It's a GIRL!!!!!!

I have been married to my one and only true love.....my husband, Barry for 14 years and we have two beautiful children. This pregnancy was a surprise, but we are happy and feel very blessed.

5/27/08 I had my amnio today, so far everything looks great! Our little girl is growing bigger and looks healthy!

How`s my pregnancy doing?

So did everything work out ok? I guess I should be grateful that I had mine out at 4 since I don't remember it - except getting shots in the butt! Yeah, I can't believe how quick time is going. I have thought about delivery a lot lately too. Did your first two come early, on time, late? My surgeon just asked me if I had my induction date y"et and I was like "yeah, right! I'm Kaiser. Actually, I want him to come naturally, but I'm sure at 39 weeks I'll be like "Induce, Induce!!"

I ordered the belly cast kit from babiesrus.com. My birthday is Oct. 6, so we plan on doing it then, since the due date will be so close. I thought about having the kids paint it in different shades of pink and hanging it in the nursery for awhile. For my hip and back pain my doctor wants me to go to physical therapy twice a week. I have not made an appointment yet because as I figure it will cost me $60 a week , so I am prolonging it as long as I can stand it. Because I am trying to put back any extra money I get. I know what you mean about being tired at 5pm. When I get home from work I am done And thinking about what to make for dinner is so frustrating. I have been trying to cook large meals 3-4 times a week and then we eat leftovers. I try to cook 2 packages of chicken at a time so I can make chicken salad and sandwiches out of it the next day. Fortunately my husband has been doing a lot of grocery shopping and housework, so I do not have to worry about that. But he works nights and so he is not at home at night.

It's official - I failed the 3hr. and have GD. This sucks! It's bad enough to lose wine and alcohol, then sushi, cold cuts, soft cheeses and now carbs and sweets!!!! I told one of my friends today that after this baby is born, I may just become a fat alcoholic!!!

At least, as you said, it's not all the time. It does, however, worry me about the future. Your odds of developing Type II Diabetes within the next 10 years go up quite a bit once you have GD and I've now had it twice. I'll deal with that bridge when I come to it. As it is, I can't get into the nutritionist for 2 weeks (we leave for the beach - Hilton Head Island, SC - in the morning) so I'll have to be really careful until then.

OK, I've got more packing to do -gotta run. Have a fantastic weekend!!!!

Funny prediction! I found out my body was out of alignment when I could no longer cross my legs. I also had terrible hip pain and a pain that shoots out the right side of my lower back. My doctor said that my muscles in my pubic area had softened and that my pubic bones had begun to seperate. She said that my posture and being on my feet all day have made it worse. She said this was common in women who have had 1 or more kids. Can you believe we will hit the 30 week mark here soon? It's just going by so fast! I ordered a belly cast kit, so we can always remember how HUGE I am. I hope your hip gets to feeling better. My kids were bald forever too, maybe this go around our babies will have hair.

Daisey - Thursday, 17 July
Oh, poor girl...and poor Mom. You'll both get through it just fine. :-) I think my last measurement taken July 10 was 25cm. She said it was right on target. Hope so. I'm really noticing quick growth now. He's poking out more and more. Girl, I'm ready to rip my eyes out! Itchy, sore, goopy, still swollen. I can't wait to get the sutures out tomorrow and scrub my face!!

babyfever - Thursday, 17 July
The website is http://pregnancyandbaby.com/pregnancy/baby/Madame-Zaritska-predicts-your-birth-experience-736.htm My first two were only six pounders, so a baby that weighs 8 ibs 14 oz is frightening!!! My doctor said that I could phisically handle 8 lbs or less. I am also hoping for a shorter labor than 14 hours! Sorry about your heartburn, I had it when I was pregnant with Jack and it was miserable. The only time I get it is ocassionally when I take my prenatal vitamin. I feel good, but working on my feet all day is already wearing me down. I come home from work and put my feet up til bedtime. My doc has me starting physical therapy next week b/c my pubic bones have already begun to seperate and it is causing me to be out of alignment. This morning I woke up and realized how different this experience is in a body that is nearly 10 years older this time around! I hope you get some relief from your heartburn.

