Anyone up for a good laugh? Read on...
I conceived my two boys easily at age 27 and 29. Then, we could not have a third. We went to a fertility specialist and after months of injections, surgery, vaginal ultrasounds (anyone who's had one knows how fun THEY are!) we were told that we were infertile. The chances of us conceiving - even with insemination - were bleak, less than 1%. So we just went ahead with life and an empty bedroom for the next few years.
THEN, exactly 100 periods after we started TTC baby #3, I was late for my period. Since I am now 40 years old, I spent 5 days celebrating my early menopause. (Those of you who are over 40 can laugh now and shake your head saying, "you silly, silly woman...") Needless to say, on the sixth day I realized that there may be another reason for my late period and stopped by Walgreens for a test. Well, the plus sign showed up before my stick hit the counter so I grabbed the car keys and drove to my doctor's office for a second test. After producing another plus sign, they congratulated me on being pregnant!!
We have been celebrating this new life ever since!
