Well This is my first child and im really trying to learn as much as i can before my little bean comes along.

Thursday, 25 Oct
My SO is driving me insane...He hasnt got a job and everytime i mention the fact that he needs to get one before the baby comes he gets depressed. I have enough on my plate without him being sad and depressed all the time. His djing gigs and small odd jobs arent making enough money and i need him to be a man and grow some balls and get a job..i just dont know what else to do or say to him. Ive asked and begged and threatened. So i give up.

Wednesday, 12 Dec

Well as christmas draws closer..im actually feeling more stressed out. Money is very tight and im not sure my SO understands how tight. Its ridiculous. Maybe i just need to chill but i feel very stressed. Also i know im pregnant but im getting upset that clothes arent fitting me anymore. Lol strange that i want a big stomach but get upset when my clothes dont fit. I think its also because i dont have money to buy clothes...So im wearing alot of jeans and dying of heat because its summer in South africa now. Oh well as long as the baby is well thats all that matters.

Tuesday, 29 Jan

Well last week thursday we found out our baby is a girl. Im so happy. So her name will be Isabella Dawn. Im starting to get restless at night and tired during the day. Ive have made myself some dresses and skirts so i dont boil up. I also found out last week thursday that i am RH Negative..which is not great but it will be fine..hated that glucose drink it got stuck in the back of my throat and i couldnt drink or eat anything for an hour. From the scan the nurse told me my baby is weighing 2.3 kilos at the moment..scary is that if she keeps picking up weight and is born on her due date she will be 4.3 kilos..thats huge. Oh and my SO is looking hard for a job. So things are looking good.

Monday, 2 June

Well almost 3 months since i gave birth to the love of my life. I swear that I cant imagine life without my baby Isabella...she means the world to me. Ive been back at work now for a month and i am very blessed since i can take Isabella with me but that is also a problem because she is alot of work (not that i dont know all babies are alot of hard work) Although being a Personal Assistant is very hard when you are trying to type and hold your wiggly 2 month old and answering phone while making sure she isnt crying is a little hard and by the time i have finished feeding and changing her and keeping her occupied and i get to do actual work i get less then half done then what i used to get done. But i love that she is with me all the time, although when i get home i am sooo tired and after washing bottle and expressing and bathing her and reading her a bedtime story and cooking and eating ...im so pooped and then i still only go to bed at 10 pm everynight and then get woken up about 2-3 times during the night and then it happens all over again, Thats y sometimes it is nice to come home and give her to daddy while i take a nice hot shower and express and wash bottles. I feel almost human again. All those single moms out there i give you a serious badge...You are amazing because i dont know how i would cope without Brad. So Basically im happy Isabella is 6 kgs and is turnign 3 months on the 13th of june. She is getting so big and smilling all the time she also doesnt like to lie still at all and always wants to be on the move constently ...she is happy when she is sitting/standing with mommy or daddy or going out shopping she is always looking around and her neck is so strong as well as her legs and she loves to kick. I hope all of you mommies little ones are just as fiesty as Isabella is..its a really good sign. Well she needs a bum change ....Mommy to the rescue.

I haven't had any bh's either :) I hope this means I don't go way overdue!

mzmommy2b - Friday, 29 Feb
I havent gotten any BH that i know of either! I mean, maybe a little, if its when your stomach tightens, but mine only tightens on one side at a time, and sometimes i cant tell if it is just the baby stretching out!

hhall - Friday, 29 Feb
Thanks! Office opens in about 20 minutes and I will surely check in with them!

majah9 - Friday, 29 Feb
Hey!! I haven't had any braxton hicks either...starting to bother me because I feel like there's no progress and I'll be pregnant forever!!!! trying to be patient. lol.

