Hi Ellen, soooo sorrryyy, short reply from me. Its 11pm, i have been watching a movie and am off to bed, but feel guilty about not getting on here to talk to you, so thought I would drop a quick line. Poor caleb, h f and mouth affects all kids differently. HOping he doens't get all those horrible blisters. My nephew had it last month and he couldn't eat for about 3 days coz the blisters hurt in his throat when he swallowed, but i know another girl that got it and she only got a few blisters on her hands and botom, so you never know. Let me know how he gets on. Wow, donating milk to premmies, thats really sweet of you. i havne't heard of that here, but what a lovely gesture. I am a great cow (LOL), so would be good at that myself, but dont' know that that happens in NZ. How is Cole doing> Jess has check up at 16weeks weighed in at 15.pds and 63cm long. What is Coles weight and height now? Cody weighed in at 33pds and 91cm at 2yrs old. So he is a big strong healthy lad. LOL. Codys party over........ yaaaa...... b/c of storm last weekend, I had a nother week to worry about everything being right, but it finally came and went without a hitch. Teh weather was really bad again, rain but not as much wind, so a few didn't show up, but who we had and no.s worked out good, there were abotu 20 here in the end, but was good b/c we were all stuck inside. But cody had a really really great day, which is what matters the most. But pleased its all over now. Still cant' belive he is 2 and still can't believe jess is 4 months old in another 5 days, weird, where does time go. I def want another baby though, i was thinking about it yday. I want to have another beautiful baby and exp that whole meeting my new baby all over, who woundlt'!! So any more news from you end? ARe you 2 stillt rying??? Well got to get off to bed, eyes are closing on me. Will try to write soon, just seem soo damn busy theses days, but great thing is we have wicked routine going and kids work like clockwork, and Cody has started having a day nap again over past 4 days, so might get a little me time back.... we'll see.

Hi Ellen, not at all!! I have just been very busy and haven't had time to finish my msg from other day. I come in here quickly to check for msgs every day, but don't always have time to sit and write to you, as i love to write and write and write....... Alan has been busy with work and jess seems to be awake alot more of the day. Plus i have been busy all week organising codys 2nd bday (which is on wed), but was supposed to be having the party today, but a huge storm is passing over the country so I postponed party until next saturday. I can't belive he is going to be 2 already!!!! So have been really busy, thats why i haven't sat down to write.

So how are things going? How is Cole? Jess is becoming more and more a little person. She is holding rattles now, which is really cute. Genereally likes being on her tummy. All is going really good. Is Cole staying awake longer periods of time now. Jess has 2 hour bursts now, with 2 big sleeps in the day, which is right now (9.30-12.30) and then (2.30-5.30) so has three 2 hours times awake. I feel a bit bad sometimes, coz i spend all my time with her when shes awake and I think Cody sometimes feels left out. (do you feel like this with Caleb sometimes?) I think he can't wait for her to be able to play with him, he just keeps asking her if she wants to ride his bike and sit at his table, it is so darn cute!! She has also just found her tounge i think. She pokes it out all the time and makes big growling noises, its really funny. Whats new?

We are just very busy here, but some light relief with party being cancelled. I have 40 guests coming, 27 adults and 13 kids, so have postponed so we get a nicer day and they can play outside on the deck. The gale force winds are just picking up, so its going to be a biggy. They said on news its a once in a decade storm.

We have friends coming over tonight for a poker night. I am very 0xcited, I will get to have a couple bourbon and cokes, yaaaaaaa. HOpe all is well, sorry its taken me so long to get back to you, will write again soon.

