Friday, 15 Feb Well, I feel your pain as far as being by yourself during the pregnancy. I still tell my husband all about my woes and swelling over the phone, but I miss him so much. I hate to think he has to miss all of the stuff going on right now. How long will your husband be deployed for? My husband is currently at Ft. Stewart, GA and the army is sending him home in 13 days and then my doctor is inducing me so hubby can be home. We are thankful for that. He will only get to stay a couple days and then, from what we here he will not be home again until the deployment is over (hopefully Christmas time of 2008). I know it sucks for us, but I think all the time how hard it must be for them- knowing they are missing their son's growing up. So much happens that 1st year. Do you have family and friends close by to help you out right now? Here at the end even the simple things become such BIG chores and it's easier to get bummed both because you miss your man and because you are so worn out! Good to hear from you! Write back when you have time. merseyloo1 -
Friday, 15 Feb Oh my gosh. I can't believe they flowers didn't come! After he planned ahead and everything. That sucks! And on your anniversary to top it off. Jeez! Well, maybe they will come today. Better late than never right? I hope today is a better day! :) merseyloo1 -

Thursday, 14 Feb Hi, yes I am a military wife. This is my husbands first deployment, so everything is new for us and so far it sucks. He is at Ft. Hood right now, but will be leaving for Iraq soon. I'll get to see him once with the baby before he goes though, so at least we get that! I am so lonely without him and it is so sad to know that he is going to be missing out on so much of our babies first year. The pregnancy wasn't planned and even though we are super excited about it now, the timing still sucks. We are trying to make the best of things though. How is the pregnancy going for you? ashybabee -
Thursday, 14 Feb thanks for the advice!! bon2 -
Thursday, 14 Feb hi, I am also measuring a few weeks behind more like over 3 though. My doctor said the same thing Im only 5'1' too. But they actually have me going in 2 x a week for nonstress tests and ultrasound to be sure its not a growth problem. She grew a 1/2 pound this week so that's good but she is still tiny! They tell me not to worry and she should be perfect Laurabutterfly81 -
Saturday, 9 Feb Yeah, I always wondered what would happen to our machine if we accidentally used regualr detergent. I'm glad to know that it won't blow up or anything! I think I will stick to any detergetnt that is free of dyes and stuff like you said. I would hate to irritate my little ones skin, I just get so paranoid sometimes wondering if what I am doing is right. I guess all new moms go through something similar, hopefully! Jo-Mama -
Thursday, 31 Jan Have a fun shower! merseyloo1 -
Sunday, 27 Jan Hey sweetie, I'm sorry you are feeling lonely. I can't imagine being in your shoes. You must be a strong woman. I'd be a mess if my husband was away. We're all here for you so chat all you wish. And take care of yourself. *hugs* Jakes..Mummy..xx -
Thursday, 17 Jan That seems a long time. I went for my 30 week appointment Tuesday and they told me to book again for 32 weeks. But I have had Kidney trouble.I'd give them a call but I surrpose everyones doctors are different.x BabyH -
Wednesday, 16 Jan I would look into getting a doula. My husband will be around but I just wanted the extra support and somebody that has been through a birth many times there to reassure me that things were going well. I would check with the military because my friend who's husband was deployed says she got one for free. It's like having your own private nurse there to pamper you through labor. Hope this helps. jenrich -
Wednesday, 16 Jan Thanks for the comment. Good luck with everything! lil-ole-me -
Tuesday, 15 Jan Thanks so much for your comment on the decreased fetal movement Kara. I decided to give it a few hours before demanding that they check me out - and the baby decided to wake up and start moving around some more. It is so easy to get paranoid! But it helped a lot to hear from you... I appreciate it! Jo-Mama -
Tuesday, 15 Jan I hope that your husband gets back in time for the birth. If he doesn't, you can hire a doula (aka personal labour assistant). I have several friends who used doulas and they al said wonderful things about them. They helped them relax, gave massages, and offered lots of support. mom-o-7 -
Tuesday, 15 Jan Let's see, what to expect during delivery...I'm on my fourth pregnancy and with my first I really had no idea what it would be like and as I was going through it I thought I was seriously going to die! Now, that this will be my fourth delivery I definitely do know...well, I'm not going to lie, it hurts. It hurts alot. If you can get an epidural at around 4 centimeters dialated it will help. With my first I didn't and I should of. With my second I did but it did not take full effect for some reason..I still felt the pain on one side...with my third, the epidural worked wonderfully and it was sooooo easy from then on out. I had no more pain...not even when I pushed!! But it was my third delivery so everything went alot smoother. Some people have great 1st deliveries, some don't. Don't let them give you alot of pain medicine b/c then you will just be out of it and not remember anything...I scratched my mom's chest like crazy with my first and I didn't even remember. I'm not trying to scare you, just giving you the truth. I hope you choose to do an epidural, it makes things so much nicer...just remember push like you're having a bowel movement(thats what it feels like if you don't have an epidural)as hard as you can...the harder you push, the faster you'll see your beautiful baby boy!!! I'm having my first son too, you better believe I'm going to push with everything I have in me!! You can do it, you're a woman, we can do anything we set our minds to! Good luck! shellymac1970 -

Aw he's so lovely! I can look at him and know he's a baby - I just couldnt make anything out on the 29 week page but looking at it now since looking at your boy I can! I wish Id got that done now but I dont know what Im having cos we only get one scan over here and anything else you pay for and I dont have spare money right now cos it costs approx. £200 which may be approx. 350 dollars to you. Thanks and good luck! juniperberry -
Sunday, 6 Jan Hi beautiful kara. Thank you for your comment and congrats on your gorgeous lil boy. I'm hoping my baby starts to wriggle a bit more before 28wks because at the moment...she usually starts to party around 10pm (either that or she's practising for some baby dance marathon I don't know about! lol). Thank you again. Keep smiling, stay beautiful and take care (((Hugs)))) jazismommy -

Friday, 21 Dec Hi I read your posting. I can relate to you. My husband is in the AF and can leave at any time. It has just been luck so far that he hasnt left yet. Where are ya'll stationed? Like you I live near the base here at Eglin in FL with no family or friends around. The only thing that gets me through is talking to my sister EVERYDAY!!
