Hi! Well, I'm just about done with my first trimester, and it's going very quickly! I found out at 5 weeks, and was very surprised, excited, nervous and a million other things all at once! The most difficult thing so far has been being away from my boyfriend and the babies father a lot of the time. We see each other on weekends, but it sure makes the weeks go slow, and I'm always anxious for the weekend! In January we'll start living together before the baby comes in April! We don't have a preference on the sex of the baby, but definetly want to find out! We've got names picked out for both, but might (hopefully not) change them along the way or once the baby comes! We've still got a long way to go, but it will be here before we know it!

Baby Timeline:

August 25, 2007: We find out we're pregnant after taking 5 tests to confirm it!

September 1, 2007: We share the news with our families.

September 22, 2007: First doctors appointment, find that baby is about 8.5 weeks.

October 29, 2007: Hmm so I'm really bored and felt like writing on this I guess. I'm 14 weeks now, and actually looking pregnant, not pregnant enough that people are asking, but I'm kind of hiding it with jackets and stuff like that. I just started a second job a few weeks ago to make some extra money. I've been doing a lot better saving money too, except on the weekends. I do really great during the week, and then on the weekends I tend to splurge on stuff we don't really need especially eating out.

I had my second doctor's appointment a week ago, everything is still sounding good- another high heartbeat, so everyone is saying maybe a girl! We find out the sex two days after Thanksgiving, so it will be kind of like a birthday present for me! The doctor situation has just become very stressful though, after two appts. I got a mailing that said he actually isn't covered under our insurance. Now I'm just playing phone tag with the insurance company, my mom, and the doctor. It wouldn't be a huge deal to switch doctors since the baby is still very far away, but it would just feel like starting over and getting comfortable with another doctor.

We still haven't decided on an apartment for the new year, and aren't sure of availability on the ones that we really like. School has still been going fine except for the fact that I can hardly focus on anything. I've still been feeling great, no nauseu or anything, I'm still feeling pretty tired most of the time. I'm looking forward to buying some things for the baby's room, I've already been offered two cribs from friends and family, so that's been very helpful!

i was actually wondering the same thing. i'm on my last pack of newborn sizes and she was 8.3 at her last appointment. my husband doesn't want to buy diapers until we need to so he wants us to go up to the next size once this pack is gone. we got alot of different sizes at the shower. the next size does still look a little big for her but the newborn ones are getting snug. i'll probably just listen to my husband :-) good luck!

As far as breastfeeding go it does come down to whatever choice is right for you and your daughter. I think it's great if you continue pumping that way if you change your mind you can always try breastfeeding again. I can't remember how old your little one is but in the very beginning your hormones are very crazy and you'll be surprised what a little bit of sleep and some time will do for you. There are a lot of Moms out there that have issues with their little ones latching on and have always pumped and fed by bottle. If you want to do this just read up on how to keep up your supply so you don't have to buy as much or any formula. Good luck with whatever you decide. Congrats on being a Mommy!!!!

I saw your question about IV's. I'm pretty sure everyone gets one unless your doing the home birth or all natural. I've had an IV with each of my births and the last one I was only there for 10 minutes in labor and they still gave me an IV.

Good Luck to you.

TNMom - Saturday, 26 April
Typically hopsitals want you to have an IV that way if you end up having to have an emergency C-section that's one less thing they have to worry about. I talked them into giving me a heplock or salinelock. The needle is in place for an emergency, but you aren't tied to an iv pole. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hey thanks for your response on PUPPP. I dont think I have it really bad, just enough to crazy scratching!!! LOL! I have been using Caladryl lotion and it helps for the time being and then it comes right back. I think I am going to see if my dr. can prescribe something stronger. I sure do hope it goes away soon!!!

lol--i know it is frustrating at times about the registry deal. my mom says a registry is a more new age or "in the now" women, old fashioned women get offended or dont GET IT. i dont see the problem w them as long as there is something on it for every budget. how rude to determine something is ugly on ur registry--it isnt for them or their kids gggrrrrr. well i have a feeling i will be LATE BOO plus they changed my date to the 19th or the 24th What The...Take care babe