Daisey - Wednesday, 16 July
I have my sutures removed on Friday. Hopefully they'll say I can start jogging again soon. Walking is good, but I feel like I need to do more. I had to have my tonsils removed when I was 4 years old. They caused me to get sick a lot. Why for your daughter? Who's more nervous, her or Mom?

Daisey - Wednesday, 16 July
Oh yeah, I'm a real f'ing beauty! I don't know what was removed, actually. I assume both. At this point I can see a crease on my eyelid though. :-) Yeah, no jogging. :-( I can only walk right now so I'll probably walk an hour a day. Isn't that what you do now?

Daisey - Wednesday, 16 July
Yep, awake and it sucked! I'm not a wuss, but when it's the eye area, I was very anxious the entire time. Scalpel. Kevin has huge sun spots on his upper back and shoulders. I should have him do that, too. I look so nasty right now....

Daisey - Tuesday, 15 July
Check out your updated picture! Love it! I think we're the same size. Thanks for the vote of confidence in my pics, but they are only pics. Deceiving angles? Anyway, I'll take the compliment! At 6 months pregnant, I need all I can get! Yeah, my sister had a BM when she gave birth. It didn't bother me at all. I was so into the process. I'm not one to worry about that type of thing. If anybody in the room doesn't like it, they are welcome to leave. :-) I had surgery on my eyes yesterday - an upper blepharoplasty. Man, am I uncomfortable. Just like after boob jobs, you have to sleep upright. I hate that. I didn't sleep much at all. :-(

Daisey - Monday, 14 July
I've been craving sweets, too - donuts in particular. So far, so good with staying away but if something happens to fall in front of me at a gathering, etc.....it's all over!! That's great about your shower. Wish we weren't so far. I don't know if I'm getting one or not. Does the epidural shot hurt or do the labor pains disguise it?

shocked - Monday, 14 July
GD is just a pain because you constantly have to be thinking about what you are going to eat and when you are going to eat it. You're not supposed to go more than 3-4 hours tops between eating things and you have to constantly prick your finger in the morning and one hour after each meal to check your levels. I was able to control mine with diet last time, so Thank God I didn't have to give myself insulin shots - that would be way worse.

I have NEVER had to do the full bladder u/s. I've heard it's really hard to enjoy it because you have to pee so bad!

I can't believe you are coaching cheerleading - what a brave soul! Do your kids start back to school after Labor Day?

Daisey - Sunday, 13 July
It keeps getting worse! Kevin took some pictures of me yesterday, and man, how things can change so damn quickly! I just can't get over it. I've still been doing push-ups every other day but I can't go down as far since my belly hits the floor. I do some dumbbells, too, and even though the muscle underneath is tight, the fatty cover prevails! My face has now blimped out. Yes, did the glucose test twice so far and doing it again in 3 weeks. I had the Fruit Punch flavor and it actually wasn't bad at all. I did the full bladder U/S at 20 weeks and that was uncomfortable. When I arrived, I had to go so badly that they let me release a little bit in the bathroom. Oh yes, it's smoky up here, alright! Haven't seen a blue sky in a while....just nasty haze. On the upside, the smoke has been shielding the hot direct rays so, being pregnant, I kind of like that. I'm getting most of my baby stuff from family. We've only bought a onesie and a sun hat for him so far. As far as birth, I'm going for natural but not opposed to an epidural at all. My sister, who has 3 kids, says there's nothing glorifying about natural - get the epidural! Have you ever had an epidural?

