My profile

Hello Everyone! I am a 24 year old living in upstate NY. Me and my boyfriend are expecting our first baby in December and it is a very exciting time for the whole family! No one is surprised at the pregnancy being we have been living together for years now! The first trimester was a very difficult one, I had morning sickness all the time. I still dont see why they call it that when it lasts all day and all night. Everything seemed to ease off around 14 weeks, now I get a little nauseaus if I haven't eaten enough and that is it. The aches and pains are coming but at least it is all for something so beautiful in the end. We have our appointment for ultrasound to determine the sex on July 28th and we are both very excited. Our last ultrasound was at 5 weeks and all i saw was a speck of white. I can't wait to see my little one!

July 29, 2008- The ultrasound confirmed the thoughts of my boyfriend.....ITS A BOY!!!! Everything was soooo healthy and beautiful what an overwhelming feeling. This ultrasound made everything seem more real! I can't wait to hold my little angel!

hey there. i had my glucose test yesterday and it was a piece of cake! all you do is drink this really sugary drink, it almost tasted like orange slice. and then wait to have your blood drawn. i was definitely starving by the end, so maybe bring something to eat!

I had a root canal this past Monday! It was HORRIBLE!!! Well, that's a little exaggeration because the horrible-ness didn't last but a day :-) I was prescribed hydocodone for the pain by my OBGYN, so the pain got knocked out pretty quick & my little guy was active too! Glad it's over for ya!

Hi there! I was reading about your trip to the dentist and I am so nervous. I have a root canal scheduled for in the morning. I have the worst pain in the world(it seems like). I cracked my tooth on a tootsie pop of all things! Is there anything that you can tell me to help me out? Anyway, I am so happy it is over for you. I hope you are feeling better and are able to eat all you want!

I am happy to help! Baby dust to you too!

You can claim your baby on your 2008 taxes as long as you have him/her by 11:59 on 12/31. Yeah!!!! I would hate to wait a whole year. Of course, that is if the babies cooporate! Hope you are well. (btw: I know this b/c I spoke to the lady who does my taxes about it) Hope it helps!

Thanks for the info!

Just read your rant about your boyfriend. I personally would put a boundry up and not tolerate it. I would not make excuses for him that he is adjusting. Drinking is not a coping mechanism for anything, not a healthy one anyways. I hope you are able to have an honest conversation with him and that things get better for you. I had been through a pregnancy with a whole lot of that and it is not fun. I hope this helps.

First thing first is you need to make sure you and the baby are ok...and then you need to put your foot down and make him understand that what he is doing is not ok. give him some time to adjust, he is going through alot as well.

I totally know what you are going through. My husband {who is 2 years younder then me} still loves to go out with his friends & drink. They usually just stay close around our place 4 wheeling or just playing around on our farm...but meanwhile I am inside pregnant..and taking care of our 3 year old daughter! It used to make me sooo upset...but after a while I just decided not to get worked up about it. I know he is ALOT more mature then all his friends {he is the only one of them married with children}
He did this same thing before our daughter was born {he was worse actually LoL}....so I know once this baby is born he will smarten up his act & start being responsible again.
So just try to keep calm for that baby's sake...and hopefully everything will be fine!

hey sweets - i know its hard but men really really really identify with working, their jobs and bringing in money. we might think of it as "just a job" but its really a big part of feeling like a man to them. esp with a baby on the way, im sure a part of him is kind of scared. i would say give him a week or so to blow off steam if you can and then you can start nagging then. ha!

Thank you so much! It is so good to know you are not alone in something and that other people feel the same exact way! lol I just went maternity shopping today..the first time in my life I actually like to shop! Good luck to you as well!

I think you're perfectly right to be mad, the BF just can't see it yet. My BF (of 9 years) was very upset about our unplanned pregnancy and did quite a lot of drinking a month or two ago and even drove drunk a few times! I was furious. I even emailed his mom (in Finland) to see if she could talk some sense into him. Apparently it's worked... he's been in Finland for three weeks visiting friends and family and will come home tomorrow... he says he's stopped drinking and also wants to go to counseling. Just keep putting your foot down and doing what you need to do for yourself and the baby. Good Luck!

lol, thank you! i had figured it was round ligament pain but what i read about it was a little different from what i was experiencing...like i didnt have any pain in my groin or anything. yeah sometimes laying down doesn't help it go away either. it eventually does but nothing seems to help it.

good luck to you as well!! i think nesting can hit at any time, it just may be more common at the end. just think how clean our houses will be in 4 months..... ;-)