Hey ellen, thanks for the photos. It is so great to see your little guys. They are both adorable. You are right, Cole is a healthy lad and little Caleb looks like the man of the house. Very very cute. You are very lucky to have 2 such handsome little men! Is it possible to be any more in love with your own baby. I have just been laying on the bed with Jess talking to her and she smiles up at me, and you know its such a sincere smile. I just melted and kissed her heaps and heaps. she had her 3mnth immunistaions today. What a horrible thing to go through. 3 needles. UUUgggghhhhh!! I held her little hands and talked to her while they stuck the needles in, poor wee girl. its all over now until 5mths. hav 2 finish ths later

bUMMMMERRRRR!! That af arrived. Sounds like you might have been pleased for it not to have. And Ben too!!!! Wow, it would prob be pretty full on having morning sickness with such a little one and Caleb. I remember feeling like absolute crap with m/s with just Cody. I lay on the floor and he played aroudn me for quite a few days. It sounds like you 2 might be looking into another bubs sooner than me. I would love to sooner but I agree with you, you have to enjoy the ones you've got. I aim to start trying again at end of next year (def don't want another summer pregnancy again, it was a struggle!!! But I def want another!!! I think Alan does, but doesn't admit it, and i think i can push it. I really doubt he would have vascectomy though......after a 3rd. You're lucky Ben is so willing. I don't want to get my tubes tied or anything, so not sure how we'll cope when our family rasing days are over. I am not on birth control now and we too 'pulling out'(tmi) when it actaully even happens.... LOL. I have some mini pills to take but not yet. I don't imagine our sex life will really take off until I have finished breast feeding. Until my hormones get back to normal, it seems to affect me and I find it quite uncomfortable. Thankfuly Alan understands.... Petrol is insanely priced here. It is $2.19 a litre at the mo and goes up weekly. NOt sure about litres and gallons, the comparisons and also when you convert the us dollar to nz dollar??? But it has gone up heaps. Last year it was only 97c a litre and has rocketed. Groceries are very very expensive. My weekly grocery bill has risen about 60$. We are coping thankfully, but have to keep a tight budget!! We also too are discussing recessions in this counrty. They just said on the news tongiht we are in a recession, but it won't be announced until next quarterly budget. But things are getting tough. WE have govt elections in oct, so hoping a new govt can try to turn things around. teh opposition party is promising to do that (but all politicians are full of shite) we'll see......
Jess just moved into her own room on saturday, into her 'big bed' the cot. I feel like my 'little new born' is gone. Its really sad. But she looks like a cute tiny teeny dot in the cot. It just melted me seeing her look so tiny again. She moved with no fusses at all. She is generally up at 6-7.30, 10.30-12, 3.30 - 5, 6-8 and then sleeps through until 6am. We have got a pretty good routine going. I am very lucky she is such a good sleeper. Have you got much of a routine going yet??? or just goin with the flow? I have no idea at all how much jess is drinking??? I am just b-feeding and have only expressed twice and she refused the bottle, so haven't bothered again since. WE also measure our milk out in mls, so not sure about ounces wise?? I won't be starting her on cereal (it is called farex here, is this what you mean, baby rice?) until she is 6mths old. We seem to be coping with just b.milk for now, but who knows if she gets hungrier than I can keep up with, may start her at 5 months. My friends baby got her frist teeth last week and just before she was 4mths old That is early aye!! When did Cole get his frist teeth? Cody was just 6mths old. Please try to get pics up, am dying to see Cole and would love to see Caleb too! Great to hear from you. Will write again soon