Daisey - Saturday, 12 July
I'm at 15 pounds too, up to 135! :-) I can see the fat stores in my thighs and tricep and back areas - where I typically store fat. It's just weird it happened in the last week since camping. It seems if I eat something bad, it stays with me. Wonder if you'll notice when I take my 25 week photos on Monday. It was funny, I cut my hair the other day and had someone take a photo from the back so I could see it and when I saw my (overnight) fat triceps and back, I freaked. Man, and I still got 3 months to go?? Scary stuff. YOU are the one who looks good, Stac! Remember, I've had no kids. There's no way I'd pull off your body had I.

Daisey - Friday, 11 July
I went to the doctor today. I've gained 6 lbs. in the last month. :-( I've been depressed ever since. My doctor isn't really good at giving me advice. She just asks if I have any questions and that's about it. When I asked her before about running, she just said what most do, to listen to my body. When I run now, I am having to wear my support belt a little tighter. I hate doing that 'cause it just pushes harder on my bladder and makes me feel like I have to pee constantly. But if I don't, I feel a little discomfort down there towards the end of my course.

BabyEby3 - Thursday, 10 July
Thank you so much!! Every prayer really helps I wish you and your baby the best of luck!!!

baby1@38 - Wednesday, 9 July
Thanks...it's good to know everyone is not down on the men today!! I know they have their faults and so do we...nobody is perfect! But, every time I feel this baby move inside me I think of the life that my husband and I have created and how happy I am to be able to give him this child. I had a miscarriage back in November and never felt like I had let him down so much and the one thing that is considered the womans "job" to bare children....I had failed at. He was great the whole time, he cried with me...made me laugh when I didn't want to but needed to and just loved me. He's a good man and will be a greater Daddy and he just deserves a little praise! Congratulations on your baby girl! It's good to see I'm not the only Mom that's not 20!

shocked - Wednesday, 9 July
I failed my 1hr glucose test - AGAIN. I've failed it for all 3 pregnancies but only had GD for the 2nd one. My reading was 168 - I think that's pretty high... crap! I have to have the 3 hr. next week and I'm not going to be happy if I have to deal with GD again. It's such a pain in the @ss!

For good news, I'm not anemic, my BP is still great and I only gained 1 lb this month, bringing the grand total to 15 (just like you!). Baby has a strong HB and the Dr. said I'm actually measuring ahead of 27 1/2 weeks. I'll try to focus on the positive!

Can you believe our school starts so early? I only have 4 more full weeks of the girls home - that sucks! We are so enjoying our summer, and I'm not mentally ready for it to be over, OR for this baby to be here.

Good luck with the tonsil-yank next week. My oldest did that in first grade. It wasn't horrible and they don't protest when you smother them with love and milkshakes!

Daisey - Wednesday, 9 July
5'5". Yeah, I keep getting called tiny, too. Never considered myself that either. Maybe because I was about 20 pounds heavier most of my life. It's really just my feet and ankles that swelled up. They were ok this morning, then again this evening they're puffy. Guess I need to keep them elevated any time I'm not walking. No, the ear tattoo didn't hurt. As far as my profile picture, for some reason it gets elongated when posted and makes me look thinner than I am. Never thought I'd complain about that! ;-) My belly profile shots, though, are pretty accurate. Yes, still jogging. Hope I don't have to quit before 30 weeks. That's my goal. Not sure if I feel Braxton's. I do get tightness/cramps once in a while. I'm definitely feeling him a lot more these past 3 days. It's the coolest thing sitting and watching my belly move. Love it!

babyfever - Wednesday, 9 July
Not wierd at all. I was thinking of adding a belly pic too, but I'll have to photo shop my thighs first!! lol

Daisey - Tuesday, 8 July
Why does he want you to gain 30? How tall are you? My doctor never even said what she wanted me to gain. I go in Thursday. I'm curious if she'll comment. My swelling has almost gone down this morning, thank goodness. I have a heart tat behind my ear and cat eyes down yonder. What are yours? I never asked about your due date being we're the same--Was the first day of your last menstrual Jan 21 or did they derive Oct. 27 from measurements? It would be a trip if we delivered the same day. :-)

babyfever - Tuesday, 8 July
I love the new picture! You look great!