TIffanymom2almost4! - Thursday, 28 Feb
Oh sorry...a charlie horse is a leg cramp in your calf. I think you will get through it and if not there are plenty of drugs :)

TIffanymom2almost4! - Monday, 25 Feb
Oh yes my previous labors were all natural and YES it hurts. The most important thing is as they say breathing. If you focus on breathing it sometimes takes away from the fact that it hurts like hell. It's when you loose control and start screaming and crying that it hurts the most. I used to coach myself through each contraction telling myself that I was almost at the peak of the contraction, the most painful part, and then it just gets better from there. The only way I've been able to describe it is like having a charlie horse in your stomach at least in the end close to delivering contractions. I think it's different for everyone but trust me when I say if I can do it 3 times ANYONE can do it :). It's all worth it and literally the second your baby is born all of the intensity vanishes. Your sore from the ordeal but the intense OMG I'm gonna die from this pain feeling is gone! Good luck!

TIffanymom2almost4! - Tuesday, 19 Feb
Thanks so much for letting me know I'm not the only one carrying a monster baby..LOL! Did your doctor/midwife move your due date at all? I have my appt today so I'm anxious to hear what she has so say. My older kids were all bigger babies, the largest was 9lbs 4oz, but this one seems to be heading to win the gold medal on how big of a baby I can produce! Scary....I did all of my labors drug free and all natural this one I'm not so sure about! I might opt for some meds :)

kiwikid - Tuesday, 5 Feb
Hi, nice to hear from you! SA is somewhere I have always wanted to go, I am named after Kimberley Diamond mines, my parents lived in Jburg for a long time. It must get really hot there for sure! its not so bad here at the no. So are you so excited about your baby or what?? I am so excited!!

mummysteph - Thursday, 31 Jan
Oh yes and it is just great to know that there are people on this site who just understand how you are feeling what you are going through Im so glad I found it. Thanks again

mummysteph - Thursday, 31 Jan
Hi there thanks for your comment. My husband is ok although I think it s difficuklt for htem t o really understand what we actually go through (how can they). He does get on my nerves at times but t least we have the kind of relationship where we can tell each other that. most of the time he listens. We will probably be spending the weekend doing up the baby's room, I cant wait to have it all finished, i have all his furniture and I think I have everything I need. Have you done your nursery yet? take care

bellybumbles - Tuesday, 29 Jan
hey :) our furniture came yesterday, so its all set up in the room and it's really fun to just stand in the nursery and look at everything, lol. We're so excited! I still have to wash the baby clothes and pack my bag too. I'm afraid once I pack my bag I'll get really impatient though and start thinking she should be here already everyday, haha. The book is just an idea i had (i sit at home a lot because i substitute teach and coach a high school swim team), so needless to say i had to find some project to work on, and since i'm pregnant and curious about other peoples birth stories i thought it would be kinda neat to compile a whole lot of them and publish them. I am working with a small time publisher right now, and they love the idea, so i just need to get enough different stories and it's a go. So fingers crossed it works out, I've had fun with it at least. I'm into writing-i'm also writing a book about my pregnancy and Reese's first year to give to her one day. whew! this is a long msg!! how often are your apts? after next week i'm switiching to every week, that should help everything speed up i hope-i'm so darn impatient i can't wait to meet her and hold her :)

mzmommy2b - Tuesday, 29 Jan
Same! I still have to wash all of the baby stuff, and buy a couple more things. Everything else is all set, except my hospital bag!

smz001 - Tuesday, 29 Jan
I am lucky cos I get 4 months fully paid maternity leave. So I am leaving 2 wks be4 I give birth and will return in the beginning of July. Kinda cool. When I had my son I was working for a different company and they had 4 months leave but unpaid which was really hard. I have all my goodies in order but just need to pack it. Want to do it soon cos my sis in law had her baby a month early and she wasnt prepared at all :)

mzmommy2b - Tuesday, 29 Jan
LOL! I know! Very scary!!! I am good =)

bellybumbles - Monday, 28 Jan
i'm okay my ribs and my pubic bones hurt, but other than that i can't really complain. I asked my doc about the birth weight bc i was nervous about that aspect of delivery and he said she'll probably be 7lbs which is good, but he also is giving me another u/s to verify, so that's exciting :)

smz001 - Monday, 28 Jan
Hi there. I am doing great. I admire you for going au natural. My gynae was just telling me that the amount of elective c-sections in SA is becoming scary, and that most of them are granted because of the intense fear that women have nowadays to have natural birth. I had no choice with my son as it was an emergency c-section, but after that experience I figured I am just going to go with what I know. That is why I have also opted for an elective one again. Well I hope you are doing well. Its the end of my work day so I cant wait to go home and relax. When do u plan on starting your maternity leave??? I am officially on leave from the 20th Feb. Only 3 weeks of work left...yayyyyyy

