Hay everyone i thought i might start writing a journal that way i can look back on it. Im currently 17 weeks and 3 days pregnant and apart from having a blocked and running nose i am feeling great! I had the strangest dream last night that i had to have an emergency c- section and it was a boy lol! It was so real and crazy! I cant wait to find out what im having i find out on the 23rd of this month so in 13 days!! We are hoping that we are having a girl but dont mind either way. My tummy has been stretching loads lately and can feel sore at times but its a good feeling knowing baby is growing! Well thats all for now!

Well today we went for our fetal anatomy scan and to find out what the sex is and im very pleased to say we are having a lil boy!!! Riley joshua! Cant wait to meet him. He is doing very well and is very healthy he actually weighs in at the 20 weeks and 1 day mark!! wow I might be having a big baby!!Craig and i are soo happy!

Just a small update not much else has been happenin but Rileys kicks are getting stronger each day he kicks me in the early hours of the morning and this morning Craig felt him!! It was soooo cool he was stoked! Each day is getting closer and closer to my due date!ahhh getting scary its going so quickly. Well thats all for now will update later.

Well im feeling great at the moment its 4 days until xmas and im going home to spend time with my family!! I cannot wait! i havent been home in 7 months so it will be awesome to catch up with everyone. Im sure Riley will be very spoiled for xmas this year! Ive been feeling rather sore lately and had a tight tummy here and there i think im just stretching some more! wahoo!!!! Gosh i keep looking at the size of my bump going wow im gonna be huge by the time im full term! im totally freaking but i love my bump. I noticed yesterday for the first time i have two stretch marks 1 under each breast!!ahhhhhhh Hay i can't expect to get through this pregnancy without one stretch mark can i!! I have an u/s coming up on the 28th of December at the hospital. They are going to just have a look at babys heart now, they did an ECG and the doctor did an in depth look at my heart and all is well so im so happy that im ok as i was a lil worried for a while. Baby has got no problems with his heart but the obstertrician just wants to have a look himself. Riley is a good boy is a very happy baby kicking away inside me! I sooooo can't wait to meet him!Well thats all for now il update after xmas!

Hay all hope you all had a great xmas!!! I had a wonderful time down south in Oamaru with my family it was good to catch up with them all! I didn't want to go home i got home and cried and cried. Any way i had a scan today as the doc wanted to check Riley's heart but all is great and i will never have to go back to the hospital for anything until labour day as i have been told i have no problems and Riley's heart and my heart are normal! AND OMG! he has grown so much! I have put my 24 weeks u/s pic up if you want to have a look at our lil man. He was moving loads and he stared right at us and it looked like he was chewing a biscuit!!!lol! soooooo cool but really it was him swallowing amniotic fluid. He is such a cute lil thing. I have also put on alot of weight lately but have found wearing three quarter length tights soooo comfy with a long top i could live in them! Well thats all for now will update soon and put a new belly pic up!

Well today i had a midwife appt and it went really well! Our lil boy Riley is doing just great and his heartbeat was 140 bpm! He is situated breech at the moment but has plenty of time yet to move so nothing to worry about. I also booked my breastfeeding classes for next month and have my antenatal classes starting this month on the 22nd! Boy oh boy! what a busy few months huh! I have sooooo much yet to do before the arrival of Riley but just taking it day by day and we will be just fine! Riley is kicking me like crazy am i think its cos im listening to music!lol I think hes got the musician trait in him from his daddy! how sweet!! I sooooooo can't wait to meet him its exciting!!

Sooooo.... im now 29 weeks and 4 days and as each day gets closer and closer Riley gets bigger and bigger! Im really feeling strong movements now, when i sit down to watch tele he kicks so hard my whole body moves lol its soooo cute! He can sometimes kick up to half an hour without stopping. I can't believe how fast they grow! I have now about 11 weeks left and i have half packed my bag and have packed Riley's bag but yet to wash the clothing and all first. Im going to do that once i have gotten the last few things. I have my midwife appt thjis Tuesday and cant wait to hear his lil hear beat again! I will start seeing the midwife every 2 weeks after this appt so that will be good. I'm hoping i get another u/s at some point to see how big he has gotten but we will see! UPDATE!!

