October 30th (30 weeks)

I had my 30 week appt today The doctor is quit worried about my lack of weight gain and the fact that I am measuring 3 weeks smaller then I should be. he has chosen to hold off at least till my next appt to decide to do a growth U/S just to see if maybe all the bugs I have had could be contributing to the lack of gaining. I also mentioned to him that I had been having a lot of braxton hicks and that last night they were about every 5-10 mins lasting about 1-2 mins each but they had stopped through out the night and did not hurt so I drank some water laid on my side and relaxed then had fallen asleep.
So after all that info so he decided to check my cervix and said its hard and long but the baby is very low into my pelvis and is fully engaged into the birth canal so he said he will check me again at my next appt. I was told take it easy he discourages me to do excessive walking, sex and vigarous activities & encourages me to pack my bag within the next 2-3 weeks, he aslo said if I have any signs of labor to get to the hospital and be checked out because I live an hour from my hospital and my last son was born in four hours, he said this little boy could fly right out if he had wings.
After all this, the good thing is I am not on bedrest like I was with my first son lets just call it light duty....and the only reason I am not is because the baby is active like he should be and his vitals are good...but any sign of distress and it could all change in a second so I am praying that my next appt goes better for us cause if it doesn't I will have to have a growth U/S and bed rest till I am full term!

November 26 (34 weeks)
I had another doc appt and NST today, I was having regular contractions but not strong ones and so my doctor decided to check my cervix and i am not dilated at all. I have to have another U/S next wednesday to see if the baby has grown since my last u/s that was on Nov 14th, they said that i am high risk and that the condition the baby has is intrauterine growth retardation or restriction (IUGR)...which means that he is not growing properly with my due date, the doc said that when babies have this during pregnancy that they usually catch up on growth soon after birth, so if he has not grown the doc is going to intervine and take the baby because something with me is preventing him from growing and he will grow better outside of me. Makes me kinda sad if it is me but at least they feel they can do something about it and if they have to take him, Its not overly early and the baby has 90% odds with out long term affects. The doc also said its not a birth defect or handicap of any kind that he can see its purely a growth problem with either me or the baby!