Hi ellen, its so good to be able to talk to you again. Jessica and I are both getting better now. Cody now has it and Alan also had it, so the whole family got a blast of the flu/cold. We were all miserable and was so horrible to litsten to jess struggling to breathe!!! Sounds like Cole is keeping you busy. He will grow out of that fussy stage, I reckon their tummies just need to be strong enough to handle wind etc. Jess fusses heaps if I don't wind her properly during feeds. I usually stop twice during feeding her to burp her, she gets stressed at me when I stop her feeding but makes a huge difference to her relaxed state after feeding and she always settles for her sleeps. If I go from the start of the feed to the end without stopping I seem to struggle with her all day. Do you wind Cole during feeding?? I think if you get the burps out from the initial feeding, then they dont get trapped under the hind milk. Don't know if you do that, but worth a try it seems to help jess. But I know what you mean about the whole baby puke aroma LOL. Its my perfume half the time too. She is not a spilly baby, but when it does happen I always seem to wear it!!! I love breastfeeding jess. I will try to feed her up to a year. Cody made it to 8months, then refused to b-feed anymore, which worked out great, but I did want to keep going at the time. But am hoping to go for about a year with jess. Are you topping Cole up with formula too? Have you tried expressing during feeds to increase your supply? how is cole sleeping during the night. I was so lucky, jess started sleeping through from 8wks and 1 day, 8pm - 5am. And sleeps most of the day too. she has her wakeful time from 3 - 8, but has 2 short sleeps in teh middle of that. Now you ask 'do i miss being pregnant'? its so funny, but i have thought of not much else since I haven't been pregnnat. I know there were hard times at the end of the 40wks there, where I wanted it over, but i just miss sooo much that feeling of having a bubs inside, the exciteemnt of a new baby, I see other pregnant women sometimes and think I wish that was me. I have thought of getting pregannat again since jess arrived. I know it would be the craziest craziest thing in the world to get preggers so soon, but in a few months???? who knows. Alan seems to think we are fine with a family of 4 as we have 1 of each. But I ahve always wanted 3 kiddies. I always planned that the end of 2009 we'd start trying for no.3 so I have a some time to work on him..... LOL. But yes I miss it and I know what you mean about the itch!!!! Bleeding; I bled for about 5 weeks, but it was pretty light after about 4. Then it stopped completely at about 6. I haven't had anything since. I didn't get my period until jan after I had cody in july so that was about 6 months. INfact it coincided with when we started solids, I guess he was feeding a little less and that bought on a period, but then I had 2 months without then 1 period and then I got pregnant again, but then the m/c, then 1 period, then preggers again, so I only had 3 periods in between my babys. If you had bfn's then I wou'dnt worry too much that your period hasn't returned, enjoy life without it for a bit. Are you using protection for sex??? You can be ovulating before a period, so if you arent' you could very possibly get preggers. I would'nt worry too much about period not returning yet, breats feeding is supposed to stop it coming back. If you are feeding reg 3/4 hourly then mostly the hormones stop you ovulating, butyou never know when it is goign to return. I have had no signs of it, not even c/m or anything. i hate periods so don't miss them. I assume mine will return aroudn the time I start jess on solids. I ahve not started birth control yet. Alan and I aren't doing it enough to warrant it. I am really sore down there (sorry tmi) and apparently it is the lack of hormones due to breastfeeding. I had the same problem after cody was born, until I stopped breastffeding. Its very stingy, so don't often feel in the mood to be honest. Alan isn't stressing too much about it as he knows what I am going through. Jess is growing fast too. She is a big girl, both her and cody were big babys. She is mvoing into 3-6months clothes, but thats about right as she is 3mths old today. Although she has been in them for 2/3 weeks now. haha. I have her plunket weigh in in 2 weeks to see how much she has grown. I have to buy her new clothes soon too. It is winter now and if she has a messy day, then most of her things are either in wash, drying or dirty, so have had 2 days where I have put her in 6-9mths things that I have aside for later as it was all i had for her to wear. She looked like a little clown LOL all baggy and cute. Well you get some photos on asap, i can't wait to see Cole and how much he has grown. I will put some new ones on soon too. I will write again soon. Cody is at daycare until lunch time and jess is sleeping, so have shower to have, house work to do and then my parents will be here after lunch. It was so GREAT to hear from you. I was actually starting to worry about you. I was just telling one of my friends last week about you and saying I hadn't heard from you since Cole was born. So was very glad to hear that you are well. I will write properly to you in the next day or 2. My parents and neice are here this week staying, so am keeping busy with them. Jessica and I have both been very sick last 2 days, with cold/flu. its been so horrible watching her suffer, having so much trouble breathing and having such a horrible cough, but we bot seem to both be starting to get over it today. But in general we are all doing just great. My family are here now, so have to go, but will write you tomorrow. I am so so pleased to hear from you Ellen, I did miss talking to you. p.s. i hope to see some updated photos of Cole if you get the chance.
