing? Has the nausea left you alone? When did it start getting better if so? I'm so ready. Ugh! God is good!

Cbell - Tuesday, 18 Dec
Hi! Unfortunately mt bleeding started on Friday evening again. It was A LOT and I really thought I had lost the baby, because I had cramps too. Went for a scan on Sat morning, and baby was absolutely fine! Praise God! Problem is that the clot has grown even bigger, and is right next to the placenta. But, all is ok for now (still having spotting here and there), and I'm just trusting in the Lord.

Your scan picture is soooo adorable. I go on 3rd Jan for my 12wk scan - can't wait! My morning (all day) sickness has also disappeared (YAY!!) and not feeling too bad tired-wise.

How old is your youngest? Have you told them? How do they feel about having ANOTHER sibling? It must be such fun in your household! I'd love to have many kids, but with all our problems, I think this will probably be the last! Well, keep well and hope to hear from you soon! (excuse the long book!)

DonnaG - Tuesday, 18 Dec
Hi, Yes she did swing the screen around a couple of times but not quite the same : ( Saw it's little hands and fingers - so tiny! Looking forward to my 19 week scan now - think I'll ring ahead and make sure all screens are working properly! Hope you're well - talk soon. Donna.

DonnaG - Tuesday, 18 Dec
Thank you for the advice - it was good. Having a baby will be a huge educational experience for them anyway so if no 'school' work is done they will still be learning a lot (that they would be missing out on if they were at school all day). Had my first u/s today - only one in there! Talk soon, Donna.

Cbell - Monday, 17 Dec
Thank you soooooooo much for your advise and idea's - wow! i hope you don't mind if i write to you, say, every week?? LOL! Your idea's are great! I'm not a very creative person at the best of times. You are right about our reason's for homeschooling - it's more to bring up the kids in God's ways than to have them educated in perfect academics. I'll definately be keeping in touch. Hope all is going well with your pregnancy. God bless and have a good day!

Cbell - Sunday, 16 Dec
Hi! Wow, I love your story - you are soooo brave! I'm also a fellow homeschooler (of 5 and 3 year olds) and really worried about how we going to do it when baby comes. Next year is going to be our first year of 'big school', so I was worried about that anyway, and now to have to try and fit it in with a baby! I would love to hear any advise you have - I'm sure you have plenty! I will be thinking of you and praying for your little 9th blessing!

ChildofGod - Saturday, 15 Dec
Yeah not sure about the song that's already on your computer. Hopefully you can find it somewhere if you google it.
Happy Pregnancy

DonnaG - Friday, 14 Dec
Hi Dani, My name is Donna and I'm also 11 weeks pregnant. Just read your page and thought I would leave a message because I am a fellow homeschooler to my 2 girls who are 6 and 4. Great to read your page because sometimes I freak out about how I'm going to juggle homeschooling and a baby but it seems like it can be done! Any advice?

bmhmama3 - Friday, 14 Dec

noodle - Thursday, 13 Dec
Very good! Congrats! Zofran is helping me feel better and I slept well last night...don't like meds but very tahnkful.

noodle - Thursday, 13 Dec
My family took my kids today so I could rest. I got on the Zophran and it really seems to be helping! I'm thankful! I can eat and not feel so gaggy and hopefully will sleep well. The appointment went really well...he assured me that despite all the magnified symptoms this time, there is only ONE healthy looking baby in there...heartbeat was 170....very thankful and very sleepy!

noodle - Wednesday, 12 Dec
Oh and thanks for very kind reminders. My hubby is getting a bad cold, too. God is good thru it all! I keep reciting to self children are a gift of the Lord, children are a gift of the Lord....

noodle - Wednesday, 12 Dec
Girl I was just emailing some family and friends to pray and maybe come get kids tomorrow. Seabands I've tried...with no. 4 I gave in and used Unisom..it totally helped such that I slept really well and could at least be in the kitchen and eat. All that is different this time-I'm still thinking could be 2. I am sooooooooo sick tonight...haven't slept at all-have been trying to eat all night long. I'm giving in and getting a prescription from my doc in the morn. Just for a couple of weeks. Esp. if it's twins I won't feel bad. I've tried all the natural stuff I can-ginger, Sea bands, etc.. but not sleeping and eating.....I need to function. Docs say they're totally safe. Sitting here about to investigate side effects. He filled phenergrn and Zopran for me -we'll see.

noodle - Wednesday, 12 Dec
How are you? Never got your message. About 14 hours till my appt.

noodle - Tuesday, 11 Dec
