Happy 4th everyone! Im officially 34 weeks today! went to dr and she said they will be inducing at 39 weeks if my baby boy doesnt come by 8/8/08! i go back in 2 weeks for strep b test, position of baby, and to see if im dialating or anything!!! i am so ready to hold my little man in my arms. We have everything we could possibly need, now just waiting on baby boy! I hope everyone is doing well in their pregnancies and cant wait for us to get to the end!! talk to everyone soon

It's too bad you don't live in Calgary Alberta! There is noone aloud in the delivery room except the father-to-be and maybe one other person if the doctors permit it. They also do not allow any visitors in the hospital after the baby is born, everyone has to wait until you get home. It's kind of nice. Maybe tell your mom that it's hospital policy, if the rooms are too crowded people will get in the way of anything that may need to happen after the baby is born.

There is no way I would have anybody in the delivery room with my other than my husband. This is my 2nd pregnancy. With my 1st, I had to show my ass and hurt my sister and brother in laws feelings. Either way, I don't need my family seeing my private parts. And I just want my husband there. I think if anyone else were there and tryed to tell me what to do. I'd just go off. That would be worse.

My mother actually agrees that the birth is a special time for my husband and I, and she does not want to be in the room when Hunter is born. Now, my mother in-law on the other hand, I fear will want to be there for every stinkin' second. But, I've talked with my husband and told him that I want it to be just he and I in the delivery room with the doctor and nurses. No family. It's our moment when we first meet our son, no one elses. I'm going to have a talk with the nurses and doctors at the labor and delivery unit and tell them that when it comes time for the pushing and for him to be born, I want everyone out of the room except my husband. I hope they will respect my wishes. Even though it's my mother in-law and not my mother, I understand where you are coming from. It's a special moment in time for us and our wishes should be respected.

A lot of hospitals have a limit to how many people can be in the room. If you need to just tell your mom you are allowed one support person. I would be sure and tell the nurse they usually will back you up. I did this with my mother-in-law. After the delivery she did find out I could have more in there, but I swore that's not what I was told. LOL. Whatever works.