Jakes..Mummy..xx - Monday, 28 Jan

Hi, I'm doing good thanks just can't wait to get to the end now getting really sore especially since he has dropped I feel so heavy.I must be driving my husband mad to because the past week I have been a hormonal wreck!! I'm excited about the labour but like yourself worried at the same time.I still can't make my mind up if I want to go natural or opt for the epidural.I said natural from the start but as the time has got closer I'm really starting to chicken out.How about yourself do you have a labour plan? It's scary thinking about the weight he might be, if the scans were right like you said 9lb and up.ohh it makes my eyes water! x

Jakes..Mummy..xx - Friday, 25 Jan
Hi when my doctor and midwife worked out my due date they said to take the LMP date as the due date as long as it's no more than 7 days different to the date you get at your scans before 20 weeks as this is very reliable early on because they meausure by the babies head measurments and organ devlepment.I'm due the 24th March and when I went for my 4D scan at 29 weeks they told me he was big but they said they would'nt change my due date because all babies lay down fat at different rates.I would stick with your LMP date.good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.x

mzmommy2b - Friday, 25 Jan
Usually the date they give you from the earliest ultrasound is the most accurate according to my OBGYN. They say the further along you are, babies progress at diff rates, so it gets harder to tell. But if your right on with your LMP, then i would go by that. Also, they say from week 33 on, the babies gaim about .5 lbs a week.

smz001 - Friday, 25 Jan
Hi there fellow South African. I would think that ur LMP date is generally most accurate as long as your cycle was always 28days. On average every tool works on the 28 day average and if yours was different you can work backward or forward a few days give or take. When I had my son all seemed to work out on LMP even though ultrasounds showed a week or two earlier or later. 2.3kg does sound big because I had my ultrasound this week and my lil girl weighed 1.85kg which is the average weight 32 wks. So it could be one of 2 things. Either you are actually 33/34 wks instead of 32 or you going to have a really big baby :)I had a friend that had a 4.4kg baby full term so its very possible. From what I know our babies will pick up on average about 250g a week from now on. Hope this info helps

You're right to think about what behaviors you want to expose your child to. With the baby coming, it's only natural that you'd want to heal relationships and extend your support network. But seriously ask yourself what you expect--or want--to happen by telling him about the baby, and if your expectations are realistic in light of your past experiences. I'm sorry, it doesn't sound like yr father's capable of giving you the response that you want from him. I think that based on what you've said about him, you're better off just keeping your distance and focusing on the positive influences in your life.

vixplusone - Tuesday, 18 Dec
Hello, responding to your posting. My father passed away before I was born, so I never had a relationship with him. I get sad sometimes like you did at the wedding, but the fact that I didn't have a choice makes it easier for me to deal with the absence. In the long run, it is he who is missing out more than you are. The fact that you tried to reach out shows that you will likely be a better parent than he apparently is! Take care.

BabyD143 - Tuesday, 18 Dec
Oh yeah she is very excited, today we went to the park and there were no kids there, and i said soon you will always have someone to play with, ( your little brother ) and she was so excited to know that!! She is gonna be a big help!!

Yeah It seems like it take forever while you are waitting for the baby to get here, but when you look back on it, it was like a blink of the eye, that why this time, i keep a journal, of how i was feeling each day and what and when things happen to us!! Cause i can barely remember it all with Her!! So I cant wait 13 more weeks left!!!! woohoo!!! We are all ready!!

BabyD143 - Monday, 17 Dec
Well its not too bad, it would be worse I think if she was younger, like a baby!

She is very active, but she is really in to the baby thing, she cant wait to help out!!

I was so nervous wit her when i was pregnant, life was hard for me then and just not knowing drove me crazy, but now My life is wonderful and I get to celaberate it wit a bundle of joy!!!

Thanks for the bely comment, I swear the past two weeks it really poped!!!

Anyways hope to talk to ya soon!!
