Hi mommies!!

About me...

I'm a military wife. My husband and I are parents to a 16year old girl.

We're now expecting our second little surprise in August and we're extremely excited.

We tried for 8 years to conceive a second child but had no success. So a couple years ago we decided to give up and just have fun with each other.

Then outta nowhere we got pregnant.... no ovulation tests, no in vitro, no stress, no headaches, no planning... nothing!! All those years and all that trouble trying to conceive, and we end up getting pregnant for FREE!! Go figure :)

We now have one baby on the way and one baby with a foot out the door. Our daughter will be starting her senior year in high school when the baby's born. So I feel like we're starting all over. I don't remember anything. I didn't even save anything, like a crib, stroller, baby clothes, toys, etc. So I'm definitely going to have fun re-shopping for everything. Toys are so much cooler than they were 16 years ago!!

I plan to, once again, breastfeed.

This time I'm going to be a stay-home mom.

I would like to try cloth diapers this time. Let me know if you have any advice or opinions on that.

Birth will be in a hospital.

My first delivery was natural but I doubt if I'm woman enough to endure the pain this time around... we'll see :)

Well, I kicked his little booty out!!

He was born July 26.

Now I'm so busy I can't think straight!!!

Having lots of fun though :)

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

here is something that is good to know................ Raise a good sleeper A typical newborn sleeps between 16 and 18 hours a day, and your baby should be physically able to sleep through the night — that is, sleep for at least six to eight hours straight — sometime between 6 weeks and 6 months of age. In fact, by 3 months, more than 90 percent of babies can and do sleep through the night, although they may still have weeks of night waking due to growth spurts or developmental changes. Exactly when this magical milestone happens can vary greatly, depending both on your baby's individual development and the healthy sleep habits you establish. Some hints: Create a consistent bedtime routine. Doing things in the same way every evening at about the same time helps your baby, who can't tell time, get the idea that sleep is expected soon. Example: Bathe, dress for bed, feed, rock until drowsy but not asleep, place in crib. Set the scene for sleep. When you put your baby to bed, the lights should be off and curtains drawn. Use a crib light or a night-light to give you just enough light to see by. Keep the room quiet or use a white-noise machine or lullaby CD to block out sounds from the rest of the house. Don't wait until your baby is asleep in your arms. Put your baby down to sleep when he's drowsy but still awake. This helps him learn to fall asleep on his own, without being rocked or fed to sleep. If he awakens on his own later, he'll be better able to go back to sleep without needing to cry out for you to rock him.

I don't get on here to check my messages very often any more. Life is hectic with two kids to take care of now! You know how it is! My SIL had troubles in her pregnancy from the beginning! She had her cerclage taken out and did go right into labor. She was so totally afraid of the pain, that she asked for an epidural after just one hour of labor. She said she never felt pain with the contractions, but just wanted to avoid it altogether - she's weak! (HaHa) Anyhow, she dilated to 4 cm, but then stopped. The doctor gave her all day to progress, but she never did. Maybe the early epidural caused it - I don't know. Well, she ended up having a c-section that night. Her and the baby are fine, but she had complications afterwards. Her incision kept bleeding at home, and she had to return to the doctor every day for a while to have it packed. (Yuck!) Now, 4 weeks later, she's finally starting to heal up some. I know how you feel about being stiched up from the tear. I had a third degree tear from my first child. That was a pain to heal, but eventually did! This time I had a small episiotomy, and it seemed to heal much quicker. It'll get better soon!
