adriennella - 47.4 hours ago I think I just might've thwarted the mastitis by feeding a lot on the one side. It hurts still, but I'm making myself do it. In good news, Rose had her first official pediatrician's appointment today and the doc says she's "perfect." She already has good neck control, has gained back her lost weight and then some (now 7 lbs 1 oz) and all of her tests came back great.
Rose is still a long skinny thing. She's only wearing premie clothes and I'm wondering how fast they grow! What's Heidi's size now?
I'm getting sleepier by the day, but Rose actually slept 3 hours in a row last night. That's a record. She gets up every hour or two usually. I'm so glad I don't have to function.
Talk to you soon.
adriennella - Thursday, 4 September oh my goodness, I'm so sorry that it took me so long to write back to you. I've been trying to keep up with friends but taking care of Rose is my first priority.
Phew, I've had quite a day! Some of my stitches had some problems and I was in the early stages of this terrible breast infection called mastitis, so I had to go the doctor and get fixed up this morning. She was AMAZING and helped me with all of my ailments in a matter of minutes. I felt like a hypochondriac going in, but it was really a good decision. I guess I thwarted some pretty major problems. Phew.
Rose is a wonderful baby. She hardly cries and is so healthy. We have her first official doctors appointment tomorrow, but I know there's nothing to worry about!
Russell's been so supportive and is in love with Rose. She responds to our voices and is the cutiest baby ever!
How are you healing? DO you have more pictures of Heidi?
adriennella - Sunday, 31 August what cutie kids you have! Are you spoiling little Heidi?
adriennella - Friday, 29 August Thank you so much for your note!
Are you as deleriously happy as I am? How is your little Heidi? I still LOVE that name! I'm functioning on 10% of my brain, but I've never been happier.
Rose is a perfect baby. She loves to eat and never cries. Russell keeps waiting for her to fuss.
Breastfeeding is wonderful. It does hurt, but it doesn't compare to the discomfort I was feeling in my pelvis at the end of pregnancy, and nothing compares to labor for me. This actually feels like pain with a purpose! I keep finding out about all of these extra benefits of breastfeeding that are great. First of all, it's a beautiful bonding experience. I think it's really special. Also, it shrinks your uterus, so my belly is shrinking every day! It helps the baby with jaundice and because I fed so much in the hospital, Rose had the lowest biliruben score the pediatrician had ever seen! Also, I found out that if I breastfeed exclusively, I may not get a period for another 10 months! I have endometriosis and a lot of pain with periods, so that's an incredible blessing!
I hope all is well with you. One day, we'll have to catch up and brag about our girlies.
adriennella - Thursday, 28 August what a perfect angel....xoxoxo
adriennella - Sunday, 24 August You and Heidi are in my prayers.
It looks like I'm off to the hospital today if these contractions don't stop.
Thank you for being such a wonderful pregnancy friend. I promise to keep in touch. I must see your little Princess!
adriennella - Tuesday, 19 August You are going to do wonderfully. I just know it. You're in my thoughts and prayers tonight. I'm so happy for you and know that you'll be in love like never before so, so soon. Heal quickly and rest well.
xoxox
Isabels-Mom - Tuesday, 19 August Let me know how your c-section goes, im having one in 2 days
adriennella - Tuesday, 19 August you are deep in my thoughts....I wish you all the best and can't wait to see little Heidi
adriennella - Sunday, 17 August What on earth is a post birth plan? Now I have something to do!
Russell's polishing the pram with vigor right now.
adriennella - Sunday, 17 August It's hot here. Russell and I just got back from a 3 year old's birthday party. My friends lifted my spirits, telling me that I was beautiful and rubbing my belly. There was a nurse there that told me my baby is 7 pounds (what my doc said) and that she'd be here in 2 to 4 days. I like that news even if it's not real!
I can't wait to see Heidi. You must be so giddy!
adriennella - Saturday, 16 August That is so gorgeous! You've inspired me to pack a sweet little pink dress and sweater. My sweater is nearly identical to yours! I would love a sweet bonnet like the one you have, but I just have a soft pink cap. My bonnet's too big for a newborn. I absolutely love Heidi's coming home outfit.
