Hi Tanner is our 3rd. My daughters are 4 and 21/2. It can be a challenge at times. It wasn't hard being pregnant w/ Tanner and having the girls and after he was born the girls loved him! They weren't jealous or nothing. As for keeping up w/ them that's a different story,LOL It seems to be a bigger step going 2-3 instead of 1-2 kids. They can all be demanding at once and want your one on time. We did have to get van last yr for our growing family and for more room. The perk of it we had all the baby stuff, just needed boy clothes. You can get worn out no matter how many kids you have. If you plan on a 3rd you will just work him/her right in the family. It's all worth it! We are even going to try for # 4 but not any time soon! Only thing is going for walks, unless you buy a 3 seater stroller! LOL

I read your message regarding having more than 2 kids. i have 2 sons aged 3 and 6 and a daughter who is almost 4 months old. I can honestly say that being pregnant for the 3rd time was way harder seeing as keeping up with 2 kids who didn't nap was exhausting! Bringing home the baby was easier than with our second as our sons don't have any sibling rivalry or jealousy and they are at the age where they are fairly independent. However, being a mom of 3 now past the early days, is definitely a lot of work!! I constantly feel like one of the boys is being left out, because our baby girl is so demanding. I feel like it is hard to balance all of their needs ( that probably will get easier as the baby gets older though). In terms of lifestyle changes, our sons were already sharing a room long before I got pregnant and we have a vehicle where we can fit lots of passengers. Really and truly though, I always wanted to have 3 kids and I wouldn't change it for anything!!

Thanks for the tip about saving some milk. I thought about pumping but it was 2 in the morning. I didn't want to get out of bed. I actually got up and expressed some into the bathroom sink. ha ha ha, whatever it takes to get me back to sleep while baby sleeps.

have you checked your local craigs list for a saucer? The newest evenflos are nice, and they make interchangeable toys you can swap out. All you gotta do is sanitize it, they're usually in good shape, babies are only in them for a couple of months, once they start crawling/walking they'll be out of them anyways.

Hey! I am feeling kind of guilty! Madison will be 4 months old next Wednesday. She never latched on so I have been pumping for the past 4 months for her. My milk production is slowing down a lot, especially since I came back to work. I usually only get an ounce each side and she eats around 4 ounces every feeding so I am already supplementing with formula. I am going to stop pumping and totally formula feed her the end of the month. She still has the acid reflux pretty bad at times and I just hope its not because of the formula or anything that I am doing!!! I dont know why I feel so bad about switching completely to formula???? Hey Girl!!! I posted that on the 3 month webpage a few minutes ago! I dont know why I am having such a hard time right now with the whole pumping thing. Madison was sick this morning. I called the doctor and they said theres really nothing they can give to her right now. She has a stuffy nose, coughing, runny eyes etc. She sees her doctor Wed and they told me to just keep my eye on her and make sure she can breath! I cant wait to see how much she weighs!
Sorry it took me so long to write you back and sorry I am so scatter brained...I have been so busy with the baby and work I just dont have time for myself these days! Not to mention she's not sleeping good at all. She wakes up every 3 hours to eat...or has gas. I think she might be going through a growth spurt??? How much is Lainey eating these days? Madison is still eating between 3 and 4 ozs every feeding...usually every 2 hours but she still spits up pretty bad at times! Poor little thing.
K...sorry but I gotta run!

Hey Girl!
Sorry it took me so long to write back to you! Things have been super busy since I went back to work. She is doing well at daycare and I have actually made some new friends...its kind of nice! They have a mother's day tea party this Friday and I am really excited! Then on the 21st they have a professional photographer coming to take picts of the kids. So instead of 3 month picts, she will have 4 month picts. I cant wait to see them!
She weighed 11pds at the GI the other week...I am sure she's probably 11.5 now??? But I dont know!
She is doing well sleeping. She goes to bed around 9:30pm and usually sleeps until 6am or so. Its nice because I get up at 6am for work. Sometimes she wakes at 4am though! Its getting much better!
How is your little one doing?
Hope you guys are doing well!

