It's a GIRL!!!!!!
I have been married to my one and only true love.....my husband, Barry for 14 years and we have two beautiful children. This pregnancy was a surprise, but we are happy and feel very blessed.
5/27/08 I had my amnio today, so far everything looks great! Our little girl is growing bigger and looks healthy!

Wednesday, 24 September thanks so much for the info! shocked -
Tuesday, 23 September Just checking in on you! Nothing new here just in my final one week countdown and getting a little nervous, a little excited, etc. Not quite sure how my girls are going to get along with me in the hospital for 4 days but between my husband and my Mom, hopefully they will step up and take on a little more independence.
Did they schedule your last u/s yet?
Keep me posted! babyfever -
Monday, 22 September I don't think I could check myself for dialation. Two reasons: one, I would have no idea what i would be doing, and second, I don't think I am that flexible at the moment! The doctor said the swelling is from all the pressure from baby and the extra weight. I have already signed up for a boot camp 5 weeks after my due date to help get all this weight off. It's 5 days a week at 6am each morning for a month. I cannot wait to exercise again.
Are you waddeling? Somedays I can't believe I STILL have 35 days, and wonder how I am going to be mobile even in 2 weeks, and then other times I am overwhelmed by how fast it is approaching. My husband is out of town till Thursday to pour and showcase wine at some big party in Chapel Hill, NC. I am a little nervous about him being gone, but he does'nt know I feel that way. I think he was a bit nervous too.
I get to sit some at work. Everyone tries to put me in a wheeled office chair so I can push along the sales floor to help people. That does not work, I almost have to be on my feet, but I do get to sit more than before. Unfortunately, FMLA does not kick in till you give birth. My husband is going to ask my doc next week at our visit if she will go ahead and sign off on disability. Hopefully betweeen sciatica, pre-natal carpal tunel, a swollen croch and swollen feet, she will take mercy on me. :)
Take care!

Monday, 22 September The weird thing about my swelling down there is that my baby has not dropped yet! If she had I guess it would make it even more uncomfortable. I already have a bag of frozen peas I sit on when it gets bad! LOL. I want things to happen naturally too, but come 39 weeks I may be singing a different tune. Probably because work is kicking my butt. If my doc asked me today if I wanted to be induced at 39 weeks - I'd say "sign me up". But I am going to try to make it. Only 35 days to go!!! Are you going for your walks still? How are you feeling? mamatess -
Friday, 19 September They did a quick one when I went to the hospital on Tuesday night - hadn't felt her move in 2 days, so they wanted to check her out. They said she looked normal, and I have normal fluid. Perhaps I just have a big uterus! HAHA!

Friday, 19 September I went to the midwife yesterday. Everything is looking good, but she didn't do an internal exam. I have no idea if I'm dilated, but I would suppose at 34 weeks, probably not - but my fundal height is at 38CM! Any thoughts?

