April 17, 2007

Well, in just two days I'll finally be three months along. It's been a long, bumpy first trimester and I'm looking forward to the second trimester. Still haven't had an U/S, but will be having one on Monday. Nervous and excited at the same time. Wish me luck.

April 24, 2007

I had my first U/S and WOW what an experience that was. It's soooo nice to actually see the reason for why my body is doing what it's doing. My mother saw the pics and already says "it" has my nose. Too funny. I'm so relieved to have seen my baby moving and it's heart beating. I hope all continues to go well.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Oh forgot to mention.. She said fatty foods. It's also raw vegetables and salad that cause the attacks as well. I was told not to eat corn or beans period. Good luck.

Hey :). My midwife knew it was my gallbladder right once I showed her where the pain was. She said to watch what I eat. She said it's basically trial and error to figure out what I do eat. I cut back on the vegetables and salad I was eating. The pain doesn't come everyday like it did before. It still comes now and then. Maybe 3 times a week. The pain gets so unbearable. The only thing I've found to relieve it (a little) is a hot shower. I hate that you're in pain too, but I feel better knowing I'm not the only one with the gall bladder issues!

I could see it being a problem this late in pregnancy, because the surgery is done by laser, they go in through your belly button and blow air in your abdomen, which is already stretched...then make three small incisions along the upper right side of your abdomen..ummm I guess it depends on your doctor and how big the gallstones are...If you have to wait until after the baby, then eat little amounts of fat with each meal...the gallbladders job is to breakdown the fats we eat using bile and if its not working properly, the pain can be unbearable..I found that if I ate little to no fat, but lots of carbs I was okay. Take care

I had my gallbladder removed about 4 years ago, laser procedure...I was in ALOT of pain!!! Throwing up with stabbing pains in upper right quadrant of abdomen, my attacks only happened at night. I had an U/S done and sure enough doc saw stones, I was down for about 3 days but recovered and went back to work within 7 days. I have a total of 4 small scars, 3 near the removal site and one beneath my belly button. If you do have gallstones, do not wait too long, it can become an emergency procedure, and you'll definitely have severe pain. Stay away from foods with lots of fat and see if your symptoms get better...take care, let me know what they find.

Hey- I was reading your question about taking hot baths while pregnant. I was told by my old doctor during my last pregnancy & by my new doctor this pregnancy that taking a bath at 100 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celcius is just fine but to not go any hotter than that. Your belly being under that water is just fine also. They told me that even in hot tubs a person will usually get uncomfortable and have to jump out before their body's blood gets too hot. But pregnant women should avoid Hot Tubs just incase they can tolerate the hot water and not notice the extreme temperature their blood may be getting which can be harmful to the baby. But feel free to take your hot baths! I have my baby's thermometer in the tub with me to make sure I don't make it over 38 degrees Celcius.. because I do like it hot.. and when the water cools down I like to make it hot again.. so having it makes it easier to know how hot the water coming from the tap actually is! Have Fun In The Tub Relaxing!! (oh and i was also told baths are fine right up until your water breaks.. you shouldn't bath once your water breaks.. instead have showers.. unless you are having a water birth which will be accompanied by a nurse/doctor or midwife) Take Care!!

I hope your cold clears up soon and you start feeling better! I am feeling so much better today, half human anyways, lol. As long as the baby is kicking and moving and staying healthy, i can deal with the rest, lol. hope things are going well for you! good luck on your ultrasound as well, I bet you cant wait to finally see that baby...thats was the best part with me:)