So glad you're feeling better. :)

It appears as though it went away, but if you keep getting them like I do, float on your belly in a bath of war water and massage it. Then pump until nothing comes out while massaging it. Then I usually have the baby nurse and it will go away. I wish I knew what caused it and how to keep from getting them bc they are SOOO painful!!!.

karenc - Tuesday, 29 April
ugh, that sounds painful! i'm glad it worked itself out -- nursing is like an athletic event, lol!

juliasf - Tuesday, 29 April
WHEW! Oh good! I am VERY happy for you! For me, this being my first child, breastfeeding is the single most challenging thing I've faced so far.

hey, just read your post...unfortunately I have had my share of plugged ducts...first of all, get your baby to nurse that side first, and often...as much as you can stand....then go sit in the bathtub full of warm-hot water and squeeze like nobody's business....it hurts so bad, but it will help...and hand express as much as you can stand it while in the warm water...the shower just didn't do it for me, i had to be immersed...but it has worked every time...good luck!

I just got over mastitis which began w/ a clogged milk duct. I eventually went on antibiotics to get rid of the infection. To unclog the duct I did everything...
hot showers, massage the breast while nursing, fill a diaper w/ warm water and put it on your breast..the diaper holds the warm water better than anything else I tried. Soak your breast in a bowl of water water (weird but this worked for me...I did it before nursing), always start w/ the sore breast first b/c the baby will suck hardest.. My midwife told me to nurse every 2 hrs, change positions each time & not to wait for the baby to be hungry. I put my baby to my breast every 2 hrs & she nursed every time. Also, point the baby's chin in the direction of the clogged duct which could be an awkward position, but all of these things eventually worked for me. I hope this info helps. Feel better soon. Rest, drink water, & nurse your baby often.

natashav - Tuesday, 29 April
hi,i had it when my daughter was about a week old. i massaged for the whole night,it was horrible!!!! but i did it on the napking, just throuhg that milk out,it will hurt, but you have to do it,otherwise there might be complications. it will hurt like hell,i cried and peed in my pants, but it was worth it:)

juliasf - Tuesday, 29 April
PS Something I've found for reoccurring plugged ducts is lecithin. A lactation consultant told me about it and I've tried it and it seems to be working! I take only one pill a day, although they recommend 3. So far so good!

juliasf - Tuesday, 29 April
Hi- Clogged ducts are the story of my life... I've had mastitis 3x already in 6 months! If you can catch this plugged duct before you reach mastitis it would be GREAT! The best way I've found is to massage it really hard while your baby is nursing. And massage and push it TOWARDS your nipple. Best of luck to you.

mommytofive - Tuesday, 29 April
Hello, I had REALLY BAD Mastiis a while back and I did everything you are doing, nothing helped. I called my midwife and he perscribed some antibiotics, and I did the hot shower thing but , while I was in the shower I took a brush, the kind you brush your hair with and I litterlly brushed my boob!! It helped to move the clot. I know it sounds dumb, but it worked for me. Call the doc and start that way. let me know how you feel. take care.

mmc - Monday, 28 April
the lactation consultant says to placethe baby so that the tongue is nearest to the clogged duck. You may have to nurse the baby lying down to get the right position. good luck!

Bri - Monday, 28 April
It looks like you are doing everything you can. I'm sorry, that really hurts! The only option that I can think of is calling your doctor. I wonder if she can prescibe something for it. If not, then you are doing what needs to be done. Keep pumping AND hand expressing. Hand expressing actually gets more out. Massage and lots of heat. Good Luck

karenc - Monday, 28 April
hi there - one of the other girls in mo 2 unclogged a duct by pumping and massaging at the same time -- her husband helped her. good luck!

o0kathryn0o - Monday, 28 April
Oh, and if you search YouTube for "babywearing" there's hundreds of videos showing how to nurse in a sling! Good luck at the park!

o0kathryn0o - Monday, 28 April
There's a lot of how-to's on sling wraps on the la leche forum. There's some really great ideas on nursing and wearing. Even videos of how other moms put them on and nurse. Unfortunately the babywearing forums are for members only, so you have to register, but it only takes a minute and there's a lot of very experienced people that are so helpful! http://forums.llli.org/ Maybe the amusement park will be b/f friendly b/c it's a family place and they'll have areas for moms to go.

o0kathryn0o - Thursday, 24 April
Oh...and you have a beautiful family!

o0kathryn0o - Thursday, 24 April
There sure is a growth spurt at 3 months. It doesn't last long though, and your milk supply will adjust. Just don't be tempted to supplement with formula. It'll seem like it satisfies babe more, but it's no good for your supply. But you probably know that. www.kellymom.com is packed full of breastfeeding info. Here's a page on growth spurts http://www.kellymom.com/bf/normal/growth-spurt.html Good luck and enjoy breastfeeding!