Friday, 19 September I'm ready for him too, Girl! At least I think I am. I really don't know what I'm in for like you do, but still...I want to see so badly this little being that moves within me. Yeah, I too am amazed how fast it's gone by. This move and me starting working at the third stage has really expedited it for me. Kevin is finally able to start focusing on the nursery this weekend and I can focus on finishing his blanket. I feel pretty much the same, just bigger. I'm definitely slower when I move/walk. I just started feeling pains down there this week and the heartburn has kicked in the past two days, too. Yuck, huh?!! Does anything work for you to relieve it? Sorry you have it 24/7. I'm not that bad yet. My last prenatal was 9/16. I measured 32cm and I think I was supposed to measure 34cm. Hope he's ok in there. Is Sienna progressing as expected? babyfever -
Thursday, 18 September Yes, they said they want the baby to stay in till 37 weeks, but they told me Monday at my visit that if I start to go into labor again they will not stop it because the baby will be okay. I have had a lot of pressure down there too. The other day I took a bath (I can no longer shave in the shower), and when I sat down I noticed how swollen my perineum was. It was so bizarre. My Dr. told me to freeze a can of soup and put it in my pants to help reduce swelling. YUCK!! I have not done that, fortunately it has taken care of itself.
Membrane stripping is where they scrape a ripe uterus to produce prostaglandin in order to stimulate labor. My other kids were induced at 39 weeks. I bought my breast pump. I got the same one I had last time, which is the Avent manual - I was really happy with it. It stimulated let down quickly and was easy to clean.
I have to work for 2 more weeks, but I am not doing a whole lot. I am down to 4 days a week. But my doc said to resume normal activity since it is okay for baby to come now. I looked at our profiles we just have 30+ days to go. I can't believe it. Were your older kids on time with their due dates? shocked -
Thursday, 18 September I AM SO SORRY, it's been so long since I got back to you! I'm feeling really good 98% of the time. This guy can really hurt me though when he gets into superactive mode or decides to push his head with all his might up under my ribs.
I had another Dr. appt. this morning. Everything perfectly, and boringly normal. I did gain 2 lbs. for the first time in a month. That puts me at 22 all together. That's great but I CAN'T WAIT TO EAT (& drink too!)!!!! Looks like I'll make it another 12 days to the 30th. That's ok, I'm really trying to enjoy it, knowing that like everything, it will go so quickly. Don't really know how much the baby weighs - at my last u/s 6 weeks ago, they said 4lbs. 5oz. so I'm guessing he'll be at least an 8 pounder like his sisters. Given that I'm c/s anyway, I prefer a little bigger baby. I think they sleep through the night more quickly!
I'm getting more tired though - usually take a 45 minute to 1 hour nap in the afternoon but then I stay up till 11pm. And up again at 6am. I can live with that - not looking forward to being up every 2-3 hours all day and night!
Do you have to get up before 5am for your son's cross country meets too? I thought an 8am Sat. soccer game sucked - you have me beat hands down!
How are you feeling? Any changes? mamatess -
Thursday, 18 September I don't know how to tell how many centimeters I am. I am supposed to see the midwife tomorrow, but I've only felt the baby move 2x today, and I got scared, so my sister is coming to pick up her son (I'm babysitting during back to school night) and I and we are off to the hospital for a little monitoring... oh, the drama! I pray that my Little One is okay. I think she probably is, but they want to do an ultrasound and monitoring anyway, and my favorite midwife is there tonight, so that is good. mamatess -
Wednesday, 17 September Oh, that helps a LOT! you are the first person to understand truly what I'm talking about and have an idea for a solution. I can't believe that I am dilated either, just entered week 34... but I CAN believe there is baby pressure - she has always been head down in every ultrasound, so she probably is/was then, too.
Thanks!

Sunday, 14 September I have been gong to the Dr each week so the can make sure my protein levels and dialation are within normal levels. I was there all day yesterday, they were monitoring my contractions to see if I was dialating any further. I finally was transferred to triage where they continued to monitor me. I was having between 6-7 an hour. I never dialated beyond 3 cm, so they gave me meds to relax my uterus and sent me home.
I feel much better today. 21#'s is great! I have gained 33! yuck, it's going to take me forever to get back to normal. I want to go into labor naturally too. I have never experienced that before. But like you, I may be singing another tune in a few weeks. My birthing class instructor told my husband to start playing with my nipples and having sex with me more at 37 weeks. Apparently playing with your nipples produces oxytocin. I am willing to give it a try. Someone else told me to use a breast pump a little bit each day and it would do the same thing! I am not going to have my membranes stripped. I had a friend that did that and she said it was agony, that she hurt for weeks after her son was born and it made labor more painful.
I still have diapers to wash, and I'll be done. But there is work I want to do on my patio and I want to paint my living room (again) before she gets here. I think I am officially in freak out mode. Oh! there are also casseroles to bake and freeze for when we come home from the hospital.
I hope your daughter is feeling better. I am glad it is just a bruise, but i am sure it still hurts. grace has a big knot on her head from practicing back bends on our hard wood floors. I have gone out and bought her a mat though, I felt so bad.
Hope you are feeling great. Enjoy your weekend! shocked -
Thursday, 11 September How's it going? You should really start popping out pretty soon - keep changing those photos! I actually put a new profile pic up for the first time. My belly is getting huge!
Went to the Dr. again - on the weekly circuit now! BP still 100/60 - same as always and still haven't gained anymore weight. The nurse said that everything I eat now is going directly to the baby and technically, I'm losing while he's gaining. I'm measuring right on track and baby is seemingly healthy so nothing to worry about.
Just a waiting game now - so tired. Well, at most I only have 19 days till c/s, but for just once, it might be nice to go a little early!
How are you feeling? Are you getting any rest with your kids in school? babyfever -
Thursday, 11 September They are doing non-stress tests to check for contractions and fetal distress. I have the straps for it in my purse and I have to take them to the doctor each week just in case.
That is a great idea to have the HP help with the car seat. I'll have to look into that. If I tell my husband about it - we'll be going tomorrow! Speaking of packing the bag for the hospital bag - are you ready for this?? When I think that our babies will be full term in about 3 weeks, I really get freaked out. It's soooo close now. The ladies that I work with keep saying that if I am swelling now the way that I am that they predict I'll go in 3 weeks! Holy crap. I haven't packed my bag yet b/c I think I am in denial. Maybe it's just the fear of the unknown and unpredictable.
I have never been to LA, but I am going to SFO for spring break. Cannot wait. My daughter is in gymnastics right now working towards being a cheerleader. I was not a cheerleader, but was on the dance team. tara1989 -