Well, well, well im now 32 weeks and 5 days! We made have up Riley's bassinet now and its up in our room, it looks sooooo cute! Its hard to believe that i really only have under 7 weeks left. We have got everything pretty much sorted now. Have got only his carseat and 2 other things to get! I can;t believe we have done it! I was so worried that we won't have everything ready in time but we do! The past 8 months have been some of the hardest times i have ever been through and my bf Craig. We have survived off one wage and aswell as that i have carried a healthy lil baby and we have done it all on our own! Its definatley been a journey but it is one i will never forget. I have my last antenatal class tomorow night so then its all in our hands! wow! sooo overwhelming! We are very excited to meet our son! I have put new belly pics up!! So check them out! i have definatley started to drop and i think i have the road map of New Zealand on my belly lol the stretch marks are very bad! But hay they tell a story so im rather proud! I went for my scan yesterday to see how big Riley is measuring as i was measuring 38 weeks at my last midwife appt!! The scan was very uncomfy and was soooo har to lie on my back but Riley is definatley gonna be a big baby as he is weighing in at 6 pound 11 ounces!!! I KNOW I WAS IN COMPLETE SHOCK AS I'M ONLY 34 WEEKS AND 3 DAYS! He is looking very healthy and everything is looking like it should be so thats great news. I have my midwife appt next week on thursday to find out what is gonna happen and discuss the scan results then. Im feeling very nervous and scared yet so excited at the same time. Im so ready for this baby to come out im very sore and have been getting really bad cramps and hip pain. Maybe its a sign! I don't know but we will wait and see. I had a call from the midwife today and she told me the results of my scan and i have extra fluid in my uterus which isnt harming the baby but means i have a higher chance of early labour as my waters can break alot easier. That worries me as i dont really want to deliver now or i will have to leave my son in the neonatal unit for a while. She also told me i have to have another glucose test done to check again for gestational diabetes as i couldve develped it later in the pregnancy. Sooooooo this is all a bit much for me to ake in but i just hope my baby Riley will be delivered safely and healthy!

Had my 35 weeks midwife appt today all went well and baby is turning from the posterior postion yay!!! I did the regular pee on a stick that i do every appt and it had traces of blood in it which means my cervix is changing and starting to thin! wahoo!!!! The midwife got my glucose test results back and they came back clear and sweet so no problems there! I am measuring 39 weeks now and i will recieve an appt soon for the hospital to discuss why i have extra fluid and what is gonna happen in these later stages of my pregnancy. They may discuss induction because of babys size but its not for definate and may not happen all depends on Riley's growth! The midwife also said hes 3/5 when she felt his head so i think she was saying hes 3/5 engaged but not clearly sure. Sooooooo it has been a great day knowing my cervix is changing! My lil guy will be here in no time! CANNOT WAIT!!!

Well great news everyone! I had a midwife appointment yesterday and Riley is engaged and ready to come into this world! Im soooo excited and can't wait to meet him! Bring on labour i say! Im 37 weeks today and my boyfriend Craig is soooo dam excited!Its sooo sweet! He wants Riley to come right now and doesn't want to wait any longer! Hes been so great through this whole preganancy! I dont know what i would've done without him! He has been my rock! Well hopefully the next time i am posting on this page my gorgeous lil boy will be here!! Congrats to all mummys and mums to be! You are all doing great!

LABOUR PREDICTION!

Get your bags packed early just in case you need them. Make sure your partner has a phone available when he's away because this baby just might come early. Birth story.

Well i went into labour on Thursday 24th April 2008 and laboured all day i took a bath and relaxed and just tried to take it easy as i knew i needed as much energy as i can get! It got to 6.00pm and by then my mum had arrived and i was like i ned to be in the hospital now for some pain relief. Craig called the midwife and asked her to come and see me she said ok il b there in an hour after i have my shower i was like WHATTTTTT!!! You are kidding me! It was the longest hour in my life!! She got there at 7.00pm and examined me and said ok ur cervix has definatlet thinned we can go in if u feel more comfy so off we went! I got there and into my room and just drank fluids and chose the gas for a start and found it was useless and wasnt helping me at all.Until the contractions got stronger and more regular i decided ok enuf is enuf i need something more as the contractions were getting a lil more stronger so the midwife asked me if i wanted 100mg of pethidine so i said ok as i didnt want the epidural. I took that and it diod nothing but gave me a chance to rest and made me a lil drowsy. It was good to have a rest. Later on the contractions were very close together and the midwife suggested the epi so i was like yip im up for it! the anesthetist came in to put the iv in my hand but it wouldnt work as the tube wouldnt stay in my hand and blood apparently was everywhere from them trying to put it in my hand! Well i gave the gas another go and off i went and really concentrated on breathing! i got through it on that and for u ladies reading this u really must breath and really focus!! I went from 3cm dialated to 6cm in half an hour and then to 10cm! and 6 1/2 - 7 hours later after pushing for 1 hour out he came! my beautiful baby boy! I couldnt be happier Craig and i are so over the moon!! I love being a mummy!!

Well my lil Riley is now 3 weeks old and 3 days! wow does time fly! Im sooooo busy all the time and barely get time to get anything done let alone be on here! Im loving being a mummy its so rewarding! Riley is such a content lil boy and loves cuddles and falling asleep in my arms! His lil grin and smiles are so sweet! Im no longer breast feeding as i found it far to stressful so am expressing a few feeds a day and hes on formula! Hes putting on the weight really well and the plunket nurse is very pleased! Well ladies gotta go see to the wee man catch yas all later!

Hay all u mummas and mummas to be! Hope You are all doing well! i miss u all! Riley is growing so fast hes now 17 pound 11 oz and 66cm tall (2.15) ft, and is doing very well! He can now hold his head up on his tummy and grabs toys and plays with them! Hes such a happy lil boy still sleeping great! He has 2-3 naps in the day and sleeps through the night from 6-5.30am in the morning! hes such a great baby! I have yet to put new pics up but struggle to find the time! Take care girls here from yas soon!
