34.3 hours ago suzetter - my son had double stranglated inguinal hernias that he had survery for at 5 weeks old and when they went in for that they discovered one of his testicles weren not anchored so they actually anchored it was a regular old button sewn to it on the outside! rather funny looking but it did the trick!

Wednesday, 8 October well unfortunately its really easy to prevent a staph infection, washing hands. If one pt had a staph infection and they didn't clean their hands well this would increase his risk. I would just be an advocate and ask them to wash their hands before they touch him. i'm not sure if your talking about him having regular staph or MRSA. MRSA is staph thats a little harder to get rid of due to resistance to common abx. My son had to have inguinal hernia surgery when he was 18months and all went well and both surgerys are in the same region. good luck hope i helped TashaBena -
Wednesday, 8 October hey i was living with a friend of mine and her son had to go thru the surgery. the hard part about it is they are not allowed to be very active and 1 year olds are very active. if you haev any specific questions feel free to ask = ) chasesmommy -

Tuesday, 7 October Hey, I do not know a lot about it, but as a 5th grade teacher, I had a student a couple years ago who had the testicle lowering surgery whatever it was called. He was only out of school for like a week. Didn't seem too bad. Good luck! babygal187 -
Tuesday, 7 October My friend's son had to have a surgery for undesended testes. He also has a slight touch of autism and some other problems when he was younger. I don't know if it's all related. I think it's best to get the surgery and get it taken care of as soon as possible. I guess so it doesn't interfere with their growth in any way. I think by the age of 2 they are supposed to drop. I think the only scary thing is they have to put them to sleep for the surgery. But other than that, I think it's not to major of a surgery. But could cause problems with growth if not corrected. esyogurl -
Tuesday, 7 October my nephew had the surgery. its an out patient procedure with slim chance of complications. you can't even see the scar! MamaMari -
Tuesday, 7 October Hi, my friends son had this to, the surgery is pretty quick and after it's like nothing has happend, they're completely normal. Elismommy -

Tuesday, 7 October Hi..i think what your friend's son have is called "undescended testicles". like you said a simple surgery can fix this. it's a common problem for male babies.good luck BraxtonsMommy0516 -
Tuesday, 7 October Hi! My son is almost 5 months and is having this problem with one of his testicles. I was told that if it didn't drop by 6 months then he would need a minor surgery to fix it. Kind of scary, but it seems like it happens a lot! So we will see what happens. samanthar -

Tuesday, 7 October A good friend of ours has a son who had a testicle that did not drop. He had to have a simple surgery when he was eight years old to bring it down. He is now 12 and doing great. Hope this helps. Best of luck to your friends! julbroom1 -
Tuesday, 7 October my son oldest son had a similar issue, his one didn't desend till almost a 1 1/2 they new it earlier and if it didn't desend on its own they would do something, but it did happen on its own! good luck to your friend, my son is now 20 and never had an issue since oldie44 -
Tuesday, 7 October I believe it is simple. The testicles are usually there, but they are not descended into the sack. My husband had simular problem when he was a child, but with one of them. The Dr just pushed it out by pressing above his pubic area. Of course, there might be different approaches now, but it should not be difficult. I am surpirsed though that it was only noticed at this age. I have a boy now and it is very obvious that there are 2 testcles in his scrotum. Sarah-Ashley -