gosh neva seen a pic soo clear is it a 3d or 4d scan? babyfever -
Monday, 8 September The contractions that have registered during non-stress tests start at the bottom and are accompanied by menstrual cramps, but the BH are now starting right under my cleaveage! It's so weird, but I feel like my entire uterus is constricting. Can you beleive we are so close - like less than 50 days away!
Yes, thank goodness we have a/c. Our summers are typically in the 90's and our humidity is outrageous. It gets so sticky and balmy. I have lived in Tennessee my entire life. It is a beatuitful state. I live in the South East Valley at the base of the Great Smokey Mountains. I live in Knoxville which is a huge college city. My husband is from PA and went to college in NY, so we are a unique pair. I am a bit more laid back than he is. I bet your daughter is adorable cheering. Has she cheered long? Did you cheer in school? NicoleM -
Sunday, 7 September My mom and I went to Wal*mart to night and I actually found a really cute one, its brown and pink! I didn't want a character one, I wanted something stylish and this one is! If we weren't getting the help right now I don't know what we would have done, we are in a serious financial struggle, hubby just changed jobs so we are living off my income...basically living a 2 income budget on one income, but things will get better....they have too! I hear ya about the dogs we have a big ol' fat rott and she likes to roll in the dirt and she's sheddin', not a good combo
babyfever -
Sunday, 7 September I am still swollen, but am truckin' right along! I think it is just from the heat and humidity - c'mon fall. I don't remember getting this swollen last time. I remember I wore my wedding rings at my last 2 deliveries. This time around, is different. I have'nt worn my rings in weeks. My BH are picking up quite a bit, but they start at the top of my bump, is that a weird spot or can it happen anywhere? Have a great weekend!! NicoleM -
Saturday, 6 September Probably not a bad idea! I would rather go a couple weeks early...then our babies would have better weather for their birthdays!! I still need to get a diaper bag..lol better go lookin' today!! I still have a lot of washing to do! My mother-in-law went kinda crazy on clothes which is all needed and soooo very cute! She said she is getting excited!! I am too!! Well ttyl NicoleM -
Friday, 5 September That is really odd, both of u having green eyes!! Well have a good weekend and get lots of rest!

Friday, 5 September My dog is annoying to me too right now! He's is this tiny little 3 lb chihuahua and he drives me crazy! I feel bad because I know he is crazy about me but I cannot handle him right now. I hardly even pet him. My husband pays a lot of attention to him too, which irritates me even more. Is this a pregnancy thing?? So weird that both of us feel this way.
I went by my doctors today because I was so swollen, my face, hands and feet. They told me they thought I would live and to take it easy. I had protein in my urine but since my BP was not past 140/90, they sent me home and said they'll keep an eye on it. I am starting to feel like I am going nuts! I wish I could just hibernate somewhere til this is all over.
I don't see any back fat in your picture. Girl - you look great!!
